Best salon in Chicago! I have been seeing Crystal and Robyn since before Crystal opened this salon. I drive from the northwest suburbs because no one else compares. I decided to get balayage one time at a reputable salon in the suburbs and I regretted it so much! Everyone in at the salon is the sweetest. Every time I get my hair done I feel like I get to hang out with some of my close girlfriends for a couple hours. It's just so much fun and it's a bonus that my hair looks fantastic! Crystal also did my hair for my wedding...which was in Milwaukee Wisconsin because I do not trust anyone else! I've been going to the salon for just about a year and couldn't pass up their bridal package after seeing the photos throughout the salon. Whether it is for beautiful balayage, a cut or for an updo, this shop is the place to go. The ambience is high scale salon with a person feel. Crystal is the kind of stylist that will do exactly what you want even if you have trouble describing it. She knows what makes people beautiful based on their face shape down to eyebrow color! I had a literal fried mullet when I came in and now I have shiny healthy hair. It's sort of an issue because I can't stop looking at myself. I've gotten extensions, bayalage, highlights, cuts..basically everything and loved it every time. Robyn is my girl but Crystal is incredible too. Not only are they talented, they're also smart and honest AKA they won't let you get reckless post break-up with your man when you want to do something wild and fry your hair off. I once dared to go somewhere else and they turned my blonde hair orange, but Robyn fixed it instantly and didn't murder me for my betrayal. But I deff learned my lesson. I will be going here until the day that I die, they will never be able to get rid of me. Only complaint is Robyn does not bring in fresh baked goods every time I come in. read more

Crystal is amazing. I have followed her everywhere and her new salon is my absolute favorite. Warm, inviting, and great music. Her haircuts, styles and color are remarkable! She really listens to your requests and makes them a reality. Recently she gave me the Pro Fiber treatment and it took my hair from dry and lifeless to shiny and soft. AMAZING PRODUCT! I am obsessed with my hair. I went in to add some more blonde to my hair and Robyn did an amazing job at doing it. Robyn added some bolyage while leaving it decently rooty to grow in nicely. She also did an amazing deep conditioning treatment, that made my hair feel the healthiest it's been on my going blonde journey, and a nice blunt textured cut. I couldn't be happier with my color and cut! I felt like a rockstar leaving the salon. When you have a stylist do your hair with confidence and they truly listen to what you say, it makes you feel really confident you'll get what you want. Stop what your doing and book this salon if you want killer color! I saw Robyn and she nailed it, and now I feel like I have "cool girl" hair :) She has a great eye for color and trends. I made the appointment because it had been so long since I did anything with my hair and I needed a boost. I asked for an ombré balayage mix for my boring brown hair and it turned out totally awesome. I have received so many compliments! The color POPS and I feel like I got what I paid for and more. It took years to find the right stylist, which I did when I found Crystal at another salon several years ago. I transitioned to her new salon (despite it being further away and thus less convenient) because she is worth it. I especially love how she knows (my) hair, which is evident in the fact that she cuts and adds texture in ways that works well with my hair type. I have not had very good luck with finding someone who understands what I want done to my hair in terms of color. In the past I would ask for highlights and end up with bleach blonde hair. I would ask for balayage and would be told "that's not what you really want" (even though I brought in photos of other people who had balayage done). After searching #chicagobalayage on instagram I came across some photos of Crystal's work. I loved everything I saw and decided to make an appointment. I wasn't thrilled about driving 50 minutes to have her color my hair, but I decided I would give her a shot. I couldn't be more happy with my experience. She and her assistant were both very welcoming and made me feel very comfortable right away. She got to work, and I could tell immediately that she was different from any other stylist that has colored my hair. She's an artist. It's easy to see that she has a lot of experience, talent, and passion for her job. The whole atmosphere was so relaxing and peaceful. Robyn is the best! I'm a wedding planner in Chicago and had heard about Sogna di Vita through a girl I work with who had done a few weddings with Crystal & Robyn (and gets her own hair done by them!). Once I looked at their Instagram, I was SOLD. I'm a natural darker blonde and have always had the hardest time finding a colorist who can master the "natural but still bright" look - Every photo on their page was exactly what I would have screenshotted and chosen as my "inspiration photo" so I decided I just had to go! Not only is their shop the cutest, but Cyrstal & Robyn are both so sweet, so welcoming, etc. and just made the entire experience so wonderful from start to finish. When I usually go to a salon, it never feels right. The atmosphere, the people...it just never works for me. Sogna di Vita, on the other hand, is something that's a rare find. First of all, the salon is beautiful! It has an industrial, vintage look with subtle decor and lavender walls. These days salons look so minimalistic and bright that it could be a little overwhelming so I felt that this made my experience a lot more relaxing. Crystal and Robyn are awesome, they definitely exceeded my expectations since I would always dread going to a salon. You cant find anyone better than Crystal, I have crazy curly easy to damage hair that is impossible to deal with that most of the time I would cover my head with a bandana and when it comes to getting it styled and finding anyone that can get it right is hell. Every time when I go to Crystal it's perfect! Most times when you find someone this good they tend to lack in customer service (you know the type they often feel there above everyone else), this is not the case with Crystal, once you go see her you'll never let anyone else touch your hair, that was the case with me, when I first went to her I was so fed-up with my hair that I told here cut it any way she things it will not just look good but be easy for me to get ready every morning. I just moved to the area and read the reviews and was super excited about trying the salon. The stylist who took care of me was very sweet but appeared to be very new to the business of doing hair She was very nervous and consulted extensively with the other stylist (I believe Robyn who knocked out two amazing color jobs while I was there). I really should have walked out at that point because it was clear she had no clue. The color was applied ok and the shampoo was very poor. Water everywhere and I had to go back to he re rinsed. The color is not what I wanted, way too warm... the blow dry was terrible. Honestly this girl was so so nice but should not be doing hair! I feel truly heartbroken leaving this review. So impressed with the salon!! It is on the smaller side which is nice, you don't feel rushed and impersonal like other bigger salons. Crystal gave me a fabulous cut and color, after asking me lots of likes and dislikes and really studying my hair. The other stylist there Robyn washed and styled my hair- she is also fantastic and gave the best head massage ever. It felt like a team trying to get everyone's hair done and not each stylist out for their own. Prices are average for Chicago and there is plenty of free street parking.
