I've heard so many good things about Beijing Cafe from the Rancho community, and let me just say--they were absolutely right. This is easily one of the best Chinese food spots in the area. My husband and I decided to treat ourselves on a Friday night after a long (and rough!) work week, so we ordered ahead on Uber Eats planning to just walk in and pick it up. However, when we arrived, our order wasn't ready yet and we had to wait about 10 more minutes. I'll admit, I was a bit annoyed at first--but then I realized how many people in Rancho must come here to satisfy their Chinese food cravings. It is a Friday night, after all, so they're clearly busy for a reason so can't complain that they're getting well deserved business! Good for them! The wait ended up being no longer than what they told us, and by the time we got our food, it was hot, fresh, and still perfectly ready to eat for when we got home. I ordered the Sesame Chicken Plate, and my husband got the Chicken Fried Rice and Salt Pepper Chicken. Everything was extremely tasty--we literally couldn't stop eating and had to tell ourselves to stop so we don't feel extra bloated. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend. read more

Stopped by Beiing Café and had the salt and pepper chicken with chicken chow mein, seriously hit the spot. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and had a nice little kick from the jalapeños. The chow mein was just right, not greasy, plenty of noodles, and full of flavor. Big portions too. Everything came out hot and fresh, and you can tell they cook with care. Poor low quality ingredients - gave this place a few attempts and everything is just the lowest quality food ingredients you can find. From low quality fried rice, to bad tasting meat - beef. They probably buy their food at the lowest possible prices at volume restaurant food distributors. Frozen vegetables, etc... and everything is sodium and sauce drenched to mask that poor quality stuff. Lastly, the guy at the register isn't trying to be friendly or polite either. We ordered the Asparagus Beef, Sweet and Sour Pork, Hot and Sour Soup, the Potstickers and Cha Shu Bun (bbq pork). Everything was so delicious and made to order. 'Might be the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I ordered Kung Pao chicken, which is a very straightforward dish. The rice was dry and day old, the sauce had notes of something stinky, somewhere between shrimp paste and black bean sauce (both flavors that I love!), but it was a fermented flavor I can't put my finger on. Either way, not good. I came in after the lunch rush, and there were about four seated parties eating and wrapping up their meals. More than half of the guests were Asian, which is a great sign for a positive Chinese food experience. I ordered, and proceeded to wait over 30 minutes for my to go order. I started to lose patience. I stood, waiting for my order, receiving it only to go back to work late and with a mouthful of food I regretted paying and tipping for. Their lunch special did not come with soup or an egg roll, just the dish and stale rice. I don't understand how these places don't invest in the quality of the rice, that's half the meal! I was required to order to go because it was a half hour before closing time. I made another stop and then needed a half hour to drive home, so food was not in its best state by the time I ate it. I did reheat the Chinese Pancake in a toaster oven and steam the Xiaolongbao again at home. Xiaolongbao or XLB (a.k.a. Shanghai soup dumplings) $13.99 - You get 8 dumplings. They all looked deflated by the time I got home. Some dumplings had big holes in them. The meat juices or soup had leaked into the To Go box. I tried one dumpling, whose meat filling seemed too firm, so I decided to steam the XLB again. Dumplings revived a little and tasted better after re-steaming. One dumpling had gristle. Wrappers are thin enough, which is good. Flavor is there, but I am unsure about the filling's texture and ingredient quality. For me, soup dumplings are meant to be eaten immediately at the restaurant. Chinese Pancake $11.99 - The pancakes still seemed warm by the time I got home, so maybe I didn't need to reheat. The wrapper dough was too thick and doughy and overwhelmed the filling of chives, glass noodles, and diced pork bits. I wished for more filling. You get 2 pastries wrapped like empanadas. At $6 each, I think I am better off pan-frying frozen ones from 99 Ranch. Parking was easy and convenient with angled parking spots in front of the restaurant. I thought the server was very nice. When I asked if I had time to walk around the plaza, he was cute to tell me exactly how many minutes and seconds were left to steam my Xiaolongbao! read more

I was on my way home from a road trip and desperately wanted won ton soup. I found Beijing Cafe and they were closing in 18min. I told them I was 12 min away. I asked if they can hold off on cooking my order since it only takes 5min to make. When I got there my brother went in to pick it up and the soup came back to me piping hot. I got home and tasted it. The soup was exactly what I wanted. It was hot and delicious. It had plenty of won tons. More than any usual spot. Me and my family were here to visit in this area and were looking for a good place to eat . I found this on google so thought it was worth a shot , the pictures looked bomb and they have a decent variety on the menu. We sat down and ordered, the man taking our order was nice but he had an earbud in his ear and kept mishearing what we said . My youngest son ordered salt and pepper wings and a cup of egg drop soup . We all received our food promptly but my son was left waiting for the duration of the entire meal. I was wondering why it would take so long just for the cup of soup and when I asked him he said he would bring it and never did at all. The wings came out when everybody was done eating at our table and they were not good ! They were so salty and sweet at the same time but not in a good way. It tasted like they poured a bunch of salt and sugar on the wings . The presentation of our food was beautiful , but the taste was not there . My orange chicken was extremely salty as well. I could barely eat it. I had to cut it with a lot of white rice. And the rest of the orders nobody liked either my entire family disliked it, and they are not picky eater so that says a lot. My husband will eat anything and likes just about anything and he did not like any of the food either. I spent almost $90 on this place and it was a total waste of money and my poor son basically didn't get to eat at all since his wings were terrible and got there at the last minute and he never got his soup. The man working really needs to take off his earbuds so that he can hear properly because when I went to order to go boxes, I asked for four boxes and then he responded with two and I said no, four , and he said oh OK and came back out with only two. He obviously is having a hard time hearing with the earbud in. I've been going here since it changed from the Red Dragon. Sorry to report something happened and I feel it's heading downhill. I used to really love the chicken, noodles, soup, rice, almost everything from here. Tonight I had a chicken dish and a noodle dish and the flavors were really off. Chicken was mushy and the noodles were REALLY salty. We got a to go order and were home already and were looking forward to the meal. We ate a few bites and my wife said, "Something is wrong, did something change?" I looked at the menu they put in the bag and across the top it says, "New Management". I'm hoping they have not changed the way they cook or the ingredients. It was really a bad meal. We ended up not eating it and made some sandwiches at home. Since my old favourite place had closed a couple years ago I am looking for a new favourite. I recently tried found this place and ordered a few items to go. Their Mongolian Beef was good. Nice sized beef slices. Onions were fried up and had a perfect taste to them. Sauce was there but not too much. Just the right amount. The peppers were there but not too many. Overall the meal had great flavour. Service was friendly and quick. I walked in to place my order and the "kid" behind the counter was friendly, helpful and a general delight. I have ordered takeout from here a couple of times and it's usually been a hit or miss. The staff have always been kind and friendly and the food quality is pretty consistent for the most part. I do have to say I was a bit disappointed by my last purchase. The rice and noodles had a very distinct tap water taste that ruined my experience. I understand there can be some inconsistencies with the cooking process so I'm not holding this one experience against them however I believe it is something they could definitely improve on. read more

Came out hot, eggplant was good on doneness. I'd say the only detractor was that the sauce didn't soak into the eggplant itself as much as I would like but can't really beat the speed. Made me miss having soup though but I was in a rush so this worked well for what I wanted.
