No Frills appears much cleaner, brighter and thereby more welcoming compared to it's previous appearance, which is going back many years. The large store features a wide variety of food and other products on offer and I can't complain about the prices, and even less so about the frequent sales on quite a few items that I buy on a regular basis. I'm quite impressed by No Frills' efforts at maintaining a safe environment in which to shop in light of COVID: a quoue to enter due to a max. no. of Customers allowed inside at one time, directional stickers on the floor, plexiglass at the checkout counters and of course hand sanitizers at the main entrance/exit and mask requirements for Staff and Customers. I fully intend to continue shopping at this location on a regular basis.

I just returned to the Gladstone/Queen FreshCo to return the Piller's Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich packets I bought yesterday. My daughter noticed it was slimy and smelled bad when she opened it. The best before expiry date was September 28, 2023--3-1/2 weeks past due. I returned it and spoke with the manager who inspected my sales receipt from yesterday, October 22, 2023. He didn't say much other than I should exchange it at the checkout. I asked how this happens and he said the part time staff probably missed it. I went to get a replacement and found ANOTHER EXPIRED packet from September 28! When I showed it to him he shrugged and said the dates are actually suggestions. I raised my voice when I assured him the meat was slimy and smelled bad and he was minimizing a problem. It was a health concern. He asked me to leave.

I asked them to ensure it was '21 grains' as they have flavors like multigran, 3-grain, 11-grain and 12-grain which can be confusing if you do a quick look-bye. They reiterated they have '21 grains' so I said I'd be coming from far away, do they have alot in stock and I was assured yes there was alot. I trekked half an hour through a winter storm to get there, only to find out they had zero in stock. Thanks for the time wasted!

The prices are generally higher than many grocery stores.

With my umbrella protecting me from the rain, I headed inside the store to shop. This store has a Starbucks. There used to be a standalone Starbucks store nearby that I liked. It shuttered for good. It's good to know that if I need one, I can come here. I needed celery. The celery looked sad here. It looked abused and bruised. Poor celery. It was slim pickings, but I got some. There were some other items that were in better shape. Mushrooms were great. The hydrangeas looked healthy blooming away. The dairy-free beverage section made me happy. This store has a Joe Fresh section. I like browsing to figure out what styles are cool. The downside to Joe Fresh clothing is that articles that I have purchased in the past don't last long. I find that the quality isn't great. This place has portabella jerky. It isn't cheap, but it's nice seeing meatless alternatives. I was also happy with the Russell Stover candy varieties. I love this brand so much. I headed to the checkout and had a nice woman assist me. I paid with a debit card. I scanned my PC Optimum barcode from my phone. All went well. This particular location is in the suburbs and there is a small lot for parking. I decided to visit for their Mildred's Temple Kitchen pancake mix -- luckily I found it thanks to a worker. While I was shopping, I was excited to see that they had the famous cream top milk. There are so many premade foods, and cool products from companies I've never seen before. This grocery store chain reminds me of Village Grocer and Farm Boy. There are four cashier tills and they help bag your items. I'd come back to Summerhill Market to purchase some things exclusively, but I wouldn't make this my go to grocer as it's quite expensive.

It took me about 30 seconds of walking around to notice this, maybe their manager needs an eye exam? And isn't it about time Bulk Barn invested in technology to avoid people dipping there disease infested hands into the bins? I don't find prices that good either & have had some bad experience with freshness of their nuts! I'll stick with Costco / Kirkland brand any day!

Generally I find FreshCo the best discount grocery store…read more Their produce and fruit is much better than big box grocery store. This location has parking, but I find the lot a bit awkward. Cars always seem to be blocking another car's ability to turn. They sometimes have someone at door to disinfect carts, but lately that hasn't happened. I just do it myself as the disinfectant and towel is at entrance. Most checkout clerks can do the price matching now. Not all knew how to do it well but I haven't had issues lately.
