Awesome service really recommend their service will continue to use for future needs, I had them come out to clean up a palm tree, and after I saw the service they did I had to call them back out again to do more work for me around the house. They pineapple shaped my blue agaves and cut and shape the bushes that were coming over to my fence from my neighbors property. Thank you so much highly recommended them thank you read more

I called to have my tree trimmed, and Frank asked to see pictures of it. He could tell the tree was in bad shape. I didn't realize my tree was actually dying because of termites and disease. It was in such bad shape that it was hollowed out in the middle! He made arrangements to come out sooner than the original day/time out of safety concerns. I've had the tree for over 20 years, and the trees been with my home much longer. I was pretty emotional about cutting it down, but Frank reassured me that it the best choice. Once they began, I could plainly see he was right. His crew even cut some of the good wood for a keepsake. read more

I live in a townhouse with a tiny "yard." When I first moved in in 2009, my husband and I did some clean up before planting 2 mini fruit trees. This little yard of ours stayed marginally maintained until...a child was born. Then it went downhill from there. Then another child was born, and it went even more downhill. By the summer of 2018, it was a miniature jungle of weeds. The two mini fruit trees became not so little (Home Depot lied about the mini part), and those also desperately needed pruning. So I sent out some feelers last Thursday via Yelp. Frank at SoCal Tree Pros was the first one to respond. He said he'd come by the next day to take a look and give a free estimate. The next day, he arrived when he said he would and gave me a pretty reasonable quote. He said he'd come by later that day and should take about 2 hours to get the job done. Later that day, he called at about the time he said he'd return, and said his previous gig ran late, and due to ridiculous Friday traffic, he wouldn't be able to make it to my house and have enough time to do a good job. Now I appreciated this because I'd rather he come back another day and actually do a good job than rush it and do a half-a** job. We then set up an appointment for Monday. Monday rolls along. He and his crew arrived at my place slightly before the appointment, and they got right to work. I don't know how many trash cans of plant-matter they hauled out, but it's definitely beyond something I can do by myself. 4 hours later, all the weeds are gone. All trees were hand-trimmed--HAND-TRIMMED. The plants are even watered. The yard is cleaner than I've ever seen it. I didn't even know it could be this clean. Thank you, Frank and crew!! My parents have a rental property that has some fruit trees that need trimming and pruning. You bet I am going to contact Frank again for that. read more

Lightning fast response time, professional, and within our budget. SoCal Tree Pros was the only company out of 5 we inquired with to ask to visit the property before providing an estimate. Because of this, they were able to verify just how small of a job it was, and price it accordingly. We were totally flexible with timing and availability, so SoCal said they would text us when they were able to squeeze us in. Turns out, they texted us the next evening and the work was completed well before we anticipated. Our new trees look very happy. We will absolutely call SoCal Tree Pros again for tree planting services. read more

We recently fell victim to a large fallen tree. As did many in Rancho Cucamonga, due to forceful winds. We reach out to YELP for HELP. Based on photos, we received four competitive bids. The first choice was the cheapest and we got what we paid for. Resulting in miscommunication and broken promises. SoCal Tree Professionals stood by their name and reviews. They were able to quote by photos and made an reasonable adjustment upon arrival. The work was timely, complete and with professional results. It is the open communication throughout the process which secures the 5 star rating. Thank you Frank for the awesome job! read more

Going off of the reviews I read I went with SoCal tree pros. I called and got a hold of Frank. Unexplained to him what I needed done in my yard. First off I had a tree stump removal and second I needed someone to take out these nightmare chinese elm tree roots. Frank was great gave me the days he was free how much it would be and how long it would take. We settled on a week from the day we spoke. Day of Frank arrived at the time he said and quickly got to work, two hours and half later he and his partner were done. They did everything by hand too because all the work was close to sprinklers. Franks very honest and has a lot of experience in what he does he even gave me some advice on taking care of trees. I would give him a call when I need some work later down the line. Keep this place in mind when you are in need of some tree service. I was very satisfied with the service SoCal tree pros did. read more

We needed to trim a big tree before branches would damage roof. I took a few pictures from different angles and sent to Frank for a quote. As always, Frank responded within 30 mins with reasonable price with discount for returning customer. I was satisfied with his quote told him to come anytime. 2 days later, he showed up to my house. I saw same honest Frank as I saw last year. I explained what I would like my tree been trimmed and a few other tasks then I left him and his worker to work on their own with confidence. He was careful and took care all tasks as promised and cleaned all! I would highly recommended Frank as your tree guy if you need one! Thanks Frank! read more

Prompt and tidy, Frank removed my huge & wild growing Bouganvillea thoroughly. Patiently he led and trained my Tecoma Honey Suckle to climb over my backyard wall. He trimmed all trees and other climbers heavily but could still maintain the shapes as desired. He finished his work by cleaning all corners, pergola and areas around bushes and took all trash away. No doubt Frank is a professional gardener whom I strongly recommend without any reservation. Branda Yeung Azusa, 10/2/2021 read more

I highly recommend Frank and his team. I waiting for awhile before I wrote this review since I wanted to make sure everything was okay. Frank was not the cheapest, however I believe no other tree service would have done a better job. They went above and beyond what they quoted me and made me truly happy. They trimmed my avacardo tree and grinded many stubs. After they were done, I wanted a bit more trimming and they came back and trimmed the rest of the tree. The trees are still very beautiful and I am really happy with the work they have done. The only part I am not too happy was the broken sprinklers and pipes. I mentioned this to frank and he told me they were not responsible for anything under the ground. I was a bit upset about this, however I do understand where he is coming from since the pipes were right next to the roots and there was almost no way to not hit it. Over all, I am very very happy with Franks work and would highly recommend him and his team to everyone. Most importantly he was honest and reliable. He gave me his insurance information before starting the job and always came back to finish the job to my liking. Thank you very much read more

Frank did an excellent job trimming the three queen palm trees and removing several large bird of paradise trees in my front yard. He took extra care not to damage the plants that were located at the base of one of the palm trees. After the work was completed, his assistant thoroughly cleaned the front yard of all the debris from the palm and bird of paradise trees. Frank was friendly and professional. He also checked with me to ensure I was satisfied with his work before he finalized the project. I would definitely use this tree service company again in the future. read more

YOUR SEARCH FOR A RELIABLE & AFFORDABLE TREE PRUNING SERVICE IS OVER! Frank from David & Sons Tree Service is the most reliable, honest & hard working individual we have ever had the pleasure to meet. My husband & I have been using Frank's tree cutting services, landscaping & sprinkler repair services for years. He is so good with sprinklers that my husband calls him "The Sprinkler Whisperer". We have called on Frank to take care of our 3 properties, as well as my in-law's home & my parent's home. At my home, he transformed my front garden & back yard from a disaster to visual works of art. Using succulent plants & other water saving techniques, he even helped to cut our water bill. He always comes up with solutions to problems, and he does it with a smile. At our office, last week Frank HAND-TRIMMED with big shears two huge trees that were getting a bit out of hand. He made the trees look beautiful again, and without over-cutting them (which is something that I've seen other tree trimmers do). He really takes into consideration the aesthetics of the trees & landscaping of our properties. Without hesitation I always give his phone number to clients & family members in need of a reliable person who will get the job done. Frank earns an A++++ in our book. THANK YOU FRANK!!! read more

I've had Frank and his crew clear various sections of the long slope behind our home in the South Hills area of West Covina twice in the last 18 months. I looked into a few other outfits. I just didn't like their more mechanized process that seemed likely to damage parts of the slope I was trying to bring back to life. These guys worked closely with me to ensure that our newer landscaping wouldn't be disturbed as they took out what I needed to have removed or cut back. They even shoveled a huge pile of mulch they made for me a couple summers ago back into their chipper trailer, drove down to another part of our property and spread out over another slope where we needed it. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

During the recent high winds in LA, a large tree on my property had uprooted and fallen in the back yard. I searched yelp for local tree services in or around Rancho Cucamonga. Most of the decently rated ones were in OC and none would come out here. So I tried a local (unrated) service and it didn't go well (see my review for Chucks Complete Tree Service). I had to resort to Craigslist and found a few services. The only one that replied promptly and came over immediately to give me an estimate was Frank from 'David and Sons Tree Service'. Frank gave me the same advice as the other (higher priced) professionals had given me, however his quote was substantially less. He said it would cost less to put the tree back up than it would to take it out completely. But recommended taking it out with good reasons on why he thinks so. Similarly, he told me the overgrown mulberry tree taking over my backyard had to be taken out and the roots poisoned - otherwise this species of tree comes back from the leftover roots (this is very true, I'd once cut the tree when it was young and a new one came up from nowhere). He said if I didn't want to poison the roots, he can put oil in the bark - it's slower to kill but more environment friendly. This is what I ended up doing. I accepted Frank's quote, he came over the very next business day and finished the work the same day. I'm very pleased with what he's done. He also took out a palm tree. It was a California palm that I hadn't planted. Again, came out of nowhere... but was already 20 feet tall. He said the seeds come from the birds and that the tree can get to 80 ft tall. I asked him to remove that too. All these trees were at the boundaries (few feet from the fence) of my backyard and I was concerned that tree limbs will fall into my neighbors yard or that it will fall on the fence and break it. But they did it very professionally - nothing fell outside my property so they never had to go into the neighbors yard to cleanup. From the trees he removed, he cut the trunk into firewood so I can use in my outdoor fireplace. The rest, he hauled away at no extra cost. Also cleaned up the yard so there were no leaves or branches lying around. You could never tell that there used to be 3 extra trees in the backyard. I'm so pleased with the service, I'm having him prune trees at my other property as well. PS: He did say he was licensed and bonded but I never verified it. read more

Incredible work! Frank came with his crew and the spent the whole day trimming over 9 huge trees in our yard as well as trimming hedges and planting succulents. Their knowledge of all our trees and how to properly prune them was excellent. We learned a thing or two today. They cleaned up everything and were very reasonable for the amount of work done! Frank at David and Sons has trimmed my trees twice and always does a fantastic job! He shapes it well and thins it out without making it look like its bald. I've used Frank and his helper or small crew 3 times now: first time to bring some color in my front yard with hummingbird appeally plants; the second time to add more, and check my sprinklers, and fertilize; and last week he and a helper trimmed seven trees, beautifully, and got rid of some plants I didn't want, and moved a few. He thinned my way overgrown grapefruit tree. I came home and saw fruit, branches and leaves everywhere, as he worked up high, deep in the tree. A half hour later, the yard was spotless and the tree looked perfect. Frank knows how different types of trees need to be trimmed, like, for example, fruit trees can lose their ability to produce bountiful fruit if poorly trimmed or overcut. Frank knows that. He's trying to help me save my delicate White Paperbark Birch tree which is affected by drought. From now on, hiring anyone else to help me keep my yard beautiful would be ridiculous. I've found the best, price wise, too! read more

Stop looking for a tree trimming service now. David & Sons Tree Service is your company. I have used several companies in the past but not anymore. Frank came out to our property right away and gave us a quote on two of our 53 year old trees and offered suggestions on trimming and cleaning a few more. His prices were reasonable and his work was fantastic. Frank and his crew were the hardest working guys I've ever seen. They were also very caring and humane when finding bird nests in the trees we were cutting down. Frank and his crew know how to cut trees down with no damage to your property. We watched how precise they were at cutting heavy branches down by carefully lowering the branch gently to the ground as not to allow the branches to hit the roof or come close to a window. They also cleaned up the whole yard including all the leaves that landed on the roof. He grinded down each stump, covering nearby windows, so that the wood chips would not hit the window. In addition, Frank and his crew speak English, so there is no problem trying to communicate your instructions. As other Yelpers stated, he knows the different trees and how they need to be cut or pruned to grow even better. I would recommend David & sons to my friends and family and will use him again and again. read more
