We went here on a Saturday around 6:30pm and it was a bit busy - quoted a 20 minute wait but got a text in 5 minutes to be seated at a high top table next to a purple vintage jukebox. We got tater tots with cheese sauce and the burnt smores cheesecake for food, and we got the Uncrustables, On the Ritz, and Gin & Juicemaxxing for cocktails. Food is a bit pricy - 8 CAD for a small amount of tater tots plus 4 CAD for a tiny cup of cheese sauce, and some entrees go up to 60 CAD which is crazy expensive. Definitely recommend sticking to the drinks only. The Uncrustables is pretty interesting - could have had a bit more peanut butter flavor but still good with the fruity undertones that resemble the jam. It is pretty much the liquid version of Uncrustables peanut butter and jelly sandwich. On the Ritz is pretty good too - a bit creamy and easy to drink. I recommend eating the crackers asap unless you want to try it soggy dipped with the cocktail (either way is good). Gin & Juicemaxxing is wonderful with the fruity and faintly herbal notes. It is also interesting as it is a cocktail on tap since it is highly popular and fairly complex to make, so this drink came out very fast. Service is okay, just need to flag a server as they are slow in being proactive on checking up or refilling waters. Definitely good bar with good ambience, but only worth checking if you are conveniently in the area.

There are high seats and tables, low seats and tables, and street tables for when the weather permits (some tall tables are outside as well) The service was good. The young lass who was our server was polite, professional, and helpful. Now. Onto the meat of the review! My wife (after asking our server regarding how spicy is the chicken curry) (mild but nice, very nice) had the chicken curry and I the lamb shank. Portions are generous! Excellent presentation and fabulous taste! Sweetie had the Red Rooster Pinot Gris, and I the RR cab/merlot. Both wines complemented the food nicely. Definitely will be returning!

Is it a bar? A restaurant? A lounge? Chaise Lounge on Main Street seems to be suffering from an…read moreidentity crisis, trying to be all things to all people and somehow landing nowhere in particular. For a place with a French-sounding name, there's precious little French about it. I didn't spot a chaise lounge, either. Not that I was expecting to recline in velvet and contemplate the human condition, but a man can dream. The saving grace is the parking lot patio. In a post-COVID world where many establishments reclaimed their precious parking spots and sent their outdoor seating to the great beyond, Chaise Lounge held the line. There's something appealing about the backyard atmosphere, the makeshift charm of eating outdoors while cars and civilization carry on around you. Of course, that charm depends heavily on the weather. If it's warm, you're in business. If not, you'd better stake out a seat near a heater and hope it has more staying power than the kitchen. We were offered the garlic prawn special. Two small prawns, shells still on, accompanied by about ten tiny freezer-bag baby shrimps bobbing around in a pool of garlic butter and oil. A special, apparently, in the same way that finding a twenty-dollar bill in your laundry is special. The prawns were there, technically - 2 minis. The rest felt like an aquatic clearance sale - seriously baby shrimp!?! Then came the wings. You know the ones. That unmistakable freezer-burn funk, the kind that suggests these birds have been dead long enough to develop a complicated relationship with the freezer. One piece was so thoroughly stripped down to bone that calling it a wing felt like an act of generosity. A little hot sauce, a few bones, and a prayer. Somewhere, a chicken was rolling in its grave. The food, unfortunately, doesn't offer much to distract you from the question of what this place actually wants to be. A bar with food? A restaurant with a bar? A lounge for people who have misplaced their standards along with their expectations? The menu isn't exactly shouting joie de vivre. It's barely whispering bon appétit. I'd been here once before, a couple of years ago, dining inside. It wasn't memorable then, either. But time has a funny way of sanding down bad experiences until they're just vague impressions, like an old hangover you can't quite remember earning. So I returned, this time for the patio. Had I remembered that the indoor experience and the parking-lot picnic belonged to the same establishment, I might have kept driving. Amnesia, it turns out, is a surprisingly effective marketing tool. 3 stars at best... was hoping for more. Cheers.

Roof top patio + Happy Hour = a pretty great Saturday night!…read more We did not know that Happy hour was offered 2-5:30 pm daily! In fact, being from Phoenix, we are mostly used to Happy Hour being a weekday thing. Last Saturday, I ordered their snack burger for $10 and fries for $5. It was surprisingly tasty and satisfying! 100% Canadian beef, aged white cheddar, pickles, house mayo + gluten free bun + $2. I omitted the caramelized onions due to my SIBO but I bet they would have been delicious! While living in Arizona, I have been spoiled with excellent margaritas made with good quality tequila. So when I took a gamble on the HH margarita here for $10 but I was pleased with it even though it came with a LOT of ice. Others ordered the Pesto Linguine with shrimp $21 and the Ranchero bowl $19. I will leave the commenting to those who actually ate them. It got chillier after 6:00pm when the auto shades came down and a breeze kicked up but that's what you have to expect on a roof top! When the weather is still pleasant, there's just something extra nice about dining outside. Cheers!

I decided to have the seafood chowder from the regular menu. It was a decent portion served in a big shallow bowl, almost like a soup plate. It was a bit salty for me. It had plenty of seafood, particularly clams. I shared that with R and also had a couple of pizza slices from his order. He got the hot honey calabrese pizza which was really good. My friends had the caper dill salmon, pesto linguine and wings. All looked delicious! We were on the main level where the bar is. It didn't look that busy from our side. It might be more crowded on the other levels which I didn't go explore. The service was good and the server was really quick to clear the plates once they were empty. I'll like to come back again to try the other items on the menu. They do brunch on weekend too.

I made reservations online. We showed up on time, and were seated immediately. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. As my food quality expectations for Tap & Barrel are quite low, I was pleasantly surprised with my food. It was a good portion size, and each of the individual ingredients were reasonably fresh, and overall tasted pretty good. Service seemed a bit below average. The food took 15-20 minutes to come out, which feels quite long. Our server was nice enough, but basically did the minimum despite not seeming to be very busy. Overall, it was ok. Not food I would crave, and service was subpar, but it's a nice location if you're looking to enjoy the sun and the views.

We were seated in a booth near the front, where it was comfortable enough to talk, and our servers were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Happy hour offered a good selection of cocktails and small plates. Nothing quite blew my socks off, but we had a good time. The garlic-chili prawns were my favorite dish. The wild boar tacos were tasty, though not especially memorable, and at $17 during happy hour, the free-range chicken wings didn't feel like a particularly good value. The Moroccan steak flatbread was good, but I preferred the calamari. The happy-hour spicy margarita was tasty, but the Slow Burn off the main menu took the prize for me. Overall, it's a nice place with a lively atmosphere, though I've had better drinks and nibbles elsewhere nearby. I'm glad we tried it, and I'd still come back. Enjoy!
