Took the dog for a walk through a "vintage sale" today…read more.. Great walk for the dog. Less thrilling for me. The parking lot was packed, which made me think we were about to stumble into something amazing. Instead it felt like an entire street of yard sales where everyone brought the stuff nobody wanted anymore... and now they all brought it to the same place. As we walked in, there were noticeably more people leaving empty-handed than people carrying bags. And the few who did buy something looked like they'd adopted a small trinket out of pity. "Vintage," apparently, is just a nicer word for old junk that survived the last garage sale. On the bright side... the dog had a fantastic time.

It has a lively atmosphere, especially at night when the lights come on and everything feels more vibrant. Parking can get a little hectic on busy weekends, but if you're patient you can usually find a spot without too much trouble. There are plenty of places to grab a bite, from casual snacks to sit-down restaurants, and it's also a nice place to just stroll around and people-watch. The giant Ferris wheel and outdoor seating areas give it a fun, almost vacation-like vibe. Overall, it's a clean, well-maintained shopping center that's great for meeting friends, going on a casual date, or just getting out of the house for a while.

The mall reminds me of the malls from the 80s except a lot more run down. It was fairly empty for a Saturday which is when I would expect to see the most people. A lot of nostalgic stores were there including a Spencers. There was a decent selection of stores from high end to normal. Majority of stores were on the normal side. The food court was a good size with a large selection. It is large and spacious with plenty of room to go mall walking on those really hot days!

Daiso literally has everything and anything you need at a super affordable price! The El Toro location is always clean, bright and well stocked. I like coming to this Daiso because parking is easy and the store is really big and the staff is always friendly and helpful. There are a lot of other stores and food options in this plaza so it makes shopping here a one stop shop.

Some items are priced higher depending on quality or function, but they have price sheets next to those items to indicate that it could cost more. For this visit, I did have a list of items I was interested in and was able to find such as, squeeze bottle for condiments, small mesh strainer, tempura paper liner and tongs. What I bought on impulse was the robe indoor house slippers, bear squeaky dog toy, card holder and a koi fish reusable bag. Their dog toys are perfect for my Pancake. She's obsessed with the bear since it squeaks and has soft limbs for her to chew on. They surprisingly hold up well with light play/chew, but most of the dog toys in our home are from Daiso. The only thing I couldn't find was the oil absorbing pads for used cooking oils. After frying, I used to throw a couple of those pads into a pan and it would soak up any remaining oil to toss in the trash. Was really useful to keep on hand, but I haven't found it in awhile. Besides that, I'm always happy to visit a Daiso and will be back soon.

We sat with our group of friends outside and conversations sometimes got loud competing with other tables, but there was great weather and plenty of tables and chairs. I even called Irvine dispatch (09/11/25, 9:30 AM), but the man who answered sounded half-asleep, spoke rudely, and sided with them. Completely unprofessional. Security is supposed to protect people, not harass law-abiding citizens. I will be pursuing this further with my attorney until there is real accountability.
