2* because the candy seems good, I guess. The problem is the dour woman owner and the tasting policy (there is none--you must guess and buy). Given that most of us are not overly familiar with Swedish candy, the no-tasting policy is a deal killer for me. read more

This place was awful. Filled a variety bag of candy, paid a fortune, and 3 of us taste-tested everything. Plastic. Spit out most of it to avoid the empty calories. We were hoping for some great Swedish chocolate, but instead...plastic, chemical-tasting product. Had many of the chocolate covered candies and bananas, as well as some Gummies. Horrible. Ikea is better. Rolos and any supermarket candy top this by far. I know my chocolate...from mass market to boutique, and this stuff was bad. Thinking this business must be a cover for something else, since they also sell cheapy looking dish wear and sardines. Yes, I said 'sardines'. Pass. read more

I was on my way to La Brea & 3rd when my friend spotted Sockerbit and since we were very interested in stopping by I flipped the car and found the closest parking spot nearby. And this was definitely no easy task during rush hour. I did it though! The shop is very clean, minimalist layout. Very easy to access and maneuver. It reminded me of those candy shops in Hong Kong. The imported chocolate and candy are good but there was one thing that definitely struck a nerve. The sales girl. There were two there and one was very nice and helpful while the other was super defensive and hostile. I'd describe her as a sorority girl, you know the type. Loud, opinionated and always right (or at least in her mind). When I had told her that I too work for a candy shop she immediately attacked my place of business and said that we didn't carry the imported candy and that we weren't as good/the same. And then when she told me of her New York location and all of the foot traffic I commented that it must be a little harder in LA since locals don't usually tend to walk around in the neighborhood, especially since parking and traffic are always a pain to which she immediately said that people walked in all the time and that it was constantly busy. Again, there was no one in the store but us and in my 25 years of living in LA I had never walked down that street. I wasn't trying to attack her but I guess she saw it that way. Really, all she could talk about was that she was Swedish and that she grew up eating these treats when she was little. Thank you for that information? I even ended up buying stuff from the store and she was still hostile. Why? Not my cup of tea. I might go back if she weren't there. Why deal with the hassle of trying to find parking if I'm going to be met with rude staff. No thank you. read more

The BEST quality candy in LA with... NO added preservatives NO added coloring #momApproved read more

Who could say no to non-preservatives Swedish candies?! Only weird people who like gooey, chewable candies, that's who! Best naturally sweet candy. I love it. read more

i love sockerbit so much, the people who work here are so kind! They address you with the most beautiful smiles as you walk in, and the candies are delicious as well. So much variety, I can't believe it. read more

Uh....Scandinavia really knows what's up. Like, why is America always so behind? Mathematics, health insurance and now candy? Haha, because of Sockerbit I ain't even mad! This place is awesome.... The only non awesome part about it is the location and PARKING. Other than that, I was so very happy when I left the store with my goodies. I say get at least one of each candy that calls to you. Try it out to see what you need seconds of. I'm more of a jelly gelatin candy type-of-girl so I stick to those. The strawberry tubes with strawberry filling and strawberry bits are my absolute fave. Obviously all candy and chocolates (toffees are amazing) in the store are free of GMOs, corn syrup, chemical dye, etc. So don't feel bad and treat yo self! You won't regret it. read more

My wife is Swedish and I decided to come here with my two children. I must say: Never again. The store is pretty, but empty but that is not the issue. The candy is pretty. But I suggest the staff pay attention to black thick hair in the candy bins. It grossed me out as well as the little flies in there. I also prefer eating packed candy since the whole concept can lead to diseases with people having their hands on the candy... And the staff... The blonde girl, Joanna, attacked me and my children as soon as we arrived in the store and was not sensitive or possessing any basic retail associate manners. I honestly think the owners should take a second and look over the qualities of the staff before it ruins their business. The candy is good, having been to Sweden for twice a year for the last 20 years, the candy tastes better there and is more fresh. But what can you expect when it is being transported across the Atlantic Ocean? On top of this, I overheard the owner speaking to one of the staff members and I got really shocked to hear how she, with four customers in the store, talked badly about another staff member. I couldn't believe when I heard the woman was the owner. Highly unprofessional and rude and full of herself. Any person would know that it will reflect badly upon you and YOUR BUSINESS if you act that kind of wayto and in front of staff or customers. Also, rumor has it the store charged customers tax on candy which is not legal in the state of California...... Not a good experience. Will not go back. Will continue having relatives send over candy from Sweden! read more

You can taste the difference. Every candy I tried here tasted so different from the usual bagged gummies you find in American grocery stores or even imported Haribo gummies. The texture is different, the sweetness level is just right, the flavors are unique. You just have to go here and see the colorful wall of non-GMO candies they carry. It will bring out our inner child immediately. read more

This place is so cool!!! And super random.. A Scandinavian candy shop next to the Grove. Despite the randomness, this place is awesome. It's "healthy" candy, no GMOs, transfat, high fructose corn syrup, etc. It's still candy though, so don't get crazy lol. It's the classiest candy store I've ever been to. It's white inside and all of at candy so much prettier than American candy stores. After trying all of them I must say the price equals the quality. It's really good. If you have a sweet tooth, you definitely need to try it out. read more

Love this place! I'm glad I live walking distance from here. The workers are super helpful and the candies are amazing. It can be kind of pricey but well worth it after a salty meal! read more

Expensive for candy, but if you love your sweets, you gotta come here as they have a wide variety of candy from nougats and chocolate to sweet and sour candy. Great place for both adults and kids. Also, the best ice cream shop is next door ;) read more

The candy is good, but the price is a bit high. The place is bright and clean, and the workers are very friendly. My only problem with this place (besides the price) is that they don't let you try the candy. How do you know which ones you will like and which ones you won't? At that kind of price, I think providing samples is beyond reasonable. After all, Olsen's Scandinavian Deli has the same candy, but allows you to try them first before buying. read more

They have gummies that don't taste like hard plastic! Yay! What more do you need to read? Just go get some candy that doesn't damage everything in your body and it's good for the soul! read more

I'm from Sweden and this place finally opened in LA, they have a store in NY. The candy is really good and very fresh! They do have some Swedish food items too. It is a bit pricey compared to what you pay in Sweden but that makes it all more special! read more

Call me a harsh critic but $13.99/pound for candy is way overpriced. Unfortunately there's nothing special about the candy either, I could barely bite into or chew most of it. The inside was very clean and cute, the workers were super nice. read more

Sat in traffic for a good 50 minutes in hopes of satisfying some pregnancy cravings and I was not the least bit disappointed. We were greeted by Florence who had an amazing personality and was extremely helpful. Their selection of candy is vast and everything is fresh. The store is clean and very welcoming! I can't wait to finish my giant bag of candy I bought so I can come back for more. read more

I appreciate that potential allergens are clearly marked on each candy. Have a wide selection - the Coca Cola bottle candies and the heart-shaped gummies are good. Don't love the chocolates, though. No HFCS or artificial colors! A good option if you are gluten-free / trying to avoid soy or wheat. Price point is high, but you get what you pay for. Street parking on 3rd or look for a side street. read more

This place is a blessing and a curse all at the same time. As a Swede leaving in LA, I've never had any trouble staying away from sweets, because there was no Swedish candy here! Now there is and it's the best. The store is clean, the staff is amazing, and the candy is delicious! And doesn't have all the crap American manufacturers put into candy here. read more

Fun store with interesting layout. Both kids and adults would like it. It has a wide variety to choose from that you may not typically see.

Sugar addict here. Hello! And Scandinavian. So this place is very appropriate. If you are Scandinavian, you know that we have our own, lovely candies. This place have some of them. I found some deeeeelicious salmiakki ie. salty licorice (no you will not like them if you are not Scandinavian. Don't even try. You will just spit it out. And this candy is WAY too expensive for that. Just leave it for me). The selection is quite good and the store has some other specifically Swedish products. Fun, Scandinavian white place. Not in my neck of woods, but if I am near by, I sure will visit. read more

I visited the store for the first time and was not disappointed! I can't believe I waited so long to try their candy. Florence helped me and could not have been nicer. It is now my new go to place for a treat and it makes great gift bags too! read more

Swedish candies. Mmm. They have my favorite, the Daim, that I usually can only find in duty free when I'm traveling. And come to think of it, we got all sorts of gummy things and forgot to get their Swedish fish! Ah! Anyway, cute spot. Similar to the candy section at Olsen's market on Pico. read more

Finally! Finally I can buy candy for my little girls (and myself), because finally someone was smart enough to open up a non HFCS candy shop! More like candy dreamland! I am from Europe myself, but candy where I come from is totally different, so this type of candy (colorful, fun, fruity and deliciously shaped) is what I always crave but wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole because of the corn syrup/dies etc. Do people buying candy here even think about what it is they are feeding their children? The answer is no, sadly they do not. But I do and so I was super surprised to be walking by and see this new to me store, tastefully and perfectly done in white like a little art gallery displaying dozens of types of candies. It is a welcoming little gallery though-grab a scoop and don't hold back. I bought all kinds today for the kids and it all was delicious. I keep sneaking back into the kitchen for just one more ;) The mango chewy ones are one of my favorites from this first visit and I also love the little puffy strawberry chewy marshmallow squares. Yes, now I made you want them. I made me want them. The difference is that I actually have them and will go eat one right now. Can't wait to bring my girls back there! read more

Sockerbit - Candy Stores Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Cute, stylish shop with super nice couple that owns it and engages you. Delicious, fun and unique!

I love the chocolates and the marshmallows, but the store is always out of marshmallows (I guess U.S. Customs really has something against letting marshmallows into the country; at least that's the explanation I'm hearing when I ask about the marshmallow shortage: "it's held up at customs"). read more

Finally a Swedish candy store! The swedes are very happy to have their candy in LA! It is a bit expensive but it is so worth it!! I know that our candy is one of the things we miss the most from Sweden ;) thanks! read more

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Greeted us with a smile as we walked in. They asked us if it was our first time and they were very helpful when we said yes. We bought a little bit of everything except licorice (I'm not too fond of licorice). So fat everything has been delicious. We will definitely be back! read more

YUMMMY. I once again went here for the 28 most droll worthy places in LA. I 100% agree with this one. I love candy more than that I love sour candy. I will say though that they did not have quite as much punch as I was hoping for. I did none of the sour faced puckering that I was hoping for but still enjoyed everything all the same. I was told to go here for the sour ball but I would say these were probably my least favorite item. They had a little bit of sour at the beginning and then went cloyingly sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed the sour octopuses though. I would definitely return here and maybe try some of their chocolates. read more

They definitely have a lot of candy that's for sure. It's really cute and there are a lot of options to choose from. I tried quite a bit of their selections and they were all equally yummy and satisfied my sweet tooth so I'll definitely be back. read more

I went because I was in the area and heading down third to get lunch and I really wanted candy. I think the service and attentiveness gives 2 stars. The candy isn't horrible but to me it wasn't edible. another star for good prices since this is imported. I got the strawberry belts, marshmallow choc Bears, rasberry choc Bears, wheat choc crunch (which was ok) and a coconut chocolate truffle. I really didn't find the flavor good. I had one bite of each and ended up throwing it away. The flavor is weird to me. I didn't like it. read more

Beautiful candy store and my new go when picking up a little something for a dinner party or children's birthday! In addition to candy they have beautiful Eco gifts from Sweden! I spent a good amount of time filling up a bag of candy and meeting the lovely owners! Welcome to LA Sokerbit! I'll be back! read more

The Swedes sure know how to do their candy! The gummies are fresh and the chocolates are yummy too.

I like their sour candy and the marshmellow chocolate veriety !

Sockerbit is a Swedish candy store close to the Grove. The decor is cute and sophisticated, which reminds me of Sprinkles Cupcakes. My favorite part about the place is that you can only take one candy if you want. Plus, all of the candy is made without GMOs, corn syrup, artificial colors, etc. It's all high-quality ingredients. Sockerbit doesn't just have candy. They have various Swedish products (soap, toys, etc.) and some food (I recommend you try the elderflower soda). I love their orange-chocolate candy. That has to be my favorite one. Everything is pretty good though. Overall, it's a great candy store. I personally think it beats Dylan's Candy Bar at the Grove. read more

Amazing candy selection! I have a major sweet tooth and this place is like heaven on earth

I stopped in yesterday to get some of the salty licorice that they eat in Finland and also some chocolate for a house gift . The candy is delicious and the service was great. They were very helpful and even wrapped up the candy with a ribbon that I was giving as a gift. Thank you . read more

I loveeeeee candy! This place was pretty cool. Had a variety of candy to choose from.

DO NOT COME HERE!! All the self-serve candy is STALE. I purchased a bag full of candy and 90% of it hard as a rock! Took forever to chew so I ended up throwing the whole bag away Also very expensive at $13.99/lb! Don't waste your money. You're better off at the dollar store! read more

We drove one hour from Laguna Beach and we were not disappointed! We've lived in Sweden for many years and really missed the great quality candy they had.
