This is my go to Thai spot in Sac. The food is always fresh and you get great value for what you pay. The amount of spice is just right. The curry is very flavorful and the noodles have a good balance of noodles comment and veggies. I give the noodles a 8/10 and the curry a 9/10. Their fried rice is also must try. The customer service is hit or miss. Today they were great but most other times they can be quite rude.

Hidden gem! FOOD: I had a wonderful drunken noodle dish. The noodles were unlike anything I have ever had. They were fresh and thick cut. The sauce was perfect with the yummy chicken basil and veggies. AMBIANCE: Cute, traditional decor. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into making the restaurant look nice and stylish. SERVICE: Very nice and quick! My husband comes here a lot and always raves about how good they are to him. Overall, will I be back? Yes and my husband will too!

Restaurant was empty on a Saturday evening around 7 pm when we checked in. However, they had online order pick ups. Service was great. Restaurant is beautiful decorated and it was very spacious. We ordered Shrimp pad sew and Chicken green curry. Both had generous portions and tasted good. Mango coconut rice was good too but we were full and couldn't enjoy much. I want to talk about chicken fried rice which we took as a to go. May be I failed to read the description, but it had just the rice and chicken with may be few pieces of eggs. Chicken didn't taste good the next day. Rice had no taste either. I am always a big fan of fried rice but this one failed to impress.

Service charge? Lol. Get out of here

Ewww...u guys should really read this by sacramento bee about this restaurant https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.sacbee.com/news/local/article311891411.html First of all, service is horrible. The lady serving us has an attitude that needs working on. Food was mediocre. Be vigilant with ur receipt. I asked about 2 charges and she said it was tax plus service charge no tip added. I'd rather drive all the way to elk grove and eat at thai chili. Bye sala thai, u need working on. Lol

Sala Thai is a good Thai restaurant in Rancho Cordova (off Zinfandel) with a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. I have been here twice for lunch on the weekend and both times, it was not very busy. We were able to get a table right away. Although it wasn't too busy, service was a bit slow to start. The workers were in the back mostly and it was hard to flag someone down when I wanted to request something. Previously, I've ordered the Duck Curry, which I thought was okay. There wasn't too much duck and the curry was not bad. I wanted to try a different dish next time. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice, which was really good! It came with large shrimp and chicken, which were really nice. I loved the pineapple chunks and the flavor of the rice dish. I also tried the Green Curry with chicken and the curry was really tasty. There was some inconsistency with their dishes. One time I tried the Garlic Lover with chicken and it was outstanding. Another time, I tried the same dish, and it must not have been cooked right because it lacked flavor. I ordered the Thai coffee and did NOT like it. I probably should have gotten the Thai Tea. Overall, my experiences at Sala Thai were not bad. The food was some hit and some miss. The service was sometimes good and sometimes a bit slow. The atmosphere was very serene and peaceful, which I really enjoyed. We also stayed awhile and they didn't rush us to leave until they closed.

Had a good dinner here on a Saturday night. Was seated quickly and the peaceful, dim lighting created a relaxing ambiance. The Drunken Noodles with a spice level of 3 were delicious and the perfect amount of spice. The Thai beer was a great accompaniment. Will definitely be back to try other items and maybe higher spice levels.

Went to eat at Sala Thai again today and it was delicious! We haven't been here in a long time. We ordered the same items as before: fresh rolls with tofu, green beans with chicken, pad Thai with chicken, and cashew nut with chicken, and 2 Thai ice teas. All were so good. Service was fast as usual. The ambience was quiet. This place is seriously the best Thai restaurant around. Come try it and you'll know what we mean.

The restaurant was empty when we got there. We were seated immediately. Looked at the menu and ordered as we were hungry. First off the chicken satay here is actually really good! Besides the chicken satay, we also ordered the egg rolls, yellow curry and boat noodle. Chicken satay- flavorful and juicy Egg rolls- I don't care for it. The veggies and noodle were quite mushy inside. Yellow curry- hubby enjoyed it with a side of sticky rice. I thought they were okay. Boat noodle- the broth was a bit salty The waitress was nice. Although, don't expect her to refill your water. She left the pitcher on the table for us to serve ourselves

I went to this restaurant for lunch by myself and ordered Pad Thai. The food was good but it was a bit soggy for me. If they can reduce the sauce then it would be perfect. There was no wait since it's lunch and during weekday. The interior design is special which bring up some kind of vintage vibe. I haven't tried other food so I am not sure about them. But so far, would recommend if you come here for Pad Thai and, if possible, ask them to reduce the sauce a bit. I came from Southern California where there are more Asian foods so maybe that's why I have a bit higher expectation, but I think overall this restaurant is still very good.

Great service, and the ambiance has an older traditional feel to it. Clean and welcoming inside. I ordered the Broccoli Dish and Fresh Rolls. The rolls were very fresh and had great flavor. I liked they served two different sauces with the dish. My broccoli and chicken was amazing. The sauce was perfect. The chicken was tender and prepared perfectly. Very happy with my visit, I will be back again.

The first half dozen times I came, was during 2020 and 2021 and they did not allow anyone inside beyond a tiny 3'x3' space at the far door. Take out only. I recall my review mentioned service time quoted wrong and inconsistent spice level. Well, those two were problematic tonight. I didn't ask and wasn't told how long food would be. Shortly after placing my order a group of young people walked in like they owned the place and sat at a long table that had dishes added to it as they were coming in. My food took 30+ minutes. The Tom kha seafood... I think the seafood may have been frozen and re-thawed a couple of times as it had a strange combination of textures within a piece of meat and pieces were very chewy. The spiciness, asked for medium but not too hot, like mild-medium. My liquidy yellow curry chicken was barely mild. The soup, was just sweet. Tbe rice was abundant but soggy/clumpy. The inside is absolutely lovely. I took tons of pictures for my first visit inside. I was told most was imported from Thailand. I believe it. I'm just not able to get myself to find the food good enough for me. Sad.

It felt a little too Americanized, the quality wasn't as consistent as we wanted, and if we were craving Thai food, we would usually go somewhere else instead. Something has clearly changed for the better. We've been coming back more and more lately, and after this most recent visit, I can comfortably say AT Thai Kitchen has earned its way back onto our list. The biggest surprise for me was the boat noodle soup. I work for a Thai food company, so I've spent a lot of time around Thai food and have had plenty of opportunities to compare different versions here in the U.S. with what you would actually get in Thailand. Obviously, nothing here is going to taste exactly the same as eating a bowl of boat noodles in Thailand, but this gets surprisingly close. I'd say maybe 75-80% of the way there, which is honestly very good by U.S. standards. The broth was rich, savory, aromatic, and had that deeper flavor I was hoping for. For me, this is currently the best boat noodle soup I've had in Folsom. And that gives this place another advantage. Sometimes when I'm craving a hot, comforting bowl of noodle soup around Folsom, pho is the obvious choice. I like pho, but sometimes you just want something different. If I'm craving noodle soup but want a break from pho, AT Thai Kitchen is becoming one of my go-to alternatives. We also ordered the som tum and chose Thai hot, the highest spice level. They were not kidding. I was sweating like crazy, but I kept eating it anyway. That's probably the best compliment I can give it. It had the heat, acidity, crunch, and funky savory character I want from a good Thai papaya salad. Very spicy, very satisfying, and much more authentic than I expected. The Thai iced tea was also good. Like most Thai iced tea in the U.S., it was sweeter than what you would normally get in Thailand, but by American Thai restaurant standards, it was perfectly enjoyable. What I appreciate most is the change. This used to be a place I wouldn't really think about when choosing Thai food in Folsom. Now I'm actively thinking about coming back when I want boat noodles, som tum, or just something different from my usual noodle soup rotation. That is a pretty big turnaround. Four stars from me this time. Authentic flavors, real heat when you ask for it, excellent boat noodles, and a restaurant that has clearly improved in a very noticeable way. I'll definitely be back.

While doing some work in this part of Sacramento, I decided to grab lunch even though it was on the…read moreend of a traditional lunch hour, which is usually how I roll anyway. I've been craving good Thai food for a hot minute, and YELP to the rescue! Kaidao is located in a strip mall with several other restaurants. They're only open until 2:30 in the afternoon for lunch, and have an entire menu that is devoted to a ton of lunch items. It's a small restaurant, and there is extremely limited seating. There's a huge sign on their front door, telling customers and anyone else that if you wish to use the restroom that basically forget it they're not going to allow you to use the restroom. The restaurant opened up sometime in the middle of the pandemic and they've been there ever since. The restaurant seems to be run by a couple with the wife in the back cooking, and the husband taking care of the front end of the restaurant. That means he does the seating, the ordertaking, and brings everything to the table, as well as cleans up afterwards. Pictures can be deceiving. I ended up ordering the pad Thai noodles with beef. I was really looking for a lot of protein, and would have preferred chicken, but when I glanced over at the table next to me, they had a chicken dish with chicken exactly the way I don't like it. Slice pieces of white meat that taste like sawdust that has been compressed together. I just find that very rarely is it ever tasty, moist or flavorful. I ordered a Thai tea, and asked if the beef or if there was another protein that would be recommended. He insisted beef was really good. So beef it was. I had to remind him twice that I had ordered a Thai tea before he brought it to the table because it was obvious that he had forgotten. The Thai tea was pretty tasty. It was also very strong. Something that I was definitely in favor of at that time of day, but it just caught me off guard. I will say this was the best part of the meal! When my lunch arrived, you can tell by the pictures that it looks tasty. It was sadly disappointing. The noodles were not cooked all the way through and were rather hard, and I would say less than al dente. Not something that's expected in a Thai dish. All if not, most dishes can be ordered with whatever heat level you desire. This was not one of them. It was prepared mild, which was fine, it just lacked enough sauce, and sadly had even less flavor to it. It's like they skimp on the sauce for whatever reason. The beef was also exactly what I did not want and was prepared like the chicken dish Was at the table next to me. Small little tiny thin slices that were not seasoned, and was overcooked. Just overall it was not a good dish. What I did like, was a presentation of the dish. I like the fact that there was the nuts, and veggies on the side so that I could incorporate them into my dish as well as lime slices. I am thanked the man for the lime because I think it really makes these dishes taste fresh. I think if they were to cook the noodles so that they are done, add more sauce and flavor, and not overcook the meat. This would've been a great dish.

Located in the North Highlands area of Sacramento, this place is directly on Watt Ave and situated in a small strip mall next to one of my other favorite local restaurants, Sol Cubano. Parking can get quite packed and for some that don't venture to this neck of the woods, this is a sketchy area, especially at night. But once you step food inside, you will forget you're at one of Sacramento's top-rated Thai restaurants. Much to my surprise, this place has been around since 2013 and it took me well over a decade to finally try them out. I came here with my lady during the evening of Sunday 9/20/2026 at around 6:30pm. Since the exterior parking area was packed, we knew it would be busy. Luckily when we entered the main entrance, we were greeted and immediately seated (towards the back). I will say that this place has an old school mom-and-pop feel to it with lots of nostalgic items and knick-knacks as if you're truly dining in someone's home. If you're looking for an upscale dining experience, this place ain't for you. But the service and ambiance really wowed me the entire time I was here. Their menu is quite extensive with a huge assortment of appetizers, salads, curry dishes, BBQ, seafood, fried rice, and of course all the Thai noodle classics. Since I am no stranger to Thai food, I knew exactly what I wanted. I chose their "Beef Pad See-Ew" (priced decently at $13.50). This wildly popular Thai dish consisted of pan-fried noodles w/eggs, broccoli, Chinese broccoli, cabbage, and sweet soy sauce. Since I don't like my food spicy, I went with a heat level '1" which is the mildest amount of spice. My lady went with their "Chicken Drunken Noodles" (also priced at $13.50). Her dish is spicier with fresh chilis and other sauces to elevate the heat factor to a 3 out of 5. We also both split an order of "White Rice" while ordering two (2) "Thai Iced Teas" (priced at $4.50/each) to complete our order. Our waiter (who was the same guy that seated us) brought out two (2) iced waters w/lemon while our Thai Iced Teas arrived shortly thereafter. I will say that these were made to perfection (and as you can see from the photo), you get a decent amount. As for my Pad See-Ew; this absolutely hit the spot and was quite filling. The noodles were made perfectly while the seasoned beef was quite tender. I also tried some of her Drunken Noodles and this too was a phenomenal dish with the perfect amount of sweet, savory, salty, and spicy. I've been to my share of Thai restaurants, and this place absolutely ranks at the top in the Sacramento area. Best of all, I was only able to finish 60% of my meal which made for great leftovers the following day. All in all, "House of Thai Rice & Noodle" in North Highlands is the real deal. Don't let the location steer you away because you will soon forget about that real quick. The employees that work here are genuinely sweet and made sure we had an amazing dining experience from start to finish. Keep in mind that they are closed on Mondays. But they are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11am-3pm (for lunch) and 5-9pm (for dinner). Come hungry because they give you a ton of food. With amazing service, very reasonable prices, and delicious Thai food that will beg you to come back, I am giving House of Thai Rice & Noodle a perfect five-star rating.

We got our orders and food in very fast. Portions were huge! I paid about $23 for the beef pad Thai, during the dinner time (like 6:30pm). I could only eat half and had to take the rest to go. It was great pad Thai, and there was a lot of beef in it.

I've ordered the pad see ew and I don't know if they have different cooks depending on time of day, but the first time I ordered it is was way overcooked and the noodles were mushy and not edible. I said something to the waitress, but she just blew it off as she that how it's made. The second time I ordered it the noodles were cooked to perfection no mushy inedible noodles and the flavor was amazing. I ordered there veggie curry with a side of sticky rice and it was so delicious I wish I ordered one to go. The inside is nice they have a great bar that can concoct some excellent drinks. They also have outdoor seating which I always prefer when dining here. Definitely check them out. When it comes to Thai food they definitely aren't my first pick, but the vibe can be good.
