However, I started looking to refinance immediately. I have had financed cars with Patelco Bank before so I decided to go back to them. I went to Fremont branch there I met with Madhuri. Very sweet and yet professional in her work. She gathered all of my information and told me I will get a call. Sure thing! I mostly used this account for bill pay as I had a monthly 401 distribution going there. A couple of months ago I paid a bill and when the receiver said they didn't receive it I argued that it had cleared my bank. When after waiting a bit to see if it was their mistake (it wasn't), I called Fremont bank and the rep said they would stop payment on that check and issue another one. When I got billed a $29.50 late fee from my HOA I called FB again and asked that they reimburse me for that fee. The manager's stand was they deduct the $$ from my acct when they SEND the check. I argued that it should NOT be deducted from my acct until the check clears. He refused to reimburse me and said he would have the branch where I opened the account review it and call me. I never received a call and I honestly can't believe their way of paying bills and how they handled this. Good riddance Fremont Bank!
