My experience with Eric at Golden State Leak Detection was extremely disappointing, and based on…read morehow he handled this situation, I do not consider his actions to be those of someone I can trust or feel comfortable doing business with again. I originally contacted Eric to perform a pool/leak inspection on a home I was considering purchasing. During our phone conversation, Eric requested that I pay $675 upfront. I paid him in good faith before the inspection took place. I was not provided with or asked to sign a contract or written agreement explaining the payment terms, cancellation policy, or whether any portion of the payment was non-refundable. Unfortunately, circumstances changed and I needed to cancel the inspection before any service was performed. I contacted Eric immediately, clearly explained that I was no longer moving forward with the property, and requested that my $675 be refunded. Instead of simply processing the refund, Eric initially asked if I wanted to reschedule and offered to discount the inspection. I again made it clear that I no longer needed the service and specifically requested my money back. I then followed up repeatedly by text and phone. As the attached screenshots show, I asked multiple times about the status of my refund and attempted to contact him, but I continued having difficulty getting a response. Eric also told me over the phone that the refund would be taken care of, yet I never received the refund directly from him. This is where I completely lost trust in him. When someone accepts $675 upfront for a service that is never performed, agrees that a refund will be handled, and then leaves the customer repeatedly chasing their own money, that does not inspire confidence or trust. In my experience, his actions did not demonstrate the level of honesty, reliability, or professionalism I would expect from someone handling a customer's money. Ultimately, after repeatedly trying to resolve the situation directly with Eric, I had no choice but to contact my credit card company and file a dispute in order to recover the $675. That is what concerns me most. No inspection was performed, I clearly requested cancellation, and I repeatedly asked for my money back. I should not have had to chase someone down or involve my credit card company to recover money for a service that never occurred. I have included screenshots of our conversation so potential customers can review the communication and make their own judgment. Based on my personal experience, I do not trust Eric with upfront payments and would not recommend sending money in advance unless you first receive a clear written agreement explaining the cancellation and refund terms. His handling of this situation caused me to lose confidence in both him and the business.

If you have a slab leak look no further, go no further you found your answer! One day I get a call…read morefrom my Tenant and she's telling me she's got water coming up out of the travertine tile in the kitchen floor. I'm thinking oh my gosh what's going on so I was looking looking and looking and finally found a company that specializes in slab leaks. I called pipeline. They came out the next day they identified which waterline was leaking through their sound technology cut a small hole in the wall to cap off the leak and then another hole to where the line was ending on the exterior of the house. They capped off both ends and then the next day they came back and did an epoxy seal on that line. The third day they came back reconnected the lines tested them that it was holding and boom all is good and I am so relieved. I didn't have to jackhammer hole in my kitchen floor with my travertine tile. Chris went above and beyond helping me even with another little Repair, I was doing it simultaneously. My Tenant is thrilled that her life wasn't torn upside down with Jack hammering not having the use of a kitchen for days, it turned out really good! The only thing that would made it above and beyond would be if they could've patched the hole in the wall and patch the stucco, but I'm still very happy and had an excellent experience!

I want to take the opportunity to thank Dean with Xpress Leak Detection for guiding our family…read morethrough two slab leaks in 2025. Our first leak was in our kitchen and Dean was our first call. We were very impressed by his patience and flexibility as we navigated between water remediation, asbestos abatement and contractors to rebuild. While it was our intention to repipe our home eventually (we had copper pipes and our South OC home was over 50 years old at this point), a second slab leak sprung up on the opposite side of our house 2 weeks after moving back home. After kicking ourselves for not doing it with the first leak at Dean's recommendation, we proceeded with a full home repipe with Xpress Leak Detection; this included the rebuild of the bathroom where the second leak sprang up. Not only was he super professional, but Dean answered every call, answered every question, had the best value and even recommended an insurance agent when our coverage was dropped because of the second claim. To add, our family was traveling during this time to attend a celebration of life and we were 100% confident with Dean and his crew going in and out of our home as they worked on the repipe. This review is LONG overdue because it's almost a year later but we're finally settling in financially and emotionally from the whole experience. We continue to be grateful to have found a trustworthy plumbing expert. Thank you, Dean!

Review of 2 Leak Detection Services June 11 & 12, 2026 This…read moreexperience was an enlightening one as I ended up dealing with 2 different companies for the same problem and got 2 completely different results. The concern was that my city water meter needle was slowly spinning and my back yard was soggy and muddy while front yard surface was dry although holes dug for planting in the front had water pool in their bottoms at 13" and 18" below surface level. I was concerned about a leak somewhere - the house slab or the irrigation system or a neighbor. First I had called a company in Anaheim. Their "technician" Gabriel, a young man, arrived on time. I explained my concern to him. I showed him the slowly spinning needle on the water meter and walked him through the dry front yard to the soggy, muddy grass and planters in the back yard so that he was aware of my problem. I showed him where the shut off valves were for the house and irrigation system. I watched him work and also guided him through the house so he could examine the pipes and fittings for each water outlet. He had a variety of devices in his truck. Started out with audio detection of pipes and fittings throughout the whole house. Next he used compressed air to 'pressurize' the system a couple of times but his gauges did not show the pressure drop which he had expected. Then he got out a noise emitting wand to try to trace the paths of any pipes below the surface and placed strips of tape on the floor. After 2 hours he admitted he couldn't find a leak and said his time was up unless I wanted him to keep looking which would cost more. He offered no opinion about why the water meter needle was slowly moving or why the backyard was soggy other than 'well you might be lower than the neighbors are and water runs downhill'. He never even picked up the tape strips he left on the floor. This company had sent a 'technician' who didn't really know what he was doing with the situation that faced him or, it turns out, with his equipment and he was unable to do the job that was contracted for. Nevertheless, that afternoon and the next day this company contacted me by phone, text and email with their invoice and request for payment. I would not recommend this company. There are better ones, see below: Second, I called Evans Leak Detection from Orange, CA who came out the next day. Their technician, Omar, arrived on time. I explained the situation and my concerns and walked the landscape with him as I had done with the first company. He examined the slowly turning water meter, got out his audio detection instrument and we walked throughout the house while he listened to the pipes and fittings. Through a series of valve shut offs he could determine the location of the leak. Since he felt that the slowness of the water meter needle spin did not indicate a leak big enough to cause the soggy backyard, he turned his attention to that. After examining the location with the most water, he got out his ladder, looked over the privacy fence and noticed the neighbor's planter adjacent to our property was water soaked while the rest appeared dry. He then examined the neighbor's water meter and found the needle spinning at a noticeable rate. He went with me to the neighbor's house, we explained the situation and were invited to examine their irritation lines. With the neighbors permission he shut off the valve controlling that section of their irrigation. They will make the repair. So, in less than 2 hours, both problems, the leak causing the water meter needle to slowly spin and the cause of the soggy back yard water problem were solved. I would highly recommend this company.
