I called their number yesterday and a guy tells me yes they shred and I can watch. I ask to verify the address and he gives me 1430 Reynolds # 116 in Irvine, telling me I can come anytime. Today I tried to deliver the two boxes I want shredded and find out it's a mail drop place. I call the phone number but nobody answers. Shred Connect started out working very well for us for the first two years we used them Very good service and reasonable rates. Then one day I speak with the owner, Anet, about a pickup and am told they are going to cancel our service because they are not charging enough for the bi-monthly service we agreed to. I said I understood, businesses need to make money, but asked why they also offer Quarterly service then. Anet replied that I could switch to quarterly service and my rate would go from $45 to $60 per pickup and I agreed. She sent over a new agreement for me to sign and I did so. About 3 weeks later (today), she shows up unannounced, picks up our shred bin and leaves with it. No certificate of destruction, no explanation, no anything!! STRANGE! Now I am out $60 for the bill I just paid her ten days ago and I have to look for another service. I don't know if she is having business troubles or just doesn't like us but it is a very odd way to do business. I called asking for an explanation but just got her voicemail so I left her a message. I guess business owners who don't like certain reviews can rewrite history in their own minds if they see fit but facts are facts and this person does not know how to run a business in my opinion. Funny she placed the blame on us and forgot to mention that she called us back apologizing for HER mistake and asking us to come back as a customer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS in my opinion. Hired them to do our company shredding in Newport Beach. At first, great, friendly service. Turned into quite the opposite. Had to call and text MANY times asking them to please come shred and was told every time that they would come as soon as possible, only to never show or even call or text to say they wouldn't be able to make it. The person I dealt with was named Jason. This happened for quite some time before I finally searched for a new shredding service, only to call several different companies & find that they are all the same, just different names. Why have so many different names for one company??? Is it possibly because of negative reviews? I don't know. I do know that I hardly ever go on Yelp, so if I do, it's for good reason. I received their service on Friday April 15, and Monday 18, 2016 very hot day. We had a self storage space in Irvine with full of legal documents all boxed up in 530 boxes. Branden at Shred Connect picked up my first call and gave me an easy quote on the phone. I researched several places then got several estimates from the well-known companies. All in all, I've decided to use Shred Connect because my 2nd call was picked up by Brendan's mom Annette and she was very nice and easy to talk. She gave me the preferable appointment date to my convenience. Branden came to see our storage and gave me a very reasonable flat rate which was as low as the well-known company's discounted rate. The whole procedure was not that easy due to the self storage's VERY unfriendly service. In spite of its difficulty, Branden and Annette both are very well communicated with me and worked very very hard to complete my demand. There's no such a time that any of them did not respond my text or phone calls. As Brendan's promise on the first appointment time, he, Annette and their associates did very clean job!! Our company has been using Shred Connect for a couple of years now and up until December or so of last year we were very happy with the service. Since then it has dropped dramatically. We've tried having them out twice this year, both appointments scheduled via e-mail with Anet, and both attempts were failures. The first attempt, they showed up unannounced and then didn't show up on the day we rescheduled for. The second attempt, no one showed up at all. I spoke with one of the guys that does the actual shredding today and he had no idea he was supposed to have been here yesterday.
