We visited this store during the week so it wasn't busy. In fact we were the only ones in the store yet the staff did not acknowledge us, ask if we needed help, nothing. Soccer Post sent me a Youth Jersey vs an Adult. Took over 2 months to even get them to start on the process of fixing their mistake and then they didn't have any in stock to give us the correct size and is now making us pay full price to get the correct sized jersey we originally ordered once it becomes available. Extremely disappointed with their customer service and wish I could take my business elsewhere. Such an awesome experience here, especially with the owner, Tom. We first visited this store in March in search for a pair of soccer cleats that we were not able to find anywhere, and Soccer Post was the only store that had it, except they didn't have our size. Tom offered to order online for us and ship it directly to our house with no additional fees - he provided tracking number the same night and it arrived the next day. When we received our soccer cleats, there were some minor issues with the shoes and when we called Tom back, he immediately shipped the new ones to our house with no additional charges just like last time. If you're willing to travel a bit farther, however, you'll gravitate to the Soccer Post, which has emerged as the best place to buy cleats, backpacks, jerseys and pretty much anything else that's related to soccer. What a great little find! Went here a few weeks ago to get new soccer cleats. Had a bit of a hard time finding a comfortable pair at some other shops, as my feet are pretty small and I'm usually in between sizes. Got great help here when I walked in, was recommended several pairs, and ending up loving the first pair I tried on! There was even a discount applied, as we play at Bladium. Good solid soccer store with helpful, friendly staff.They don't have a huge inventory of soccer gear, but they do have a pretty decent selection of soccer field, turf and indoor shoes. Don't bother wasting your time trying to buy cleats at Sports Authority or Big 5. Always feels good to support a small business rather than a big box store anyway. If you're a new referee, Soccer Post sells a good starter kit. If you want to purchase more referee gear, like rain gear or other shorts, you probably need to look to other sources. read more

Wasn't quite sure what rating to give, but the fact that I won't be buying here again pulled me towards the solitary star. The staff are great - patient, knowledgeable, etc, but the guy who runs the place seems to have serious difficulties with anger management and providing civil customer service. I bought some turf shoes, played ten minutes on them and realized they were wrong for me, and took them back to the store. Conversation went something like this: "Have you worn them?" "Yes, but..." "Have you worn them, yes or no?!" "Yes, I did for a short time, but.." "Have you worn them, yes or no, YES OR NO!" He then went on to say that shoes had to be returned "unused, just like it says on the receipt". I looked at the receipt, "Where does it say that on the receipt?" He looked at the receipt. Silence. Then he began to yell, "I am not in the business of RENTING sports equipment!" Anyway, to cut a long story short, I did not get to return the shoes. I realize that anyone can have a bad day, or an off moment, but this seemed to be a kind of active bullying. read more

Soccer post is for the intellectual soccer player. you can find things for men, women, girls, boys. everything from soccer balls to shin guards. the staff is not half bad either. the shoe selection and prices are the best you will find around here. and they take the time to make sure you get the right shoe for you. i have lived in alameda for a year and a half, and i do all my soccer shopping there. the owner tom is a nice guy and the rest of the staff are very helpful, especially the very tall one named jon. soccer post is the place for soccer! I just started playing indoor soccer and got everything I needed here. Well, almost everything. They didn't have any medium men's soccer shorts. Weird. At least the service was good. After going to big 5(read that review lol) i yelped soccer cleats n BAM this place showed up HELLA CLOSE so prompty dropped my almost purchase in a trifling line, n headed on over..and im SO GLAD I DID!!the selection was top notch even more colors than what was on display in some styles! One of the players in my U8 soccer team got a Medium jersey in a kit bag labeled YL purchased by my local soccer club. The player's father notified me, the coach, of the problem. I called SoccerPost and a young lady told me to send email addressed to the owner and that he would see how to resolve the situation. So I sent my email. And this is the response I got from SP, one whole day later: "the size indicated on the bag is irrelevant. " It would have helped to have been told this when I picked up the team's order. Still, how can the distributor of sports wear not verify the contents of its custom orders before its customers pick them up? SoccerPost does have a large and wonderful selection of everything soccer one may want and need. But, at least this one owner, has no sense whatsoever of customer service as a method of sustaining and increasing repeat business. read more

My daughter's soccer team was embarking on a community service/soccer trip to Ghana this past summer. As part of their trip, the girls wanted to organize a gently used equipment drive. Tom at the Soccer Post was elated to help. He allowed the girls to leave a bin for donations which was filled numerous times. In addition to helping with the drive, Tom donated dozens of new cleats, pinnies, etc. What a great experience for the girls who went to Ghana and even better for the wonderful children in Ghana who received the donations. Best place to go if you want some real soccer equipement /selection. Staff helping me have always been actual soccer players which is nice. Best advice / input on soccer boots you are going to find Ask about packages and discounts. I coach and they have always offered good loyalty deals for my players Cons are Minor. Stock can sometimes be up or down. Place can be disorganized. Don't have a good selection of balls for some reason! (I consider an exciting selection of balls to be decor in a soccer shop.)
