The gelato wasn't as out of this world as I'd hoped. There were only a few flavors, and while it was okay, I wish there were more to choose from. It tastes pretty watery, and I hoped it would be more like ice cream. The price was a bit high, and the portions definitely didn't match it. The people were nice and helped to the best of their ability. The place was also very neat and clean.

The Sweet Cream flavor and the London Fog flavor go together quite well!

Sofie's Scoops Gelato is a good place in Olympia to swing by for gelato! It's in a building designed like a market area with several merchants there too so you can grab like some Mexican food for example and then swing by here for a sweet treat. I got a two flavor cup of gelato, the Sweet Cream and an Earl Grey fog flavor. The two blended together quite well and didn't make any unfortunate clashing upon the taste buds. Quite a few different flavors to pick from so that gives the place a good likelihood for return trips to explore for future trips. I am sure this place is quite popular during the summer months but a relative breeze with service during the cold months.

You can taste the difference between overly processed gelato and one made from good ingredients and Sofies Scoops is authentic! Great flavors and friendly staff! I just tried their banana gelato with chocolate chips and it was 10/10!

Evoo gelato was sooooooo good! Never had this flavor before, so worth it! My daughters had coffee gelato and the chocolate gelato and both had rave reviews. Service was quick and super friendly! The ambiance is hipster chill vibes, love it! Had to pay for parking but for a quarter we got 17minutes.

A fun filled day at the Children's Museum needs to end with ice cream so we headed to Sofie's Gelato for something special. The first one I read was the Black Tea Rose Gelato and I was set. It has the strong taste of black tea but it's subtle and mainly sweet. I am a huge fan! I ordered mine in a cone and it was extra sweet and delicious, you'll definitely want one! My little toddler friend loved her vanilla gelato and sat quietly until it was all gone so we know it must have been really good! The location is small and there are other restaurants in this market yet the aroma of Sofie's Gelato takes over and is so magically sweet. It was closer to closing so there was a spot available for us to sit but I recommend grabbing a quick scoop to go.

Delicious gelato on a Saturday after pizza and the children's museum! Small is definitely enough for a kid or an adult, and our scooper offered to make the scoops a little smaller for the kids cone if desired. A fun stop and no wait! Interesting flavors - we tried chocolate, salty caramel, rhubarb, and mixed berry. Sampled fennel! Loved the stop and the shop is cute!

It was about 105 degrees outside and this ice cream store came to the rescue. We had just finished our play time at the children's museum nearby. Everything and every place was closed due to the heat. What is a mom to do. Ice cream for lunch for sure. Lots of delicious flavors. We decided on pineapple, vanilla (it's called churned cream or something fancy), and strawberry. Creamy, delightful, and fresh. Line was literally wrapped around the building, there was ac inside but not strong enough for a day like that but you can only imagine how hot it was with the heat! My son approved and the only thing that sucks right now due to covid is that you're not allowed to sit and enjoy it there. No problem, we took it over to the nice hallway near the taco stand inside. I will definitely take my family here again to support a small business.

Pretty good gelato. Super cute setup. I love the decor and merch you can buy. The server wasnt very friendly. My mom is a big gelato fan so we get it as much as we can. Not the best gelato out there, but good. Still better than ice cream. The mango tajin was a fun flavor. I loved the mango, not a big fan of the tajin so i ended up getting the lemon. It was pretty good, but i wanted it to be more sour. It was a little sweeter than i like my lemon things.

If you are craving some luscious, creamy gelato, this is your place to go! They are a cute little shop inside 222 Market (don't waste your time looking for their storefront - just head inside and you'll find it. They offer a nice selection of house-made, small-batch gelato in some very tasty flavors. I had the coffee stracciatella and salted butterscotch- both were divine. Hubby had the chocolate almond and cinnamon - also delish and they tasted great together. We ordered the medium cups and they were sweetly satisfying. Service was quick and friendly. I haven't found gelato many places in the area, but this one is worth a visit - or a re-visit!

I really enjoyed the flavors here, the Olympia fog was a great combination. The area was clean the staff were friendly but there was just one shortfall: The cone. Honestly, I want to give Sofie's 4 stars because the flavors ARE really good. However, I've eaten at a lot of ice cream/gelato/custard spots, especially the artisanal type, in the past few years and if you want to be considered above average in my book, you need to provide the full experience. Apparently Sofie's make there own cones (according to another Yelper who corrected me). However, the cones taste super sugary and deliver a crystallized crunchy mouth feel, likely from the melted cane sugar. I guess what I'm looking for is something a little more naturally sweet tasting to nibble on at the end, so maybe a waffle cone option would be a great addition. read more

This was the perfect treat on a hot day - A/C, cute decor, and refreshing gelato in fun and interesting flavors. I love that the gelato isn't too sweet. The handmade waffle cones are also delightful - crunchy and substantial with a nice bite of cinnamon. This place is cute, and hipster-ish from the decor. The staff member who helped my friend and I was really sweet. She guided us through the flavors, as it was our first time here. We sampled a few and I ended up getting a chocolate mint flavored gelato and a (white) mint flavored gelato with chocolate chips. Although the flavor was definitely there, my gelato was quite icy. It was a unique store, but I'm not sure that I would return. The customer service is great though. read more

Gelato was dope! Great selections of flavors made from scratch. They even have a vegan/non-dairy flavors for the allergy kids and health nut folks. I ordered the "Scouts Honor" chocolate chips with Girl Scout's thin mints. The second scoop was honey stracciatella. Really good chocolate chip gelato with a hint of honey. Pretty cool place and location that's connected to other restaurants. Friendly customer service and they do have a punch card to get free ice cream on your 8th or 10th purchase. I've gotta be as positive as possible here. Excellent service and they put out a good product. But we went yesterday and got our order and were on our way to a top notch experience. Then, out of nowhere all the employees that were working started having a managers or employee meeting right where we sat down. This didn't last a minute or two but five to ten, it was loud, distracting, and in our opinion completely uncalled for. It's not up to the customer where you decide to have your work meeting and we had no interest in being that up close and personal with the inner workings of a gelato shop. Sorry to rate so low but that totally tanked my experience. read more

Excellent and continuously changing flavors, yet: Always something for the adventurous and less adventurous palates. PLUS: There are vegan options and usually a xylitol-sweetened flavor for diabetic/Atkins/keto types. This is a truly wonderful addition to the Olympia cold sweets scene. read more

This place is cute & so are the other shops around!! I had the Mango and my boyfriend had the cream gelato. Mango was so good!! It tasted really fruity and not overly surgery. Personally not a big fan of the creme because reminded me of half and half. It's the perfect after dinner date dessert! Love how everything is compostable too! read more

Sofie's scoops are seriously sweet and sinful. My best gals and I rendezvoused in Olympia for a girls weekend, three of us from Seattle and one from Portland. All the flavors are delicious, and the scoops generous. So delightful, we came here three times in three days and collaboratively filled up an entire punch card together. My go-to was the Olympia Fog--a black tea based gelato with rose and vanilla. So unique, not too sweet, just right. And Sofie is as sweet as her scoops. read more

The best gelato, not just in Olympia, but in Washington. The flavors are great, creamy, smooth, and perfect pairs with others on the menu. This is a small business I HAVE to make a pit stop to support. Great tacos and margaritas from the Taquiria next door, and then finish it off with a scoop of delicious gelato from Sofie's stand. The BEST chocolate ice cream I've ever had, and it was DAIRY-FREE!! (Coconut cream) Worth driving back to Olympia for. And YES, they DO make their own waffle cones by hand, from scratch, right in front of you at the counter. Very good service! My siblings and I stumbled upon this little piece of heaven when looking for a nice dessert place in Olympia. It's a cute little shop at the entrance of a market space with a decent amount of seating in front. We were all so excited to see the unique flavors and super creamy texture of all the gelato. I got the lavender blueberry and Olympia fog, which went great together! I tried the aprium (plum and apricot) flavor too and was kind of bummed that I couldn't get three flavors because it was soooo good. Lots of places in the area were closed later in the evening, but thank goodness Sofie's Scoops was open! read more

Really good gelato and the waffle cone was excellent. Tasted just like a cookie. My wife and I had a scoop each of the butterscotch and coffee. The butterscotch was awesome and not too sweet and the coffee was great without being too strong or over powering. They didn't have too many flavors, maybe 10 total but the ones we sampled we're good too. It's inside a market place so it can be easy to miss if your looking for a sign on the outside of the building. read more

Nice little spot downtown. I tried their Olympia fog gelato that has early grey tea, rose, and vanilla. You have to try it! It was very tasty! Not sure if I would have been able to eat a bowl though! A cup, was just the right amount. Also really like their succulents on the wall, going to have to convince the hubby to build me something like that. Don't forget to ask for a punch card! read more

We came to Sofie's Scoops Gelato on an Olympia getaway. We love that they have yummy dairy free gelato and gluten-free cones. Their kids size is perfect! It was a busy Saturday evening which the server took in good humored stride while smiling and scooping to some fun background music. This place is obviously a hit with Olympians and has earned its place as somewhere we'll come back to when we visit again. read more

They always have 2 dairy free options options available and rotate flavors to keep it fresh! The other ice cream is AMAZING made with raw milk from a local farm. There is simply no comparison. Sweet cream is my personal favorite! read more

I shrug and shook my head and the server took that as me purchasing another drink. So now I have two drinks is that admittedly taste awful and I'm not going to drink, but have to pay full price for.

My son got the Euro Tart which was one of the machines pushed back. Don't know if there was a reason for being pushed back. He complained multiple times that it tasted really sour. I finally took a bite and it tasted like it had gone bad. I had him throw it away. It was too late and he had a stomachache for the rest of the night. Such a shame. My son liked coming here even though it wasn't my favorite. We will definitely not be returning. Unless you want your kid to eat rotten froyo, don't come here.
