Small office, hardly any seats. There's a parking lot and lots of streets parking. Social Security Offices do not take appointments. They call your number out so you gotta listen carefully. You show up and take a number at the kiosk they have available. I arrived about 2:30pm on a Thursday. Waited an hour and half, which was closing time at 4pm. And it only took 5 mins for the employee to do a name change. SMH. My new card was issued via mail in 5 days! You should check office hours on SS website. I think there's an old Yelp pic with hours closing at 3pm, which has been changed. Anyway, I noticed more staff started calling numbers at closing time and everyone person called was in and out quick. So I suggest you come extra early when they open (as others state they only took 10 mins) or come 30 mins before closing time. read more

I waited only 30 min without appointment and representatives were very nice. I never knew that could be possible. Next day, they called and kindly let me know that they need another document so I returned the office. When I get there, I straight asked the representative who called me as I was told, then took care of me right away. That was literally 5 mini visit! I went to the Social Security Office in Burbank a couple of weeks ago. I expected to have to wait a long long time as I did not have an appointment I waited maybe an hour and then I did get service - and I have to say that the lady who worked with me was fabulous - so helpful - did not rush me - let me ask my questions. I had a great experience and I really do recommend the Burbank office over the Glendale office as it is more personable and more service oriented. Plus the packing is free with plenty of street parking also. read more

I took my number and waited only 20 min before they called my number. The man who helped me was kind of quiet but he did his job, quickly and easy. I went into the office to inquire why my benefits had been stopped. I am a dialysis patient and I must have dialysis to live......I was talked to like I was less than human. I was left in the waiting area for 4 hours. I explained that I was a dialysis patient who needed my medications and could not get them without my benefits. The assistant manager said he would have someone help me! The guy that came out to help me after 2 more hours was belligerent and rude. He yelled at me and I had to have the paramedics called. When the paramedics arrived they told me my blood pressure was 213/165 and I need to go to the ER. I could have had a heart attack and the employees could care less. The asst. manager and this employee totally insensitive and heartless. Stay away from this office at all cost. read more

Got a tip from a friend that this particular SS office is full of rockstar employees so I was hoping for the best, nervous that I may be stuck here for hours. I arrived before they opened at 9, and waited in line outside with the other early birds at 8:30am. Once they opened, I was one of the first ones helped. I was in and out within 10 minutes! Wow! This is a follow up review from 6/9/20. I was able to make another appointment with Mrs. Khatcherian today after making sure that I have the document that she required to file an application for a SSN for my Mom (82yo). I have to make arrangements at work to come in late to drive her. We were early for the appointment and made sure all required documents were ready and complete. She took them and made copies of the documents to accompany the application. She dismissed us and immediately brought my Mom home and drove to work. Just to get a voice mail from Mrs Khatcherian as soon as I reached my workplace. She wants me to come back to the office because SHE FORGOT TO PHOTOCOPY ONE OF THE DOCUMENTS WE SUBMITTED THAT SHE REQUIRED. In her voice mail, you won't even hear any tone of apology. She even hinted a threat that our application won't be processed due to the missing copy of the document that SHE HERSELF IRRESPONSIBLY FORGOT TO PHOTOCOPY. Do we deserve employees like MRS. KHATCHERIAN? I would understand if it was a regular office day that there were a lot of people in their office that they need to assist. NO, this was a special appointment due to the urgency of the need. The SS offices are still closed. She must have 100% presence of mind in doing her work to help us but she failed. I just hope that a superior of Mrs. Khatcherian will be able to read this review. We don't deserve this poor service coming from employees like her. P.S. When I came back to submit the document that she missed making a copy of, she met me WITHOUT A MASK. Just like the first meeting on 6/9, she was so irresponsible in meeting people without a mask and not being a role model. I hope that other people won't experience this kind of poor service and that Mrs. Khatcherian is an isolated case. read more

My dad got here at 8:25 (Thursday). There were 3 people before him. They opened at 9. I arrived with my mom at 8:50. They called our # at 9:10. They were very nice & helpful. However they couldn't help us with all our needs because they were understaffed & they had people waiting with appointments. But they did help as much as possible. I went to get a new social security card because I got married and needed to change my last name. I planned on getting there right when they opened, but I tend to lolly gag in the morning. I got there around 10am and found parking right away. There was no line to check in. There was a friendly security guard there to help if you had any questions. I waited for an hour, which flew by since I had my phone to entertain me. The lady who helped me was pleasant. She complemented me on my colorful hair and my cool purse.Other than they guy who smelled like he was sitting in shit filled underwear sitting next to me, it wasn't a bad experience. read more

I may only be giving this SS Administration 5 stars because my expectations were so low to begin with that they exceeded them ten fold, but I was very pleased to walk-in and be helped within the hour. I hadn't brought my paperwork, just my marriage license and IDs but they easily changed my name within minutes and I was told I don't have to wait for the new card in the mail to get my CA ID/Drivers License updated. I haven't yet, because I have low expectations for the DMV too. Also the guy that helped me was very friendly, bright and quick. It was a pleasant experience. I've put it off for over a year because I dreaded it that much, and they made it wonderful. read more

I arrived at 8:30 a.m. (I could not get an appointment through the phone, kudos if you can) and was 4th in line. There is a semi-abrasive security guard who will bark orders at you, but I'm sure his job is stressful. But as soon as the doors opened, even without an appointment, I was able to go directly to a window. Was expecting a long wait. Was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I got in & out. Arrived a few minutes before they opened at 9am & there was a line the length of the building. It took less than 10 minutes to get inside & receive my number & about 15 minutes before my number was called. Total time start to finish was less than 30 minutes. We just returned from the Social Security office in Burbank on Olive. I have to say it was one of the best government related visits I've ever had. The office opens at 9. We arrived 15 minutes early. There was a line of about 10 people in front of us. About 5 minutes before 9, the Security Guard came out with a short introduction. Then, a SS person came out and asked anyone with an appointment at 9 to come to the front of the line. When the doors opened, we each went up to a person who had a check in tv screen. It spit out a slip of paper with a number on it, as when you go to the deli counter. They have tv screens showing who they are helping at the moment. We were called at 9:23. So, we basically waited 23 minutes to start our business. The SS woman who helped us was so nice. She was interested in us and kibbitzed with us for several minutes. I went around noon on a Tuesday, and waited about 90 minutes. I would say plan on waiting 1-2 hours, maybe more. Appointments are a joke...the next available appointment was two months from now. The person who helped me was friendly and professional, and they were moving the line along fairly quickly. But still, they have a lot of people, so expect that it's going to take a while. read more

I came to this office to change my name after I got married. I was a bit nervous about having a long wait and which documents to bring, but it ended up being pretty easy. I called to make an appointment ahead, but was told there was really no need for me to have one. They were right. I got to the building a little after 8:30 (it opened at 9). There was ample parking in the lot. I was about 5th in line, so you could probably aim to get there a bit later and still have a pretty good spot in line. They opened right at 9. The security guard came out and told us to have our old social security card ready for check-in, so I panicked a bit because I hadn't brought mine. It was fine. I just showed the check-in lady my name change form and she got my old social from that form. Check-in was really quick and then I took a seat with my number. I was called about 5 minutes later. The man at the desk processed my form really quickly - I just had to give him my completed name change request form, original marriage certificate, and driver's license. He then printed me a receipt saying my card will get to me in about two weeks. I was out of there by 9:10. A very good experience. read more

This place is the worst. The Asian guy and the muscular white guy are the worst(sorry I don't know names). They called me to the window and were very rude and didn't want to listen to what I had to say. They didn't seem like they wanted to be there or even cared about anything. I mean you are a social worker, at least you should care a little and have some social skills. The white guy was actually just talking( or flirting) with the other worker while people were waiting for there numbers to be called. Very rude and not professional. Social Workers should not exist, people can do almost everything online now. I would rather put my tax dollars to better programmers to be able to run a better online system than to people who are rude to me while I wait in line for 30 minutes or more. read more

Walked in at the Burbank SS office without appointment on a Wed, and was expecting a DMV-like atmosphere. There were a lot of people waiting when I got there at 10'ish, but the check in process was quick and efficient, and you get your number. The security guard was friendly and approachable. The office was very clean, the a/c was strong, and there were plenty of clean chairs. There were a lot of staff windows and it seemed like they were processing people fairly quickly. There were tv monitors that update you on what numbers are being processed. Adequate free parking and plenty of street parking too. I waited 1.5 hours, but it was still ok since I wasn't expecting much from a government office. The lady who attended to me was friendly and smiled often. I'm hoping that I was given correct information (would have felt better it if was in writing). Overall, I would recommend this office to anyone, but take note that on Wednesdays, they're only open til 12p. read more

When it comes to government offices, I rarely believe anyone's opinion. But, this place reminds me of DMV in Simi Valley. You go there, easily find a seat and get called within an hour. And this was the case here. Drove up and got a space in the shade, walked in and got a number and sat down. From the security guard to the person that helped me, all nice. Got there at lunch time and thought it would be packed. Was able to get through in about an hour and a half. And, I think part of that was that there were a few people there whose cases took a real long time. Great office! read more

I brought my parents to this office, who are both elderly and are in need of my assistance. We got called in by a man named Vega who was so rude to us that I began questioning who is even in charge of the hiring process here. Every time I come here I have a pleasant experience with a lady named Karen however, unfortunately today she was not there. I understand that you can't expect everyone to be nice to you in this world however, having a bit of decency and at least ACTING like you like your job would be great. My parents do not speak english therefore, I had to answer some of the questions for them. Every time my parents did not understand what Vega was asking of them, I would have to answer. That's when he would rudely interrupt me while I was speaking and tell me that my parents have to speak when clearly he saw that they do not understand. Even though he was so rude, I still kept myself together and responded in a polite manner. After he threw a numerous amount of negative comments at us in a matter of about an hour, it was time for us to finally leave. I was so thrown off about the way we were treated that I was impatient to just get out of there. I came to exit through these large doors without even reading what it said. The rude man who had been helping us came after me saying "Can't you read what the door says? You can't leave through here!" I looked up to see that it says emergency exit, along with a good amount of people exiting through these doors as well. I'm not sure why we were the only people to get picked for going through these doors but he really needed an attitude adjustment because it's not right to speak to someone you don't know in that matter. Take my advice and make sure you don't get Vega to help you because you will not be happy. read more
