SOHO Roll
Karla T.

I got the soho roll but I asked for the sauce to be on the side , the roll was made to perfection and fried to perfection, the one star deduction is for the garlic fried rice with shrimp , I should have opted out for the veggies because it was a lot of them , the rice had a lot of garlic flavor but needed more salt or something to boost the flavor the soy sauce worked fine though

As a strong and independent, red-blooded, American woman: I would NEVER. EVER. Order a sushi roll with the intent to share it. I'm a big girl. I finish my sushi rolls. However - this may be the first sushi place I've been to where I would strongly consider splitting one with a friend. The portions are enormous!!! What a treat! We ordered the mango macaron ice cream which was phenomenal. I personally got the rancho deep fried roll which was a dream but I couldn't finish And my husband ordered the lambda roll which he really loved. Our server Alicia was so sweet and attentive! She made the dining experience very pleasant. Ohhhh and the ambience! Feels like a mix between a high end sports bar and a traditional sushi restaurant. Happy birthday Drew!

Vegetarian / Vegetable Roll. I enjoyed it. Recommend asking for spicy mayo to elevate

*** Vegetarian Review *** Limited options, but the vegetable tempura is nice and crispy without being greasy. Hard to not appreciate when they include 2 pieces of asparagus. The vegetable tempura hand roll was tasty and a great combo with the tempura appetizer. Definitely recommend asking for spicy mayo to elevate. Happy Hour Every Day: 2P-5p Plenty of parking.

Quiet afternoon

Quiet place on a Thursday afternoon. The appetizers were the best. Service was quick and the setting is nice. Other sushi bars in the area were not open so that's a plus in favor of this place. I've got many food issues so most king rolls were not safe for me but our friends did very well here. There's also a HAPPY HOUR serving nicely priced appetizers.

Food is awesome, service is fast, nice atmosphere! I would recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner as specials are available.

The restaurant was clean, had a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. We had to eat quickly before getting my daughter to practice. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. I was a bit sad to see how slow it was for a friday evening! Go give it a try. ITS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT.

Very fresh and delicious!

We love Soho, it's our favorite local sushi spot. The rolls are fresh, flavorful and yummy! The service is always speedy and the staff is so friendly. It's a big place with lots of seating!

When I'm doing research on Japanese restaurants. Soho Sushi always shows up in my research. However, the mixed reviews stopped me from going there for a long time! I finally tried them out. I like them very much. I love both of their yummy foods and excellent customer service. The dining room is also nice and comfortable. I'm sure I will enjoy my meal at Soho Sushi again!

Never again, ordered sashimi and got rotten fish. Not the first time either. This place is HORRIBLE. Sushi Cafe is the only good Sushi in Sacramento. I would post the photos if I could.

People need a Good Sushi restaurant around this area! We were seated immediately a little after 5, but the place filled up within 15 minutes. The sushi, sashimi and cooked food were all better than expected. I been to a lot of AYCE places and normally fish slices are super thin, it's not the case here. Sashimi were fresh, good sizes, nigiri's were not trimmed down, so many options! I love the option to add Amaebi, Fresh Osyters, Uni, and Blue Fin at a decent price. The Garlic seasoned nigiri all were delicious. I don't think I ate anything bad tonight. The deserts can be a bit bigger than sushi size. But they do allow you to order as much as you can eat. Leo our waiter was Wonderful and was on top of it. The dishes didn't take too long, it was typical for a busy night. I will definitely come back for more!

I'd never been here before but my husband was picking up pizza across the street and this was nearest location. My first impression on a quick stop Friday night. Restaurant is small but clean and modern. They were REALLY busy but friendly and my roll was ready by the time I got there. I asked for soy sauce and wasabi, they had already put it all in the bag. Good customer service. When I got to my destination, sat down and finally opened the box, I was surprised at the size of the roll. I ordered the Machu Pichu and it had a good combo of seafood so I expected a larger roll. It is also priced at $25 so there's that for expectation. I do realize price of food has gone up a lot, I was still taken back a bit. The roll was really good though. Machu Pichu- Tempura shrimp and spicy tuna in the roll. Spicy tuna didn't have the kick, I couldn't tell it apart from the other ingredients. It was supposed to be topped with avocado but didn't have any as you can see in the pictures. It did have a good amount of snow crab mix. Half the roll was topped with salmon, the other half with tuna but it looked fresh, not seared. Also, I didn't know they would be divided. The description implies the entire roll having each of the ingredients listed. Other than that, it did have the creamy and unagi sauces, the leeks, marsh and salad. Overall it was fresh and good. It just wasn't what I was expecting nor was what I thought it would be for a $25 roll. I was so hungry and didn't dine in so I let it go.. plus that amazing flavor of wasabi and soy sauce met enough of what I was looking forward to tasting with the other ingredients. I got the Inari for my toddler. It was good but also $8 for the two halves. Maybe I've been hiding under a rock but that's pricy for 2 tbsp of rice with tofu wrap. Would I go back? Haven't decided. I'm sure if I had dined in, these details would have been corrected. Overall it was good.. there was just a lot missing for me in this first time experience. If I do, I will definitely update.

I visited on a weekend afternoon and was the only customer in the restaurant, with just one chef and one server present. I ordered a torched roll. I could hear the torch being applied for several seconds, and when the plate arrived the rice was literally blackened and crunchy from being burned. The albacore on top was stiff and overcooked, the sauce was excessive, and the shrimp tempura inside was soggy. Every component was mishandled -- from ingredient freshness to execution -- and after two bites I felt sick and could not continue eating it. I considered asking for a replacement, but the chef left the restaurant immediately after serving the dish. The server was polite and understanding when I explained I couldn't eat the food, and I left without ordering anything else. I have given this restaurant multiple chances and this was the final one. With several other sushi restaurants nearby, I strongly recommend choosing elsewhere.

Its not a budget Sushi... 4 pieces in a roll or so. Service: Over attentive wait staff at times.... you kinda have to seek this place out, so they are over eager at the table when someone arives. Ambiance: very well designed and decorated... I go there for casual dates, lunch and dinner, but I could see it dressed up for prom/valentines etc if they chose to go that way (white or black linen) biggest complaint, get rid of the TVs... this is not a sports bar. Summary: Great food, but an identity crissis. Really bad location (visibility). Update Dec 2025: I think they changed owners (help wanted signs and new B/W menu with no photos). Last time I was there the food really suffered. Baked clams were tough and over cooked; My "date" picked the rice off the roll to get the protein. They did not offer to comp the clams although I only ate one. And just as a point... they overlooked our Military Discount even though she was in uniform and on her lunch hour. I dont really care about a discount, but it speaks to lack of attention to the patrons. I want to give it one more try, just to be fair.

It was amazing. The squid was not too chewy, and I don't know how they seasoned it, but it was delicious. The sauce on top was very savory. I especially liked the tentacles, the little "suckers" were actually crunchy. A total home run. Last time, I had their tonkatsu Ramen, which is my favorite Ramen. Their version is excellent. I was going to have it again, but this time I saw the seafood Ramen on the menu. Amazing! You choose your spice level. I chose the mild, and there was just a tiny bit of spice, just enough that I noticed that it was there . There was plenty of seafood, the shrimp were tender, and the scallops were buttery. The fish cake also had a good flavor. The noodles were the perfect texture, the veggies were good, and the broth was rich, but not overly so. It had a great savory flavor. I absolutely loved the egg. It was perfectly in the middle between hard boiled and soft boiled. My late mom would make what I liked to call "goopy eggs." , and this one brought back a wonderful memory. I had enough of the Ramen and enough of the squid left over for a full second meal. The portions were huge! I opted for the Kalbi Short Ribs, which came with rice and steamed cabbage and broccoli! I also ordered the crab rangoons and spam musubi to share. The kalbi had great flavor and the meat was tender and did not have too much fat. I enjoyed the plate. The rangoon wonton wrappers were really thick and tough, which was not my fave. It also was mostly cream cheese, but they tasted okay. The musubi were decent too! Not sure I would order either appetizer again, but I did enjoy them. The ramen's were works of art. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated by a very sweet young lady named Violet who ended up also being our server. The inside was clean, with a wall of TVs that formed one large screen, lights on the walls, and they had pink heart balloons all throughout for the holiday. We had already picked the items we were interested in beforehand, and Violet let us immediately order. We got the Hamachi Kama, the Shrimp Daddy, The Northen Lights Wrap, 2 small bowls of miso soup, the BBQ Albacore, the House Wife Special Roll and the Philly Cheesesteak Roll. EVERYTHING tasted SUPER FRESH and incredibly delicious! We HIGHLY recommend the Shrimp Daddy and the Northern Lights Wrap, but honestly you can't go wrong with any of the items we selected. Violet was VERY professional, personable, and tentative and took great care of us. The other server, Gayane, was also very sweet and came over and gave my wife a miniature chocolate cake (made by a local bakery called Heavenly Pasteries) as a Mother's Day treat. Then at one point, Chef Maguro walked around and checked in with every customer and stopped at our table for a chat. Maguro was such an incredibly cool and talented guy. He told us he's been a sushi chef for about 28 years, and it shows. He's also responsible for all the delicious looking pictures on their website and in the restaurant.
