Cha Thai absolutely exceeded my expectations. We originally came to the plaza for Wingstop, but after parking right in front of this place, we decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did. I ordered the Rad Na, and it was easily a 10/10. The gravy was rich, savory, and full of flavor without being too heavy. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the veggies had that ideal texture tender with just the right amount of crunch. We also had the chicken pad Thai, which really impressed me. Normally I find myself adding a lot of lime to boost the flavor, but this dish was already well-balanced and delicious on its own. Just a squeeze of lime made it even better. The service really stood out too. Our waiter was attentive and thoughtful he made sure I'd be okay with a water-based noodle dish and took the time to explain what Rad Na is before I ordered. The restaurant is very open and inviting.. cutely decorated. the service was good.. he was attentive but felt rushed when ordering a bit lol overall it was a good experience. We ordered the sample platter that came with a variety of appetizers .. eggrolls, shrimp rolls, chicken satay, fish cake, cream cheese wonton, fried tofu and steamed dumplings.. for $19.99 not bad at all.. everything on it was delicious! Came with 4 different sauces that complimented the different items. I'm glad I got that to try the different items. We also was given a complimentary salad.. it was actually refreshing .. dressing was like a citrus Asian dressing. The chicken satay is a very generous portion of chicken, and the chicken is moist and deliciously seasoned. The peanut sauce is delicious as well - good consistency and great flavor. The mango crispy chicken is one of the tastiest dishes I've had. Perfectly fried chicken paired with a sweet, mildly spicy sauce and sautéed mango, red bell pepper and onion make a near perfect bite. The experience overall was solid. The restaurant was empty upon pickup but the waiter was nice. The service was quick, and all the food was piping hot upon pickup. Portions were decent, and everything was packaged well with no spills or leaks. Beef Pad See Ew (3.5/5): The dish had a generous portion of noodles but could have used more beef. While the seasoning was okay, the noodles hadn't fully absorbed the flavors, and some pieces weren't completely cooked or coated. Tom Yum Soup (3.5/5): The soup came with plenty of mushrooms, which had a nice crunch, and they were generous with the chicken. Unfortunately, the chicken was a bit too dry for my liking. The broth itself leaned overly sweet, which threw off the balance. A touch less sweetness and more sourness or savoriness would have really elevated it. We ordered steamed rice on the side. The salad was sad, and we ordered several items however the spring rolls were the best of the bunch. Lacked Thai flavors, seemed more like Chinese flavors and overall bland. I don't fault restaurants for using MSG in their dishes/sauces etc but I really dislike when they lie about it. I appreciate so much that the host at Cha Thai was completely honest about which dishes on their menu contain MSG, whether it was added by the restaurant or already in premade sauces/broths. Cha Thai accommodated the requests/modifications without question or mistakes. We ordered the green curry, pumpkin curry, ginger, and eggplant basil dishes with fresh rolls to start off. Ultimately I was impressed by how fresh everything was. I enjoyed the eggplant basil dish (this one had no modifications) and the vegetables still had some crunch to them. Arrived home and the pad thai was not bad... lots of noodles, could use more bean sprouts & green onions, and a bit more on the sweet side. The chicken satay was not what I was expecting & didn't look anything like the photo in their menus or online. Very disappointing, the taste was off... over cooked, left over, orange chicken! I wasn't able to eat 1 full chicken satay on the skewer! The price for this is $10.95, which in my opinion is over priced for the quality of chicken & how it's prepared.
