This is an abbreviated review, because I had an unusual stay. I stopped there early (10:30) to meet up for a project. I asked if I could stay there until lunchtime and they had no problem with it. Very nice. When I got back to my car, on the basis of these reviews, I tried the blueberry milkshake. It's pretty much a pint of blueberries with however much ice cream they can fit in the blender. It tasted like drinking a blueberry vine. I'm in love and I only had one item on the menu. There is such a variety here - I want to try the crab soup and a lot of the other menu items. Excellent roadside food. Freshly prepared. Portions were huge. Salad with the gyro platter was an actual Greek salad. blue cheese burger had a slice of blue cheese - not just crumbles. Sat under the tent which is next to a busy road -noisy as expected. Not a problem. My friend and I were looking for a place where young kids could laugh and enjoy each other's company after a year of being coop up. Maybe COVID has caused the owner of this restaurant to forget her manners. She rudely yelled at us to keep our children down. Ok, maybe the four year olds were laughing. Maybe they we're excited after eating junk food and ice cream. Maybe I could relate if they were being unruly or out of control or if there were any other patrons in the place, but none of that was true. Food has potential- customer service was awful. I'll start my review as I sit here after 30 minutes waiting for four meals. So on to the food: My grilled chicken sandwich came out covered with cheese and looked pretty good. Cheese was not listed as a topping but since I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes, I committed to eating it. The ingredients all looked fresh so I had hope. Unfortunately, the chicken breasts (there were two- that's a plus) were overcooked and tough to eat. Bacon from chicken BLT was greasy. But again had a seriously nice helping of fresh ingredients. I was told the gyros were acceptable. As we ate 3 people came over to ask if everything was ok within two minutes. But not once in the 30 plus minutes we waited for food. Our receipt noted each of our drinks was $1.75. We had two waters (bottled) and 2 teeny-tiny fountain drinks (8 oz). I asked someone, who I assumed was the owner, why they were all the same price. I was told because the fountain drink had free refills. My response, "if we had to wait long for food, why didn't one of your employees ask if we needed more to drink?" She agreed and apologized. The menu list is full of your favorite classic boardwalk food. Everything was above standard. I must say the cheesesteak and gyros are better then most places in the surrounding areas. My party and I attempted to stop here on our way home from the shore. We were originally going to stop at Royale Crown at little further back the pike but were disappointed to find they were closed on (likely due to the Covid situation). So, we nearly missed this establishment, but parked our vehicles in the lot next to the place. We were walking up and one of the waitresses asked where our car was (this is apparently a "drive-in" style establishment), and we told her in the lot next door. I asked her if we can just order with her or one of the other staff and take the order back to our vehicle ourselves. She rudely stated "you're going to have to pull your car up, I'm sorry" in the most condescending way an 18-22 year old female could as she returned to whatever task she was working on. I stopped by this place because my friend and I were in the mood for a blueberry milkshake, after looking at the menu we decided to order the lamb and salad dish too. Man that salad was so fresh and and the lamb and pita were outstanding!
