This update is based on recent delivery orders. I still like their online ordering system which is very convenient and the menu has a nice variety of food. - Pasta - The pasta is good, not great but plentiful. We usually have enough for a few days of leftovers. - Pizza - The pizza has been good, but it's not my favorite anymore. Others in the town are much better. - Subs - The subs are large but I didn't like the tuna sub I ordered. Tuna on the bottom and lettuce/tomato on the top. I either got a bite of lettuce/tomato or tuna. It was too large to get a bite of both. - Calzones - Their calzones are awesome. My favorite item to order. - Salads - Nothing special at all - Soups - Good. The delivery is usually fast and friendly. read more

Just ordered our second take out from Marcello's. The online ordering is a breeze. Got chicken sorrento, arrived piping hot and is a huge portion. Ordered cavatelli as the pasta, cooked to perfection. Also got the pizza Rustica, also amazing and arrived hot. And the crispy breaded wings are absolutely delicious!! End of March I reserved the private room for a 70th birthday party on May 29, 2026. On May 22nd I called to go over a few things for the party. At that time they told me they double booked the private room and the other party was booked before mine!!!!! The solution they gave me was to have my party in the pizza room! I was devastated. I had family coming in from out of state and everything was set as planned. I called other places but nothing was available with such short notice. My only choice was to have my party there. I am not pleased with their lack of professionalism or management!!!!! My opinion is DO NOT book a private party at Marcellas in Hammonton! They are not trust-worthy. read more

I could not believe what I was watching. I sat down at a table with my mother. I ordered the eggplant focaccia sandwich. It was so delicious. But I could not help to keep turning around in my seat.. the man that was at the counter not in the kitchen was so bad that I had to mention it to the waitress , the man had no gloves on, he was making some type of pretzel ..So that wasn't too bad as long as his hands were clean..but then I turned around again and he opened up the cash register and was fixing up the tray and then closed it and then proceeded to make pizzas. Then he must've left then returned with wet hands. He took a paper towel wiped his mouth and then proceeded to dry off his hands with the same towel then turned and made pizzas with no gloves, he went to his nose for something I guess an itch, and then proceeded to make the pizzas. I told the waitress after I left, knowing he didn't make my sandwich, I was hoping the guys in the back had better hygiene. The manager needs to know about this. He does not belong in the food business. i'm sad to say that I will not go back there until it's corrected. read more

Had dinner here with a small group of friends. The staff was friendly and attentive. However, the table was not clean and had splotches of grease and chunks of garlic on it. I chose one of the specials which included shrimp and pasta...it came with only 5 medium sized shrimp on top of a large portion of so so tasting pasta. The amount of shrimp was very disproportionate to the large amount of pasta and very disappointing at $26! The sauce was tasty, though. Happy spontaneous find. Large menu, quite accommodating, tasty ingredients, large portions, certainly affordable, nice ambience, parking on street. Accommodated us, and our dog with outdoor seating, or server was very easy to engage, asked a couple questions before deciding on our meals. My wife had the cowboy sandwich, very tasty, moist and the horseradish gave it a little extra kick. Excellent side of sweet potato fries. I had the ahi tuna salad, a very please t surprise. Slices of Sushi grade ahi tuna were perfect size, and texture on a bed of a lovely salad with. Was surprisingly filling and most satisfying. We had an excellent dinner last night and highly recommend Marcello's Trattoria. The chicken sorrentino which is similar to Chicken Saltimbocca was very good. I had it with Rigatoni, Caesar salad and their crab bisque all of which were excellent along with their fresh bread. We will be back soon! read more

Well, as far as the food, it was just OK to me. I went out on a dinner date with my man and we ended up at this place. The ambience of the place was beautiful. They had nice pictures on the wall. They had the Christmas tree out which was nice And the view from the window was amazing. Now to the food I ordered lasagna, which came with a salad in which my man said the salad was good. Now when I got the lasagna, it looked good when I bought it out and it would have tasted good if it were much warmer on the inside. They made it look like it was really really good but on the inside, it really wasn't that warm. He ordered the meatballs he ordered pizza. He also ordered chicken wings now when it came to the pizza when I looked at it, it looked like it was warm but when he ate it, he said it looked good, but it wasn't Warm all the way through so it made it seem like the bottom of the pizza was cold. He said he liked the meatballs which it was made with the fresh ricotta in which I tasted the meatballs and they were good the chicken wings. He did not like he did not like all the breading that was on the chicken Wings so this place to us was OK when I go back I don't think so unless they have a coupon or something that they given out but other than that, I don't think I will go back, but like I said, it's a nice place. I was passing through Hammonton and I thought I would try out. One of the restaurants wasn't particularly hungry, but I like mozzarella and tomatoes. Normally, I've been served mozzarella and tomatoes, mozzarella, sliced in very clean slices and same with tomatoes they're our position on the plate in a nice neat presentation that's at least an attempt to make it pleasing for the eye The tomatoes and mozzarella that I was presented with look like they were hacked in quarters that was done and the way that was convenient for the person preparing for it. The flavor was OK but the oil and the fried herbs were particularly well mixed. I have a photo of it. The seasoned red bell peppers were kind of a nice touch I initially ordered this to go because they kind of felt that way and I talked to the person taking my order a Hispanic gentleman who could speak English pretty well but when I asked him questions, he just ignored me like how big are the mozzarella balls and are you gonna slice the tomatoes literally he just pretended like he didn't understand me. For me, this represented worse than poor service, almost defiance and passive aggressive brush off for my needs as a customer. Sat down at the table older lady said I could've ordered from her as she was the server so I apologize and she brought me the tomatoes and mozzarella and sure enough it look like it was almost put through a rough processor The service I got from the older lady was very good and she was kind and at least willing to engage in conversations read more

My husband ordered takeout dinner and desserts for me and our other daughter to bring back to the hotel. My daughter had her dessert right after we ate our dinner and luckily she only took a very small bite of the red velvet before realizing it had MOLD ALL OVER IT. We got take out here on a Sunday night and it was not crowded at all when we arrived. There is lots of indoor seating. They have a take out window, but we did not use this as we went inside to order. We ordered at the counter and the staff was very nice. They told us the food was going to take about 15 minutes so we left and came back. It was ready when we returned. We ate it about 10 minutes later and everything tasted great. I had the Italian sub, which was a cold sub loaded with meat and toppings. The roll could have been better, but it wasn't terrible. The pizza was thin and not crunchy, which was good. The pastas all came with bread and the portion sizes were large. All in all a great value that gets the job done. read more

The menu is varied and large. We ordered the antipasto for the table which was drizzled with balsamic vinegar. It was very good. For an entrée I ordered the eggplant parm. Great service and even better food in a clean, inviting dining room. We often dine across the street at Annata but decided to give Marcello's a try and were happy we did. Everything from the Cream of Tomato soup to the artichoke salad to the ossobuco special were fantastic. Our server was a very pleasant Italian lady who kept our waters full and our plates clear. Have eaten here for years, at least once a week take out. Tonight was are last meal here. Ordered a sicilian pizza that was horrible, almost no sauce at all with mounds of cheese. Hammonton has become our go to area to meet our friend who live in Atlantic County. Marcello's became our destination for this evening. It's located on the corner of the main road and a side street in the center of Hammonton. It's a combination of Pizzaria, restaurant and catering space. There's usually parking on the main street but there are also side streets to park as well. Our friends were already there by the time we arrived and were seated in the dining room. We easily found our way to our seats. Our server, Kim, was a delight. She was very helpful when we asked questions about the menu. The menu was pretty extensive with the usual suspects regarding dinners. There were also some specials this evening. The dinners came with a choice of salad or soup. I opted for the salad. It was a nice sized salad and the dressing was delicious. The basket of bread for our table had some different options as opposed to usual offerings. I ordered shrimp fra diavolo which also included mussels. You also get to select your choice of pasta which included spaghetti, linguini, angel hair and/or rigatoni. The platters were substantial. The fra diavolo had nice heat and was hearty. Everyone enjoyed their food. We didn't order dessert but will consider it the next time we eat there. read more

The food was amazing!!! My son got a delicious pizza and bacon cheese fries. Hands down, the best bacon cheese fries EVER!!! I got the penne with carbonara sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly & the sauce was insanely yummy!! I also got pasta fagiioli soup that tasted like a warm hug- I will be getting some to go for lunch tomorrow!! We always heard there was good restaurants in Hammonton so when we went for a festival we looked up places to eat Italian food for lunch and Marcellos was a top restaurant. Really tough to go bad on a Hammonton Italian restaurant. Marchioni's is no exception. Great place and a BYOB too. Shout-out to the Wait staff. The two women who waited on our table were remarkably friendly and efficient in what they did. Four of us, one is allergic to gluten and soy so we called ahead and they do have a gluten free menu. The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the breads and pizzas on display in the kitchen/take out area. Wonderful aromas and a bad time to be on any type of diet. We ordered so much I'll list then review: Caprese Salad, Antipasto Alla Marcello Salad, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Pappardelle Bolognese, Spaghetti with Clams, a gluten free rigatoni type dish with oil and arugula, and a side of sausage. Dinners came with small salad or soup. We opted for soups, bean and Italian wedding. Both were great and plentiful. Italian wedding was thick and seemed to have larger meatballs cut up in it rather than the small round ones. Dinner salad was fresh. No complaints on any of the dinners, however the sauce served with the sausage was stronger tasting than the sauce on the spaghetti. I'm getting that sauce next time. It's a matter of preference since others thought it was too strong. Only minor negative was the Antipasto salad that just really lacked the wow factor of others we've had. Last night we had a dinner party for 12. They only had round tables to put together to accommodate us, it was a tad awkward, but we made it work. The tables were set with simple place settings, with water already poured and bread baskets with butter set out, no center pieces, which made for plain tables, but it was a good thing considering the very large round tables pushed together and number of us trying to have conversation. The service was excellent. Two wait staff were assigned to us. They were attentive. We only ordered entrees. Not sure there was a duplicate meal on the table. I tasted several dishes. My own, The Tour of Italy- meat lasagna, ravioli, stuffed shell, and manicotti. The sauce was wonderful, flavorful, rich red color. A friend ordered gnocchi with Alfredo sauce. Again, the sauce was wonderful! It was creamy and rich without being too thick. Another dish i tasted was the chicken parmesean. Chicken was done to perfection, the same red sauce on my tour of IItaly over spaghetti. One option I considered was the puttanesca sauce. I opted not to get it, but was impressed is was made to order so I had the option to leave out the capers. The portions are huge! Plan on a take home or sharing if you're a light eater. House vinaigrette dressing was light, had herbs, but not strong. I love that Marcello's is in an older corner building on Main Street. I'm from Jersey originally, and I know pizza. Marcello's brings shame to Jersey Pizza. The pizza could benefit from some more seasoning and a few more minutes in the old oven. I found the pizza bland, doughy, flavorless, and greasy to boot. To top things off, the elderly cashier thought eating Stromboli over the counter where the pizza was displayed was funny not to mention certainly a health department violation, to boot. The dining room was nice, but this place was certainly more style than substance. I won't be back but here's a few helpful tips. Give granny a break so she doesn't have to eat Stromboli over the counter, and put more thought into the food than the dining room. I hope Hammonton has better pizza elsewhere than this place. read more

Tried Marcello's for the first time recently after being highly recommended by those at Chimney Rustic Ales. I must say that they were right and the food here is nothing less than amazing. We ordered both a couple chicken cheesesteak, a cheesesteak and a few appetizers: zucchini sticks, cheese fries and onion rings. Not one of the food items disappointed. The food tasted very fresh (the fries, onion rings and zucchini fries were all crunchy) and packed with lots of flavor. The prices were reasonable and get a good amount of food. Next time I'm in town, Marcello's is going to be one of my first stops. read more

This is my first Yelp review ever. I felt the need because it was so upsetting. We ordered takeout during quarantine for Mother's Day. We were told 45 minutes for delivery. I called to check on it after waiting 2 hours. It ultimately took 2.5 hours to arrive. We found pubic hair in 2 of our 4 dinners. Coincidence or because I called to complain?
