So disappointed. This restaurant used to be one of our favorites. Now they have changed the menu to burgers and pizza "bar food". They also raised prices and removed the hour play card option in the arcade. They also raised the prices of the arcade games. $20 will get you about 15 minutes if you are lucky. So the deal here is this place had been bought out by a major company recently. The food was alright before and decently priced. Since they had been bought out the food prices are absolutely nuts. A pretzel should not cost nearly $20. I'm not even sure why someone would even think of paying that much. The wings are the best thing here and my absolute favorite item. The staff is super friendly and they can't help the prices. They go above and beyond to help you. The vibe here is a typical sports bar, it is attached to the bowling alley and arcade. They deliver food to the alley and have wait staff for the tables there. Overall I don't really recommend the food based off the items and the prices. It's a nice atmosphere in here and they had MNF on several screens. We picked a small table away from the crowd. Many servers took plates away and checked on us during our meal. We tried the Nachos and loved em, but I'm sorry I didn't get a picture. The cheese was melted and the chips were warm but not burned. I tried the turkey burger and got mashed potatoes as a side. That's when I decided to make a review. The potatoes were hot! And the gravy was the real brown sauce gravy, yum. My wife got the tacos, but we were too full and had to get a to go box. read more

Without it being overly busy, our party of 14 got there dinners 45 minutes apart, in 3 different shifts. All of the separate orders were placed at the same time. We were there 90 minutes before the first plates arrived. When I finally got my food, half of the party had been done eating for 30 minutes and the rest for 15 minutes. My wife got the wrong sandwich brought to her and she hates mushrooms! The waitress did not seem to understand that several tables that got there AFTER us had gotten their food and left before most of us were done eating and that being busy does not excuse that. Most of our food was obviously made well after some that ordered after us. The waitress would not comp any of our meals, either. I do not plan on returning, and that is too bad, because the Cavatellii was excellent, when I finally got it well over an hour after ordering. Update: Reduced to one star because, after the fact, I found out that 2 of our party that stayed to play in the arcade, ordered something else after we left. The waitress let them know it would take awhile, which they were OK with, but upon bringing their order, she stated that if our group was not going to tip them, we should just go to McDonald's, instead. We had a fishbowl Long Island and a pizza. It was all pretty good. The host and our waiter were both very friendly. We came in early on a Friday and they were pretty busy but still managed to make us feel welcome. Prices were fair and the service was prompt and friendly. We will come back again. I think they need to but some more fishbowls glasses because they were wanting ours back before we were really done with it! Lol. read more

A sports bar style place attached to a bowling alley will have you easily expecting average at best bar food. But, don't let the location fool you.. This restaurant/bar is worthy of a higher-end stand alone location. It can be a bit noisy here (as expected), but the service is great and the food is really good. Great selection of craft beer can be found here too. Social has its own entrance, so you don't have to cut through the bowling alley or anything if you want to just come here to eat. This is definitely a worthy contender of high-rated restaurants in the eastern Des Moines metro area. read more

We went on a busy night and were not impressed with the food. I got the Italian sausage cavatelli. The marinara was sweeter than SpaghettiOs, so sweet that I could hardly taste the spice in the Grazziano sausage. My wife didn't have any complaints or praise about her nachos supreme, so there's that. Keep in mind that Social is a restaurant inside a bowling ally along with all the bowling ally noise. The positive is that they have a lot of craft beers on tap but a super sweet pasta with a Pseudo Sue isn't a good pair. read more

Absolutely the best pita chips for the spinach and artichoke dip. Their appetizer order is HUGE so I highly recommend spending an extra $2 to get more pita chips! The wraps were large and full of fresh ingredients. My fish and chips order was good, fried tasted of freezer burn. Friendly staff for a weekend afternoon. read more

Traveling through Iowa to Minnesota and needed lunch but wanted a locally-owned place close to the highway - luckily, Social delivered! I had the portobello burger and it was delicious. Lots of kids menu options for the littles and Iowa beers on tap for mom & dad. My girlfriend and I are always looking for something new to try so we found this place and man let me tell ya - it's a hidden gem on the east side! It's similar to Okoboji Grill/Legends but 1000% better. I've had the burger/fries, chicken wrap and shepherds pie! All sooooo delish! We've been back again and again and will continue to do so. Also, if you check out their Facebook page, they have weekly specials listed as well. For the Happy Hour crowd - there is the longest in the Metro (according to them) - 11AM to 6PM - decent choices. We stopped by to have a quick dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and atmosphere in the restaurant. It's surprising to find a restaurant that's this good that's located next to a bowling alley. But the separation is very well done and the sounds coming from the bowling alley our little to none. I had the Cavatelli and my wife had the Guinness fish and chips. The Cavatelli was excellent. They used gratziano's Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese and a very well put together marinara sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly and served with garlic toast which was very good. The fish was Cod in a light Guinness batter which was crispy and not overpowering. The chips were very thinly sliced and were crisp and tasty. It also included a serving of coleslaw. Our server, Anthony, did an excellent job at keeping our drinks filled and making sure we were well taken care of. The menu is not long, but has some interesting items. From shepherd's pie to unique burgers or pizza. They have a well stocked bar and serve many local IPAs and specialty beers.
