Started off great. Delicious meal preps saving you time, effort and excess calories. Delivery on time. Very convenient if you are willing to spend the money. I thought it was definitely worth it until these guys blew it in the customer service department. I was spending roughly $ 1200 per month consistently. Now if you had a business relationship with a customer where you are making that profit consistently wouldn't you want to provide good customer service if the customer had one complaint in 6 months? Also keep in mind that your meal prep delivery business is loaded with competition. So what was my complaint? Well I left town and decided to put the delivery on hold for a week. Someone screwed up on their end and they still delivered. Not only did the delivered food sit and rot on my front porch for a week, but they made a 2nd delivery on day 7 so there were 2 weeks worth of meal preps when I got home on day 8. When I got home I called them and told them what happened and asked them why they did not pickup the food when they arrived 7 days later if they still had me on schedule? They said they have no record of me putting it on hold to begin with. And that all they do is deliver and pickup empty bags!! Lmfao. So I said what the hell do you do? Just deliver food and collect money with no concern for your customer's well being since you notice rotting food and do not say or do amything sbout it? They still refused to give me a refund and they lost my business forever. read more

This is a great service! I signed up 2 weeks ago, and I am so happy I did! I LOVE the meals. They are delivered on time, customer service is great. I called before signing up to ask 5 million questions and Cal was kind, courteous and patient with my questions. I am a vegetarian, but mostly vegan, as I do not eat milk, butter, cheese or dairy, and try to eat lots of veggies and good clean eating. These meals are the bomb. I use to have a meal delivery service from EAT marketplace and these meals are a lot better, and they are seasoned to perfection!! They put together some combinations of foods that I would never have even dreamed up in a million years! Yum I will post pictures of them all. Not sure how the meat eater plan is, but if you are a vegetarian or a vegan and you want some great cooked healthy meals delivered to your home, then this is the service for you. I have been trying to lose weight for quite some time now. My biggest battle is food since I never have time to cook, so I decided to sign up for a meal prep/plan service. I chose SoCalFRESH because they had decent reviews and they give you the meals you choose weekly instead of a ton of meals all at once. I tried the 10 paleo meals and I was not impressed. The food isn't awful (except the salmon burger), but it also does not taste good either. They also gave me a lot of repeated meals; I don't feel like I got a good variety at all. I am such a foodie and I love to cook, so I might just be acting too picky, but I feel like the price is way to high for the quality and taste. I will be trying another company, so hopefully they work out for me. I would just say that if you are okay with your food being bland, then SoCalFRESH would be a good option. read more

It pains me to give a mediocre review to this company, because of the 3 locals I tried, they had the best veggie meals. That's why they won the competition for our business. That said, I've noticed a trend lately. About 60% of the time, I open my 3 veggie meals per week and think, I've been ripped off! Just plain ripped off! As a household of 1 carnivore and 1 veginore, we get 5 meals/week (3 of which are veg) for a cost of $77. At $15/meal this (see photo) is a rip-off, you guys! Now, I understand that I'm paying for the convenience of having healthy meals delivered to my home. But this isn't a meal! I have expressed to the company my disappointment and made it clear that the veg meals are my MEALS (not side dishes for the two meat meals). I've gotten these worth $2 side plates enough times now that I'm seriously considering canceling my subscription after being a loyal customer since February 2018. The vegan option was all over and the brown rice was not cooked enough and tough. I started my diet with SoCal Fresh about a week ago. The meals are delicious and so flavorful. Macros are on point, 100%! I did the Chef's Choice plan and received a combination of lamb, chicken, fish and ground beef. There were a couple meals that I enjoyed so much that I kept holding back on the Chicken Zoodles and Teriyaki Beef, but I have had both in the past two days and they were delicious. I have not been disappointed in any of the meals! I even hate blue cheese, so I was really disappointed when I found out the dressing for the Cobb salad was blue cheese, then I tried a taste of it and it was more of a tangy mustard taste rather than nasty blue cheese. I went ahead and ordered two more salads for my next delivery. I'm truly impressed, especially because I was skeptical after I had a couple meals from Fresh & Fit (their old company) and I stopped ordering. These meals are great for eliminating grocery shopping, meal prepping and trying to get variety. Especially if you're on a strict diet, it's hard to get this variety on your own meal prep initiative. Delivery Issue: I have an issue with the delivery staff. Every week the guy calls and makes it seem like a problem that he has to park and deliver the food to my door. You're delivering fresh food, not dropping off a newspaper. Dropping off food anywhere other than my door in a city filled with homeless people and theft is unacceptable. Freshness Issue: I understand that some of the meals read "expire 5 days after delivery". I was delivered Salmon burgers with an expiry date of 2/15/19, in mid-April. Socal Fresh has done a great job with their service. From on-time deliveries to great tasting food. I have tried a couple of these services in the past including blue apron and freshly and others. Either they were to much work doing the prep or the food just didn't taste right on the ready-made meals. I used to spend a lot of money buying groceries and a lot of them went bad waiting on me to prep them for cooking. With the Socal Fresh service they're ready made and all you have to do is heat them up. The only thing that I do not like is that if you order over six meals they do make deliveries on two separate days which incurs extra shipping cost. I am so bummed that I can't give more stars, because initially I really loved the food and was so happy with this service. I decided to try out the keto diet since I have gained a few lbs. I thought...what better way than to just have my meals delivered so I can stay on track easier? I tried a few other companies before this one (this is the ONLY one that charges for delivery..and only delivers once a week) and loved the reviews so I thought I would give it a try. Well, today hits the 4 week mark of only eating the packaged meals, tracking all my macros, doing high intensity work outs, etc--and I have gained 6lbs! (not the kind where you build muscle...like it's a noticeable 6lbs) I started looking a little deeper into the nutrition facts for these meals and realized they aren't balanced at all for keto and the calories of the daily plans were way higher than what my body needed. It's just too calorie and carb dense for someone who is trying to lose weight. Anyways, a lot of the food tastes really good so I unfortunately am bummed to have to cancel, I wish more than anything this had worked! They do have great customer service. :( read more

Just had my first delivery and I'm really impressed. I changed my delivery date and it caused some confusion and skipped my delivery. I contacted Cal and not only did he immediately respond, but he personally brought my meals to me in time for lunch. I've only had one meal so far, but it was delicious.
