Came here because I saw a video on IG and it went hard, but it was very empty when we came for dinner. Overall experience was decent but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. We got 2 sushi rolls & fried ika. Nothing too unique. Most of their rolls seemed to be very similar to each other so they all kind of tasted the same. The fried ika was nice, they had 2 type of calamari and we picked this one because it seemed a bit more traditional. It was fried very nicely. Interior is cute, very small.

We absolutely love this sushi restaurant. Everyone has such a great attitude and are very nice. The chefs do ana amazing job. Splurge and get the chefs creation roll. We get it every time we go, and they always make it different than the time before. Perfection every time! We are excited to try their Omakase experience next!

Great place for Japanese food! We came in and were seated immediately. Our drink orders were taken while we looked at the menu. Once our food orders were taken, it didn't take long for them to arrive at our table. And the staff were always there for you, for additional orders or drink refills. The place was beautifully decorated! The decor was pleasing to the eyes, and the place was well lit. And most of all, the price was really affordable. Compared to our preferred Japanese place, Wabune runs circles around it - for the service, for the ambiance, the quality of the food and especially the price! If you're in the area and looking for Japanese, this is the place!

Even smaller cut of sashimi

I love supporting local spots, but I was disappointed with my visit today. I've been here several times (dine-in, takeout, and DoorDash) and usually enjoy their rolls, selection of premium fish like toro and uni, and the customer service has always been good. However, the sashimi portion today was very small--especially for $45. The pieces looked like they were cut in half and the amount didn't feel worth the price. There was also a lot of lemon placed in the middle, which affected some of the fish. I'll still come back for rolls and nigiri, but I'll be skipping the sashimi and chirashi going forward.

Came in on a Monday night and it was pretty empty. Kind of a dimly lit restaurant. We ordered the ika geso and it was probably my favorite dish of the night. Also got the beef pan fried noodle. I wasn't really a fan of the noodle texture. It seemed too firm but the dish came with lots of beef. Also has veggies like carrot, broccoli, and zucchini. Got the rocky and dragon rolls and both were yummy!

A new neighborhood sushi joint ? Yes! It's exactly what we needed . When I had seen that soho express had went out of business and wabune took over , I was really happy ! The pictures of what wabune had to offer looked really good ! Eric is always so nice when seating people and both chef Mike and chef g do everything so well when it comes to preparing diand making sure customers satisfaction is a top priority . I'm here every week and recommend some of my favorites : hamachi carpaccio , albacore on fire , the Taj Mahal, yon , amazing torched , and the Chu toro . Everything from the ambiance , food, and customer service is top notch . I highly recommend !

Veggie Udon

I recently had lunch here with my husband and another couple. Service was genuinely friendly. I had Tonkatsu Ramen. I realize this is first and mostly a sushi restaurant, not a Ramen restaurant. I felt my Ramen was underwhelming, with the broth lacking in depth of flavor. I also missed a few ingredients that are often (not always) used, such as Kikurage mushrooms and bamboo shoots. The chashu was tasty. My husband had Veggie Udon, which he liked quite a bit. It came with a few rectangular blocks of steamed tofu, and also had several pieces of broccoli, cabbage, mushrooms, and cucumber. He found the noodles cooked to his liking, and the broth tasty. The other couple in our party both enjoyed their selections. So, overall, a very good experience. For me, it was a 3 out of 5, but as the others all enjoyed their picks more, and for the friendly service, I'm going to bump it up to 4.

I've seen this restaurant post a lot in the community groups so I decided to try it. I would closer consider this a 3.5/5 however in comparison to other small sushi restaurants I can't bump it up to 4. I had 2 rolls. Appetizer and dessert Black widow roll - it needs more sauce. The outside has nice texture and flavor. But the crab mix and cream cheese on the inside is lacking sauce and flavor. Spicy tuna roll (I forget the name) - this was delicious. Had a light kick. Stuffed mushroom - this was really good. Ice cream - not my cup of tea. So the main reason why I say I can't give it a higher rating and bumped down to 3 is because they have a limited menu and their sushi is pricy. The average roll is $16-18. Most of the rolls are tuna, shrimp, salmon, crab. This compared to a similar restaurant like sushi hook. Their rolls are around $11-12 and a large variety of offerings. More variety and reduced pricing would definitely bump up the rating. $18 is almost mikunis and arigato level of pricing.

They just recently opened and maybe they are still short staffed in the kitchen because service was slow. We got seated right away, our orders taken as soon as we were ready but our food took a while to come out. Kitchen was busy fulfilling to go orders. Food was just ok: Agedashi tofu - crispy on the outside and soft inside with yummy dipping sauce. Be careful when eating because this one is served fresh from the frying pan so it is hot. Wicked shrimp - I was not a fan of the sauce Petra roll - the creamy sauce was overpowering and the sushi wasn't rolled tightly so it breaks apart easily. This is one of the chef's specialty and I think there's too much happening with this roll that the flavors just did not work for me. It wasn't bad I would order something different next time. They had a TV playing the college football game. The place has fish lights which was interesting. Casual vibe and set-up.

Agedashi tofu & hamachi carpaccio

PSA: if you use a portable LED light at a restaurant to take food pics, be spatially aware and don't shine the light straight at another patron lol. I was being blinded by an Instagrammer while I was eating. Also seemed like she knew someone working there so she received extra care by the whole staff crew in terms of service..... Anyway, the food that I tried here was just alright. I enjoyed the crispiness of the agedashi tofu but very skimpy on the dashi broth. Also, too heavy-handed on the bonito flakes making the appetizer a bit salty. Not the most melt-in-your-mouth hamachi in the hamachi carpaccio and the fried leeks on top had a jarring charred taste. Delicious sauce for the hamachi though. Service: kinda alluded to it earlier but I left the place feeling cold-shouldered by the staff as more attention went towards the Instagrammer (she and I were the only ones dining at the time). Overall I've experienced better soft openings but this spot is still worth a shot if you live in the vicinity and have a general hankering for some Japanese grub.

Nigiris, amazing Torched roll, 2 spider rolls, baked salon roll YUMMMYYY!

Love their food and how fresh it is! The nigiri fish-to-rice ratio is amazing. It's not super busy, but I hope everyone gets a chance to try their sushi! big rolls, super fresh, and great flavor. 10/10

Always a great experience when coming here to eat. My best friend and I came around 8:30pm and was greeted with a smile. Thank you to Chef Mike, Bryan and Kim for treating us with so much respect and not rushing us to finish up our food. Everything we ordered was top notch. Melting bon bon - 10/10 Albacore on fire - 10/10 Petra - 10/10 Taj Mahal - 10/10 Hamachi Carpaccio - 10/10 Large Sashimi platter - 10/10 Everything was splendid!! All of their fish was so fresh and melted in your mouth. Highly recommend it to anyone in the area. Also, I highly recommend the sake called Yaegaki sake Junmai. That sake was so smooth and definitely got the other sake's running for their money. The renovations from the last time we came definitely gave the place a more welcoming and inviting aura!

We came here on a weekday evening and were the only customers initially. Towards the middle of our visit, there were a few more parties but it was still a slow night. The service was quick even though we took a long time to figure out what we wanted to order. There were several servers who assisted us and checked up a few times. The sushi was good, but they did forget to provide their grand opening discount towards our bill.

My only complaint, the size of the drink- it's pretty small. But it's also about normal for these kinds of drinks so it's to be expected. First let me start by saying... FROYO!!…read more I'm a big fan of frozen yogurt, and when the flavors and toppings are this stacked, I'm basically a kid in a candy store. Ambiance: 7/10 It's a yogurt shop, so don't expect much in terms of decor... but honestly, that's not what we're here for. The focus is the froyo. They've got some indoor seating along the wall and a small aarea in the back, enough to chill if you're not taking it togo. Service: 5/10 It's a self serve place, so interaction is minimal. Only reason I'm knocking it down is because it took a while for someone to come out from the back when I needed a sample cup. Once I had that, I was good to go. Food: 10/10 I sampled about 6 different flavors (zero shame), and settled on cheesecake and chocolate raspberry truffle....SO good. I went full dessert mode and topped it with cheesecake bites (a must for me), cookie dough bites, brownies, cherries, you get the picture. It was glorious, and I had leftovers for a second round later. Thanks, Yogurtland, for being loaded with options and not skimping on the good stuff. I'll definitely keep coming back for my froyo fix.
