Update 05.19.26 Five…read moremonths later, and I am still paying interest on the emotional debt of this haircut. Eileen Coria's "weed-whacker assault" has mutated into an unmanageable nightmare that is still too short to professionally tie back. The crooked neckline has grown out into a bizarre hair tail that refuses to blend, making my current daily look best described as a cartoon character. I am updating this review because a truly bad haircut takes months--if not a full year--to grow out, and the consequences don't just disappear when the salon issues a refund. *********************************************************** Avoid Eileen Coria. My December 27, 2025, appointment was a disaster. After the salon failed to notify me prior that my regular stylist was away, co-owner Anna recommended Eileen. I asked for a short bob with long layers. Instead, I got severe asymmetry, one-inch layers that flip out wildly, and a completely crooked neckline. The salon refunded my money, but a refund doesn't fix the emotional toll or the months it will take to grow this out. This cut is structurally ruined and will require expensive corrective appointments to fix. Deeply disappointed.

As soon as I walked in the door to make the appointment, I knew it was a special place. Comfortable, well-designed, busy without being frantic. The manager was welcoming, personable and listened to my request, asked good questions, gave even better answers. Sam, who I picked from the website bio's, was on board with pruning my outgrown, thick hair. She improved on the basic cut and made my hair swing. Sam knows HT cut hair, understands proportion and face structure, and applies her knowledge of making art to create a great look for me. The checkout/reschedule was hassle-free and unhurried. It looks like everyone in the shop takes turns at the front desk as needed. A detail like that tells a lot about how a business is run and how employees are treated. In this case, respected and valued. I like that the surcharge to services covers insurance for employees. Proof that this small business knows how to keep good people. Again, excellent overall experience and kudos to Sam, the owners and the rest of the staff.

Then, I sat down and we discussed what I wanted and she gave her input as well. Then she gave a very relaxing massage with some of the Aveda essential oils. She cut then washed my hair. I was looking for full-coverage highlights that would make me as blonde as possible, and that's exactly what I got. For context: I have very long and thick hair. Over the years of getting highlights, I've found that it's hit or miss whether a stylist/salon can give me the full-coverage look I want, since for my hair that takes a lot of time (like 4 or 5 hours) and requires a TON of product. Not every stylist is willing or able to go above the standard number of foils and devote that kind of time, which is totally understandable. But it makes me all the more grateful/impressed when I find a stylist like Nick who is willing to go above and beyond (he spent more than four hours on my hair) to achieve a perfect end result. I was also shocked by how affordable the price was. In my opinion, the quality of Nick's work was on par with some of the most expensive highlights I've ever gotten (and I usually end up paying way above base price since most salons up-charge based on the amount of product your hair requires). But even including tip, the total I paid here was remarkably affordable compared to other salons I've been to. In short, I strongly recommend booking an appointment with Nick if you're someone like me who has very thick hair and wants full-coverage highlights!

I booked an all-over color to touch up my roots and a trim with Mary. I've had the same copper hair…read morecolor for over five years, and all I asked for was a simple root touch-up with an all-over color that was a slightly more vibrant copper tone for the summer. The only reason I booked here instead of with my regular stylist was because she didn't have any appointments available before two events I'd been looking forward to all summer. Instead, I left with severely overprocessed "hot roots" that were patchy--bright orange in some spots, still brown in others--while the rest of my hair looked barely touched. Under the salon lighting, with my hair styled, I couldn't fully see the damage. Once I got home, washed, and dried my hair, the uneven color became obvious. I also realized my curtain bangs had been cut unevenly. As a student, this appointment was a splurge, so I called the next morning to see if someone could fix it. The stylist who squeezed me in was kind, understanding, and genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, because she had to leave to pick up her son from summer camp, she wasn't able to fully blow-dry my hair before I left. Once I got home and saw my hair completely dry, I realized the correction hadn't worked. The top half of my hair was now a completely different color than the bottom, and the patchiness was still there--just a darker shade of red. When I called again to request a refund, I explained that I no longer felt comfortable having anyone at the salon work on my hair. The owner, Ben, insisted that I come back to the salon so he could see the results in person before considering a refund, so I did. I made it clear that I was only there to show him the results, not to have anyone else touch my hair. During that conversation, Ben repeatedly claimed that Mary had told me from the beginning that achieving my desired color would be "a process." That simply isn't true. The only time Mary and I discussed something being "a process" was during a completely separate conversation about possibly adding pink underneath my hair in the future. At no point did she ever tell me that touching up the same copper color I've maintained for over five years would require multiple appointments. If she had, I would have declined the service. What disappointed me most was how the situation was handled. Rather than acknowledging the poor results or working toward a fair resolution, Ben continued insisting that I had been told something I wasn't. After returning twice to give the salon the opportunity to see and address the issues, I left feeling dismissed and as though my honesty was being questioned. I chose this salon because I'd had a good haircut here before and thought a simple root touch-up would be straightforward. Instead, I left with damaged, uneven color, an uneven haircut, and a very disappointing customer service experience. I won't be returning, and I cannot recommend this salon.

Now I have to go somewhere else to get a proper layered haircut. Honestly, I was never all that impressed with this salon to begin with, and now I understand why. The staff isn't very friendly, especially the front desk receptionist and Pam (the owner) tends to stay in the back, avoiding customers at all costs.
