Evoo gelato was sooooooo good! Never had this flavor before, so worth it! My daughters had coffee gelato and the chocolate gelato and both had rave reviews. Service was quick and super friendly! The ambiance is hipster chill vibes, love it! Had to pay for parking but for a quarter we got 17minutes.

A fun filled day at the Children's Museum needs to end with ice cream so we headed to Sofie's Gelato for something special. The first one I read was the Black Tea Rose Gelato and I was set. It has the strong taste of black tea but it's subtle and mainly sweet. I am a huge fan! I ordered mine in a cone and it was extra sweet and delicious, you'll definitely want one! My little toddler friend loved her vanilla gelato and sat quietly until it was all gone so we know it must have been really good! The location is small and there are other restaurants in this market yet the aroma of Sofie's Gelato takes over and is so magically sweet. It was closer to closing so there was a spot available for us to sit but I recommend grabbing a quick scoop to go.

Salty butterscotch over chocolate

Got a salty butterscotch scoop over a chocolate scoop. It was great. Not a lot of seating, but just enough to get a scoop and escape the heat.

Delicious gelato on a Saturday after pizza and the children's museum! Small is definitely enough for a kid or an adult, and our scooper offered to make the scoops a little smaller for the kids cone if desired. A fun stop and no wait! Interesting flavors - we tried chocolate, salty caramel, rhubarb, and mixed berry. Sampled fennel! Loved the stop and the shop is cute!

Pretty good gelato. Super cute setup. I love the decor and merch you can buy. The server wasnt very friendly. My mom is a big gelato fan so we get it as much as we can. Not the best gelato out there, but good. Still better than ice cream. The mango tajin was a fun flavor. I loved the mango, not a big fan of the tajin so i ended up getting the lemon. It was pretty good, but i wanted it to be more sour. It was a little sweeter than i like my lemon things.

It was about 105 degrees outside and this ice cream store came to the rescue. We had just finished our play time at the children's museum nearby. Everything and every place was closed due to the heat. What is a mom to do. Ice cream for lunch for sure. Lots of delicious flavors. We decided on pineapple, vanilla (it's called churned cream or something fancy), and strawberry. Creamy, delightful, and fresh. Line was literally wrapped around the building, there was ac inside but not strong enough for a day like that but you can only imagine how hot it was with the heat! My son approved and the only thing that sucks right now due to covid is that you're not allowed to sit and enjoy it there. No problem, we took it over to the nice hallway near the taco stand inside. I will definitely take my family here again to support a small business.

Delicious gelato & friendly service!

If you are craving some luscious, creamy gelato, this is your place to go! They are a cute little shop inside 222 Market (don't waste your time looking for their storefront - just head inside and you'll find it. They offer a nice selection of house-made, small-batch gelato in some very tasty flavors. I had the coffee stracciatella and salted butterscotch- both were divine. Hubby had the chocolate almond and cinnamon - also delish and they tasted great together. We ordered the medium cups and they were sweetly satisfying. Service was quick and friendly. I haven't found gelato many places in the area, but this one is worth a visit - or a re-visit!

Olympia Fog and Salted Butterscotch
Valerie Y.

My friends and I came to Olympia for a quick day trip and we were recommended Sofie's Scoops by so many people and websites! Sofie's Scoops is located inside a market, so there are some other shops nearby as well. Even though we came on a rainy day, the line was still long, which means the gelato fits any type of weather. I decided to get the Olympia Fog and the Salted Butterscotch as a split scoop - note that they do the two scoops side by side rather than top and bottom, which is great since this way the flavors don't mingle too much. I didn't realize we could also get samples, but the cashier was gracious enough to let me try a sample even after I ordered. The service is quick, the shop is very cute, I would definitely come here again for a quick snack if I were back in town.

Since one of my friends knew I haven't been here before for desserts, he decided to take me and out other friends here to try their gelato for the first time. I got a scoop of their marionberry swirl and had a taste of my bestie's salted caramel gelato. Both were really good though my marionberry had a lot more taste and wasn't as sweet as the salted caramel. Staff up front were very patient with us when we asked to try several of their flavors at once.

It makes me sad to write this 2-star review because Bottega Italiana has been my favorite gelato…read moreshop in Seattle for the past 15+ years. As you can see from my review years ago, when my hubs and I came back from a trip to Italy, we wanted to find a gelato shop that had the same quality as the shops in Rome. Not all the gelato and sorbetto we had in Italy was good, some flavors tasted artificial, and during our time there, we learned how to tell the good from the meh. When we returned to Seattle, we were happy to find great-Italy-like gelato at the Bottega Italiana in Green Lake. After that shop closed (still sad about that!) we started going to their other shop by Pike Place Market. For years, this place featured delicious, fresh, quality gelato and sorbetto that tasted like the flavors they were labeled with--so strawberry tasted like eating real strawberries and so on. But on a recent visit, I got a small cup with strawberry and raspberry-dragon fruit and the first flavor I got when I tasted it was sugar. As I ate more of it, it started to remind me of Jolly Rancher candies, not totally, but enough to turn me off. They use just enough fruit to make you believe it's the flavor that it's labeled with, but the amount of sugar and other things added makes their fruit flavors as meh as the not-so-good shops we learned to avoid in Rome. Alas, I think my favorite gelato shop in Seattle has fallen prey to profit over quality. Why, Bottega Italiana, why??? It makes me and my hubs very sad. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the service was friendly and efficient, and my hubs's dairy-based gelato flavors were all right--not great but all right. Over the years, we've tried all the other gelato shops in Seattle and none of them measure up either. I guess it's time we take another trip to Italy.

I ended up getting a small with vanilla and pistachio, and the pistachio (literally called "The Best") lived up to its name. However, there are standout flavors like waffle cone that I had to get, as well as the more traditional flavors like pistachio. I sampled the pistachio as they claimed it was the best in town but was a little disappointed since the flavor was not too apparent and it's not the true pistachio hue that I usually see for natural pistachio (it was more green). The flavors I ended up getting were the waffle cone and strawberry rhubarb. I liked the quality of the gelato but it was more on the icy texture than smooth. For the price of $6+tax, it is one of the pricier options around for the portion. If this was the best gelato in Seattle, I'd have written the price off as a premium for quality, but I've had a few spots that in my opinion are better in texture and flavor.
