I had looked around Austin to find the right therapist for me and she checked all the boxes. She is very knowledgeable about anatomy, is really intuitive with her touch and her abilities to find my problem areas and unravel them, her pressure is spot on, and she does amazing assisted stretching which really helps with both my flexibility and my recovery from exercise. She was my go to therapist for about seven years, even though her location required about a 45 minute drive each way from where I was living in Pflugerville. I typically saw her twice a month, and the experience was well worth the drive. A few years ago, a couple of family and work changes made it nearly impossible to make the drive down to her studio. I'm happy to say that that has changed now and I'm able to get back to see her on a regular basis. I had an amazing session with her today and she was able to resolve some lingering issues in my hips and lower back and I felt great after leaving her studio. Truly the best massage I have ever had! I've never found anyone I like enough or feel remarkable relief from to make massage part of my weekly schedule until I found Melody. I've had a regular therapist for a couple of years and I'm very particular about who I work with as I am usually a knotted mess and tend to need very deep muscle work. Most therapists can't get some of my problem areas to relax and I've tended to stay with the same therapist once I find one. Unfortunately, my primary therapist (and her backup in the massage center that I go to) has been getting booked up more and more and I really needed some work done. My lower back and neck were a mess. I had a crushing headache. I needed help NOW. After looking around I found Relaxing Rituals and saw that Melody worked with athletes and did sports therapy. I figured it was worth a shot. I was a little nervous asking her for a same day appointment but she took pity on me and adjusted schedules to get me in. She only had 60 minutes available but it turned out to be just enough. In a word, Melody was fantastic. First of all, she is very professional and did a quick consult on my problem areas. She told me what she was going to do and checked with me throughout the massage to ensure that I was comfortable and that the work was helping. It's always uncomfortable for me working with a new therapist (it's why I tend to be pretty loyal to the therapist I see) but Melody was easy to talk to and very friendly. In addition to the deep tissue work, she did some stretching of my legs and lower back which was really good. I left there much more loose and limber than when I came in. Headache was totally gone. I was very pleased with the session with Melody. While she kept telling me that the space she is currently in isn't up to her standards, the room was very clean, the equipment was comfortable, and the location was very easy to get to. Best Massage Ever. And for a few reasons... 1) Melody is great. Her massage was amazing and tailors her massage around your needs. I have been getting massages for the past 10 years and she is, by far, my favorite. 2) She runs her own show so there is no dealing with impersonal corporate nonsense like you would find at any massage chains. She makes scheduling very easy and seamless: I texted her the day before and, boom, I was in the books. This is great because I travel sometimes and my schedule can change very quickly. It is nice to know I can text Melody instead of calling a chain and being put on hold for 10 minutes. 3) The room is very clean and quiet. She puts on good music and offers a lavender or eucalyptus scent to put on the face covering when you are face down. I appreciate her paperless intake, text friendly scheduling and personalized massage. She even taught me how to prevent the back pain I was experiencing (I was using my foam roller incorrectly). Melody is the most knowledgeable and talented massage therapist I have been to. She is excellent at general massage and deep tissue. She has become my go-to massage therapist. Until 1 month ago, every single day, I was waking up with backache, leg sore, and headache. A month ago, I set an appoinment with her.
