Armchair

I was looking for someone who could create a custom slipcover for an armchair that has special upholstery which needs to stay safe. The slipcover turned out really well! I could not be more pleased. Looks like a brand new chair with upholstery (doesn't even look like a cover!) Thank you.

Chair with custom cushions

We needed cushions made for a chair that we had refinished. Tonie was great! She was very communicative and helpful in advising us on where to find fabric and what size cushions we needed. The project took about two weeks to complete and we couldn't be happier. The cushions are beautiful and made with fine craftsmanship. We will definitely contact Tonie for our next project!

I'm thrilled to have found Tonie at Sofa Decor in Eagle Rock. She has done several projects for me including recently reupholstering my dining chairs in a beautiful dusty rose mohair I couldn't resist. She recovered a cat-scratched West Elm chair with two favorite fabrics that had been hibernating in my closet for far too long. Now it's a perfect fit for The Jetsons' living room. Quality workmanship and reasonably priced, Tonie will work with you on tricky projects. I had botched a large sofa cushion trying to do it myself (bad idea). She took it apart and with some of my leftover fabric re-sewed it and pieced it together where it's completely unnoticeable. Highly recommend.

Balcony chairs

Toni and her team are absolutely wonderful. Very professional with superb workmanship. They reupholstered our couch and even after 10 years it is like brand new. Our old rocking chair with a piece of Grandmother quilt gets compliments all of the time. Most recently our balcony chairs. I Love the results. Please give them a call first because there will be no regrets

Wow! The work They did to reupholster our heirloom sofa was phenomenal! So pleased with the results. I would recommend Sofa decor to anyone wanting perfection.

I am super impressed and looking forward to working with Sofa Decor further. I just picked up a project last week and am dropping off another next week. I brought in two cushions that need to be upholstered and the work was done quickly (a week before due date), with great craftsmanship and detail, and for a fair price. I wish that all of the fabricators I worked with were this professional. I mainly communicated via text. I would recommend sending a photo of the object (to confirm needed fabric and other details) and buying your own fabric ahead of time. Drop off and pick up was easy and convenient (they are even open on Saturdays!)

So glad I found this local upholsterer. The price was vet competitive with other companies plus, they made it easy (picked up chairs, bought a book of fabrics, then dropped off chairs when they were ready.) The new stuffing is super-comfortable - loved the suggestion to make the back and seat two separate parts so it would be easy to throw in the washer to clean. Currently looking around my house to figure out what else they can update.

Finished footstool

Tonie responded so quickly to my enquiry for reupholstery of my footstool. She gave me a price that was competitive and communicated with me throughout. The finished job is perfect and I will absolutely use Tonie again! Thank you!

Father's Day Re-Upholstered Oak Rocking Chair

We reupholstered my husband's fave porch chair for Father's Day and it turned out BEAUTIFUL and COZY!!! We opted for black vinyl and it was redone exactly the same as the original black leather upholstery (which the cat had scratched up). The oak was also restained a rich warm tone. It's just waiting for our morning porch coffee. THANK YOU.

This is Tonie's amazing work.

Tonie did an amazing job reupholstering two vintage lounge chairs. She completely transformed them -- refinishing the wood, rebracing the seats, and finally creating new cushions. She made everything really easy, from picking up the chairs and delivering them when they were done to letting me source my own fabric. The turnaround time was quick as well -- in addition to the 2 lounge chairs, she reupholstered 6 dining chairs for me. The entire lot took only 2 weeks!

I found a cheap, vintage chair frame at a local thrift store and brought it in to Tonie to make cushions. I came with printouts of what the chair would've originally looked like, and she followed this model perfectly. She did a fabulous job! Not only is the work flawless, the cushions have the perfect support and firmness. It's now my most comfortable chair! Plus, Tonie was very thoughtful in her work: she added a liner at the bottom of the chair to protect the cushions from the frame, and she also polished up the chrome and the wood armrests. My new/old chair is so handsome and could easily retail for over $2,000. Thanks, Tonie!

They did an excellent job I am very happy with workmanship. I highly recommend them. They made use of the extra fabric. Sofa sleeves and reversible head rest cover.

Tonie is great at what she does, plain and simple. She's easy to work with, has a great eye, her prices are incredibly fair, and she communicates throughout the process. I want to find more projects to do with her just because I felt so good about working with her on redoing the cushions on my leather club chairs.

Erin assembled a beautiful selection of succulents, colored sand, shells, moss, and other unique accents, and led the girls through a fun and easy-to-follow tutorial on how to build their own terrariums. The vibe was very cool and creative. The girls had the best time making their gorgeous little creations, while the parents enjoyed browsing the shop's thoughtfully curated selection of goods. I got them in the mail, along with a free tube of lipstick with--complete genius--a built-in mirror (how does every lipstick not have this)! Then I tried to get the pants on and found I couldn't get them past the top of my thighs. I was a bit devastated as I have been pretty frugal lately and was looking forward to buying my first piece of clothing in quite a while. The pants had been marked final sale on Garmentory, but in total desperation I phoned the store. Andie answered and instead of the let-down I was expecting, she patiently explained that the style is pretty tight at the top and I should try to work with them, but that in the mean time she would ship another pair of pants in the next size up and I could keep whichever fit better! I was so relieved and so grateful! While waiting for the other pair, I tried to get into the first pair I had ordered again, and with some help from some tights, I got them on. I realized she was totally right, and that they would probably keep getting a little easier to put on after that and that I did indeed have the correct size as the top fit perfectly once they were on. Overall, Andie just went above and beyond making sure that I was happy with the pants, and was so patient and kind, even when the first replacement pair got lost in the mail. She seems like a truly sweet person and I hope I can support her store more in the future.

I have been shopping here for years, I always find the owner and the staff to be so pleasant and helpful. You can tell that the store is loved and that the buyer (who I think is the owner) is inspired. What I especially like about this store is that all of the clothing is super high quality and is often sourced from other small businesses who are committed to their craft. I have dresses that I purchased from Dotter years ago and I wear them constantly, but they still look like new. The prices are super reasonable especially for the quality and longevity of the items. I love to go here whenever I need to pick up a gift for a friend, I always find the perfect item. I am so happy that Dotter is open again, I've missed being inside of this special store!

I drive @45 minutes to get there and had actually selected a jacket for myself. I tried on the jacket and noticed that there was a $32 discrepancy between the coat on line versus in the store. I waited in the long line (holiday sale prompted throngs) and told (& showed her the jacket I had saved in my phone) the owner what happened. She asked me to wait to check. I waited a good 15 plus minutes during which time her assistant took down the coat from the web site and made it reflect the higher price. Then she brightly asked if I wanted to try it on again and I said no, I need to leave and then she said she wouldn't honor the price that was listed on line stating it was a human error and she was running a small business. I think it is bad form to not honor the price that was listed. She has known than I've brought friends who have spent significant money in her store and I come to her from great distance for years...this was their mistake and I think it's extremely poor form to not honor what was listed. This is customer service at its worse. So much for loyalty. I could easily have bought the jacket on line and picked it up at the store but I thought that would not have integrity. Come to think of it, her actions didn't have integrity. You would think she would cultivate keeping her loyal customer base. What a disappointment.
