Our business arranged to have about 60 boxes of documents shredded. SoCal Shred was to come between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on a Monday. At around 6:45 a.m. my wife heard a truck pull up to our home and drive off. I waited from 6:50 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. for the truck to return. No one showed. When I called SoCal at 7:40 a.m., I was told that the truck had trouble negotiating our narrow street (notwithstanding the fact that it had driven past our house earlier that morning). I was promised a phone call back. I did not hear back from them. Later that morning, my assistant called SoCal to find out why they had not gotten back to us. A SoCal employee offered to call us back and reschedule. However, we did not hear back from them until the following Thursday afternoon to confirm a morning appointment (same time as before) for the next day. That same evening, I personally spoke to the owner (Neil) who assured me that it would not be a problem for the truck to navigate our street. I gave him my cell and home number and asked him to please call me if there was a problem. The following morning, I again waited from 6:50 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. I called Neil's cell number at 7:45 a.m. and left a voicemail asking if the appointment would be honored. No one called back and the 8:00 a.m. hour came and went with no one coming. I figured one botched appointment was understandable. However, after two missed appointments and no communication from SoCal, I can only conclude that I can never use their service nor recommend them to anyone else. They cost me at least three hours of my time. I'm now looking for a dependable shredding company. read more
