These are the terrifying couches that look like they are at least 40 years old and probably also cause allergies
    Tabitha K.

Jury room smells like mold and makes my nose run. Ceiling tiles have obvious water damage in several places with deferred maintenance and the room is surrounded by a maroon upholstered u shaped couch that looks like it is from the late 1980s and may also be causing severe allergy issues for me personally. Burbank is entitled to make me sit in this toxic mold filled room and serve on a jury when they have made studio city their airports super highway and there is no flight traffic over this courthouse! So they are making me so sick in multiple ways I am so over Burbank, Burbank Courthouse and BUR airport. You are a terrible disservice to your neighbors and should be sued.

Sure, the facilities are run-down, and there is a persistent leak in the 2nd floor ladies' room. But unlike the other courthouses, there are only two levels of courtrooms here, so no time is wasted on waiting for and riding on slow elevators. Parking is also super simple, as there is free 2-hour parking on the street in front of the courthouse or in the lot directly across from the courthouse, and, if you are a juror, in the adjacent parking lot behind the courthouse. There is no snack shop located in the courthouse, but you will find two vending machines on the floor level, located inside the room for traffic cases. No matter, bc you are only a block away from all the restaurants on San Fernando. What's also fun is driving past all the TV studios to get to this quaint, little building. There is nothing depressing about this courthouse because, above all things, justice is done here on a daily basis. The judges are decent and know the law. And the jurors? As intelligent as they come. Hope to be back soon.

Good citizens are waiting to get in.

The clerks will not fill the forms out for you and there is no self-help center at this courthouse so unfortunately, there is no staff member to ask for help. I didn't want to hire a lawyer to complete my petition for a name change so I went to the online help center and used the online tutorial to complete the necessary forms AND apply for a fee waiver; I qualified and did not have to pay the $435.00 in court fees. Here is the link to the California Self-Help Center that can save you time and money: http://www.courts.ca.gov/selfhelp.htm Finding the court where I had to file my case was also a new experience (I went to the Long Beach Courthouse first and that was not the correct courthouse!) You have to file your casework with the appropriate courthouse that handles your case. MAKE SURE YOU BRING TWO COPIES OF YOUR CIVIL CASE FOR THE CLERK. DON'T STAPLE THEM UNTIL THE CLERK REVIEWS THE PAPERWORK. TIP: There is no parking at this courthouse. The parking lot is for employees only. Park on the street but the meters are coins only, no credit cards. You can also park a few blocks away and avoid paying meter fees. If you require personal assistance completing your legal paperwork and there is no self-help center near you, visit http://www.lawhelpca.org/ to locate a non-profit legal aid center that can assist you. I also recommend Community Lawyers, a non profit agency that I had the privilege of volunteering for. You can contact them here: http://www.community-lawyers.org/ Best of luck!

After that you can ask if they are kind enough to help where you need to go. Place hasn't changed one bit, old school court building. Had to get a inspection on my 3rd rear light and Sheriff Officer White assisted me and was awesome, big thank you to the big guy. Then I had to pay for the inspection, $17 bucks (cash or check only). After that I had to go to the 2nd floor to clear the ticket and show proof of insurance. Long wait time but I'm sure it gets much longer during the day since I went around 3pm. 4 windows but only 1.5 workers helping. Molasses moves faster. Got the fix up ticket almost 3 weeks ago and it still isn't in the system so I have to return then pay a additional $50 just to show them my printed out up to date proof of insurance. Guy at window stated just come closer to the due date... Wow Funny that when you get pulled over they check on your insurance to see if it's valid, at least I remember they did, now they don't bother and even though your policy number stays the same the officer couldn't simply check it was current. Well here is to that lazy officer and thank you for being such a profiling genius (sarcasm). Last time I was here was over 20 years ago. Hoping that in 20 years they have better staff, take credit cards and provide parking oh and have updated facilities...
