Mushroom and Swiss burger with mashed potatoes.
    George D.

Went here for dinner - party of 5. Ample parking in the lot behind / to the side of the building. Friendly service / seated quickly. We ordered the pimento cheese app and the loaded fries app. Both were very good. The pimento cheese is definitely house made. The loaded fries includes brisket. It was excellent. For apps, we got the Double Bacon Burger x2, one medium rare and one medium well, a salad with chicken and the mushroom Swiss burger. All were very good. Unfortunately, the burgers were mixed up - kitchens fault as the receipt showed that the server entered correctly. Each person took bites at the same time so it was awkward to switch. I ended up with the medium well - overcooked and not dry as I always order medium rare. The person that got my burger roughed there way through half - couldn't eat the other half. It was closer to rare than medium rare anyway. There was another issue but the server quickly corrected it - a side of pimento grits came out cold. Server replaced with hot grits. My wife got a side of mashed potatoes. She loved them. One of the burgers was served with Mac and cheese. I was told it was fantastic! Even though I dinged them a star for the burger mixup, I highly recommend this place. Definitely plan to return.

    Burger was good.

YELP IS UNDEFEATED!!!! I don't care where I go all I need is my Yelp app and I'm pulling up to the best eateries in town. EFFICIENCY!! Get right to it. I can see the meal that was prepared last night. Lol. YESSSSSSIRRRRR!!!!!! Most restaurants that pulled up had two and three stars. So I understand the landscape. Not many eateries speak on. They were three that stood out. So now I know my target. That's a small town on the outskirts of Rock Hill. Nice enough spot. Our waitress was very attentive. She came by every 10 minutes. She was very informative and courteous. Pretty versatile menu. Little but if everything. We ordered a burger, seafood platter. The red rice is pretty bad. I'm from Charleston so I'm perfect to judge. It was bad. I think they were shooting for Spanish rice. Looks like it might be a good place to watch a game. TV"s at the bar. I LOVE there take on Spanish casserole. Different. I can eat that all day. The owner came out to speak with us. Super nice. Said his father runs the one in Georgetown. I will be back wanna try a few more things on the menu.

EXCELLENT... My biggest complaint...the shrimp are so good...I can't bear not to get them....and the rest of the menu looks so good.

My wife and I went to SoCo Grille today for lunch and we were not impressed. To start we were greeted promptly and sat at a clean table. The atmosphere is clean and very nice for the space they have. They have a few TVs on the wall while some music was also playing. The menu was easy to read and most of the options sound good. My wife went with the Southern BLT and asked for the roasted Red Pepper Bacon Jam to be replaced with Mayo with a side of Pasta Salad. While she did enjoy the sandwich, they did not put the Mayo on it instead we were informed they put an Onion Jam on it. She ate half the sandwich and was full, so we just brushed it off. The pasta salad had what she explained as a Greek style dressing but with the addition of large pieces of cucumber and squash it was watered down and did not have much flavor. I went with the Southern Chicken Club Wrap with a side of Cucumber Salad. The wrap was not bad, but it did not come with the Avocado or the Sriracha Mayo and instead of Pickled Onion it was full of raw red/purple onion. The very small portion of cucumber salad I received was just a few large slices of cucumber and a few carrot slices and was too sweet for what I am used to. At around $10 a plate I did not expect a large meal, but I would expect to get what I ask for or what is displayed on the menu. I am hoping that this was an off day, and I will probably give them one more try, but I doubt my wife will be returning with me. As a side note according to my wife and a group of ladies at a near table the ladies bathroom door must be "man handled" to get the door to shut and lock.

The burgers tasted great -- juicy and flavorful. What stood out most was how accommodating they were to my 12-year-old son's gluten allergy. He ordered a hamburger with plain rice, and it was prepared with no issues at all. That level of care gave us peace of mind. The only thing we wished is that they offered a dedicated fryer for gluten-free cooking, so my son could also enjoy their house chips or fries. But overall -- lovely place, tasty food, and a staff who clearly cares about their customers' dietary needs. Highly recommended!

It seems that it has been hit and miss over the past six months or so. We typically stick to the same order for wings, burgers and pork chops. I did order wings as a meal and they came out with my salad and were cold when everyone else's food came. The service is the same... hit or miss. I don't know when we will be back but it will be a while. We had a party of 4 adults and a child and with a tip and bull it was just under $100. It just appears that they are missing consistency.

Ashley was our server and she was amazing -- very attentive, friendly, and gave great recommendations. She really made the experience even better. We started with the pork belly skewers topped with ranch, BBQ, crushed cashews, and pickled red onions -- 10/10. Huge portion and packed with flavor. The balance of sweet, tangy, and crunchy was perfect. The chicken Caesar sandwich was sooo good. It's a massive sandwich with a crispy chicken cutlet topped with Caesar salad, pickled red onions, and chickpeas. Fair warning: it's a little hard to eat because of the size, but completely worth it. The dressing leans more vinegar-forward than creamy, which I personally loved. I'd honestly order it again just as a salad. The truffle parm fries were another 10/10 -- loaded with parmesan and full of flavor. The stout braised beef melt was amazing. Tons of meat and the flavors blended together perfectly. Definitely a standout. The pub chips with added Cajun seasoning were okay -- not bad, just nothing super special compared to everything else. As longtime fans of their previous food truck, we're so impressed with what they've grown into as a restaurant. It's clear they've kept the quality while elevating the whole experience. We'll absolutely be back!

came from Charlotte to try Elk Ave Tavern after seeing a TikTok food review claiming it had one of…read morethe "top five cheesesteaks," so I went in with pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, I left feeling very disappointed. I ordered the cheesesteak, which was the main reason for my visit, and it just didn't live up to the hype. The bread was soggy, the meat was very small diced instead of the ribeye-style cuts you'd expect from a good cheesesteak, and the cheese tasted more like Kraft than anything premium. Overall, it was very bland and lacked the flavor I was hoping for. For $18 and about a 20-minute drive, I honestly expected much more. On the positive side, the Brussels sprouts were amazing -- easily the standout item from my visit. They were flavorful and cooked really well. The fries were fine too, but fries are fries and it's hard to mess those up. The staff were very nice and attentive, and the food came out in about 10-15 minutes, which I appreciated. The restaurant itself is a small, quaint place located in downtown Rock Hill across from the public library. I didn't have trouble parking, but it was around 12:30 on a Wednesday and the lot and nearby street parking were both pretty full, so I could see it being tighter during busier times. I also noticed this location used to be called Sweet Tea back around 2020 when they served chicken and waffles, so it was interesting to see how the space has changed. The menu overall isn't very large, and since I mainly came for the cheesesteak and it didn't meet my expectations, I don't see myself returning. In my personal opinion, Cheat's Cheesesteak Parlor still has the best cheesesteak in Charlotte and the surrounding areas. I really wanted to love this place, but based on this visit, it just didn't deliver for me.

My parents rode down from Waynesville to come see me on my birthday, and knowing them as well as I…read moredo, I knew they'd want to go out to eat. They are both foodies and enjoy trying new places, as they take us out to a new place they've tried every time we go to Waynesville, and there's always a lively discussion about the experience afterward between them, and my husband and I. It's always fun, even if it's not good. We haven't lived here long, having moved from the Richmond area of Virginia, and we haven't had a chance to go out much. Yelp! To the rescue! Tap houses always seem to be a hit when we're all together so that's what I looked for, and here is where I landed. It checked all the boxes; beer, burgers, great pricing, and plenty of room. We came in the early evening because they still had to drive home, so we allowed ourselves plenty of time. There was no wait and we were seated in a very roomy booth, and my toddler was given a very clean high chair that fit perfectly at the table. We all got something different from the menu and shared our food, and I quite enjoyed the wine! Out of the 5 adults and a toddler, there were zero complaints about the food! The service was also outstanding! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful without being overbearing or hovering - not a single drink ran out, and that's a big one for me. The atmosphere was also great! I've gone to a good share of tap houses and despite them being amazing, they're not always great to take a little one into...that was not the case here. The time of day probably had something to do with it, since it was early and not really "drinking time" yet, but there were people at the bar having fun, and music was playing, but it wasn't overwhelming for her, which is awesome. The other customers were also pretty laid back. I've spent years taking kids to restaurants and there's almost always someone irritated nearby, giving dirty looks because they don't want to hear loud laughter or be around even well-behaved children - there was absolutely none of that here, and it did my heart good! In short: if you have family in town, or if you just want to go hang out, have a good beer and some delicious food without going bankrupt, and listen to some music, this is your place! The staff is wonderful, the place is cozy, the music was good, and you can comfortably have a good time with a larger group.

One downside was learning that pets are not allowed inside--even though they don't serve food--which is always a bit of a letdown for us. That said, Luna was welcome on the outdoor patio... unfortunately, it was about 20 degrees outside. We didn't let the cold ruin the experience, though. They have patio heaters and warm drinks available, which helped a lot. We grabbed comfy outdoor chairs right next to the Christmas tree, and the setting was really nice, especially with the water view just steps away. It never got overly busy, but there was a steady flow of people coming and going, which gave it a relaxed, lively feel without being crowded. We both ordered the Hardywood Gingerbread Stout (9.2% ABV), which was their only holiday beer available at the time--they mentioned they had another seasonal option but had already sold out. The beer was pretty good, though definitely strong. We actually left to check out the only other bar in town, but it turned out to be closed, so we circled back to The River Room for another round. Two gingerbread stouts came out to $14 total which felt very reasonable. They do charge a small membership fee (around $1) since it's a private club, and we were told that fee goes toward animal conservation, which is a nice bonus. Overall, despite the cold and the indoor pet restriction, we really enjoyed the ambiance, holiday decor, and relaxed vibe--and would definitely stop back again when the weather is warmer.
