I have to agree with previous reviewers statement this restaurant truly has a stunningly beautiful…read moreenviro to enjoy... that said... sadly that's about all it has. I wanted to actually explain why I'm giving it 1 star... Not for the poor service (they only had one waitress, so I can't fault them for that, or her slightly arrogant attitude (probably from being the only person there serving)... Not for the mediocre food... it's cars to mess up a burger, they were close (see photo). If you are in a town that was founded by artists in the 1960s one would assume you would take pride in how you plate, and present your food, especially for what you charge for your burger! But that's the kitchen... The French fries were delicious... the Greek salad (that they don't offer lettuce) isn't a salad... but it is a favorite in Israel, the Arabic culture, etc... a Greek Salad it is not... So why did I give them 1 star? The unkept restroom was so dirty, it makes other public restrooms look cleaner! The sides of the toilet that typically is just dusty had urine and poop (stains?) there! There was an unknown dust/residue on a cabinet and floor... If this is how you keep your unisex bathroom... how bad is it everywhere else? That alone did it for me... if I had seen this from the jump, I would have bolted!

It was my friend's birthday and she chose this spot for a birthday lunch. We went on a Saturday…read moreafternoon. It was a bit warm to sit outside (80°F) and the wait for outdoor was 30 min so we opt to sit inside. We still had a nice view of the golf course and the rolling hills behind the golf course. By the bar area is a huge bar bench with a huge open window. We didn't notice that spot otherwise I would have suggested it. (Next time!) The lunch prices were really great. Our total bill with tip was $50. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich that was delicious, juicy but also really messy. And my friend got the Bistro Burger. We spit out sandwich/burger in half with one another to try both. Although I liked my Buffalo chicken, I think I preferred the burger. We also both upgraded to truffle fries.

Upon arrival, the staff seemed a bit frazzled. The menu changed a few times, which made things a little confusing, but the two women helping us were very kind and did their best, they just didn't seem fully prepared for a group our size. We kept our orders simple, and surprisingly, the food came out extremely fast... before the coffee even arrived. Overall though, the food was good. I had the avocado toast, which was really tasty, and everyone in the group seemed to enjoy what they ordered. The real standout here is the setting, the golf course and surrounding grounds are absolutely beautiful and make for a really nice atmosphere. Overall, a solid spot for smaller groups or a casual outing, but larger parties might be a bit of a challenge for them.

Vibes: Chill, rustic, bar/high table seating inside and outside…read moreCrowd: Can get crowded but lots of seating Menu: Large beer selection, great bar snacks Value for price: 5/5 (great prices, large servings) Service: Friendly, recommends beers Parking: Street parking (downtown Ojai) Stopped by Topa Topa with a friend around 5:30P on a Friday evening. The brewery is super cute and cozy, with wood/black accents and a boutique shop in the corner featuring local artists. There is plenty of places to sit inside or outside or at the bar. The bartender helped me pick a beer, and it was happy hour, so I only spent $5 on my 16oz pour :) We shared the Krupuk and pickle plate. Krupuk = airy tapioca chips, melt-in-your-mouth or crispy, with two flavorful sauces. It was a pretty large bowl so great for sharing. The pickle plate was lovely, 4 types of pickled vegetables (cucumbers, red/white onions, and bell peppers) which went great with the krupuk. Great place to pass the time!

Their selection of brews are pretty extensive, so we selected a couple of samplers. I got The Tux, a nitro milk stout, and a seasonal cider (something with Harvest in the name), while my friend got the Good Good and Light Hike. Everything tasted great, though I'd probably ordered the cider again. We also ordered food from Sama Sama, a serving of their Wagyu Beef Sando and Chicken Sando. Wait time was roughly 10 minutes and was surprisingly served with a side of prawn crackers. I kept thinking that the wagyu was incredibly easy to eat and was done before I knew. Portion-wise it's a bit on the small side, but it had great flavor. All in all, a good place to past the time.
