The only bad thing about the Snowflake Inn is leaving. We've stayed in Jackson before and this place is the Taj Mahal compared to the last place we stayed at. It's not perfect but we are definitely going back. We had a nice outdoor fire at night and they provide real wine glasses for their guests. The Roman Spa was fantastic, and there were lots of places, both inside and out, where a couple could enjoy some quiet, private time. My wife and I signed up for a package deal that included messages and dinner. I "sacrificed" my message for my wife, which I would gladly do again. I would not, however, opt for the dinner at the 1785 Inn. It's not that we didn't enjoy the Inn, we just felt pressured to leave the beauty of the mountains to go have dinner that we had reserved in advance. read more

This was a last minute trip. Our favorite hotel in the area was full so not wanting to risk a bad experience we went with the highest priced availability that we contacted; $280 per night with taxes at the Snowflake Inn. Our complaints would seem petty were it not for the price. Given that very nice rooms are available in the area for under $175, our expectation was more than just a clean room with a bed and a bathroom, and on this basis the Snowflake failed miserably. The Good Located in the center of Jackson, walking distance to restaurants, nice exterior, very clean. Big common area with fireplace, pool table, etc. The Bad 1. Hot tubs in rooms (next to bed) are so large that there is little room for anything else. 2. Other than the hot tub the rooms are under furnished. Sterile, more like a Holiday Inn Express than a premium hotel. 3. Bathrooms have the bare minimum; sink, toilet and shower accompanied by two tiny cakes of soap, and a tiny bottle of shampoo. The single sink in the 10 foot vanity looked very lonely. 4. Beds and bedding were average. Unusually tall pillows so you may want to bring your own. 5. The only outdoor sitting area is a wraparound porch. Given the views could be very nice however in its approx. 70 foot length there were only 4 badly worn Adirondack chairs, one of which had broken slats. The ugly 1. The room that we were originally checked into initially had a windowless, closet like sitting area so after a bit of wrangling were given the option of upgrading to a $380/night suite which we did. Objective was to have a comfortable private place to check email, read online newspapers, etc. Unfortunately, the suite was in an area of the building where Wi-Fi didn't work. Maintenance reset the router however it made no difference. 2. After going to bed we tried to watch some TV however the TV didn't work. Seems the previous guest had screwed up the settings on the remotes. The person at the front desk didn't know how to fix it but offered to come to the room and see if he could "figure it out". Instead, we opted to get coached through by a maintenance person who called in from her home. Took thirty minutes to resolve. We have stayed at 4 and 5 star hotels in major cities - nightly rates comparable or higher - the Snowflake Inn tries to position itself as 4 or 5 star lodging for the area but fails miserably. read more

My wife and I have been going to the snowflake for years. Sue looks like she belongs in a Norman Rockwell painting with her apron, and Zeke (the black lab behind the counter). The no kids policy ensures a quiet time. As for anyone who complains about this place.....i feel bad for their spouse. If you cant relax here then i suggest therapy. read more

This place is definitely not worth the money. The rooms are right out of the 1980s. There were holes in the bathroom walls that had been sloppily plastered over. The towels were rough and cheap. The shower and sinks are made out of cheap bathroom fitter plastic. The bed was hard and the whole room needed a paint job. Basically, the room needs a complete renovation. The "spa" is surrounded by windows so be prepared for everyone to look in on you in your bathing suit as you enjoy some romantic time. The candles weren't even lit when we stayed there. The breakfast was really weak. They threw out some store bought coffee cake with some fruit. Now for the good stuff. My boyfriend loved the spa tub in the room. I enjoyed the firepit. Given the price for this place, stay somewhere else. These people charge high prices for low quality. read more

I want to first tell you that we were married here. We have booked each year, as we leave for the next anniversary stay and select our room. We fell in love with the living room feel the sitting area has, comforting teas and inviting homemade snacks. That is until our most recent stay. Ignoring that it lacks amenities that are standard in most other establishments, especially for the price. We are not new to the establishment, as I said, so we wait until we are alone by the fire and before our dinner reservation we begin looking at photos on our phones of previous stays. Reminiscing. Happy. Our favorite playlist was playing at level 3. At one point, I had to flip my phone towards my husband so he could identify the song playing. As he couldn't hear it while it was facing me. WE WERE ALONE. NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE. The woman from the desk comes to ask me, "do you have music playing?" She then points to the ceiling and says, "I do too, and your music is distracting me." She has an attitude you can feel. It threw us off. I offer to move. She'll accept nothing other than me shutting off the music. I'll be honest, I looked to my husband for guidance-is it just me or is this needless? Both of us, seconds earlier enjoying the Inn are left with no choice but to go upstairs and get to our reservation. As we reluctantly leave, the attitude from the desk clerk continues and needlessly escalated the whole situation. She tells us she'll fix us. She'll have us thrown out. The next day we wake. Lay around a bit and around 10 ish my husband goes downstairs and promptly received a phone call from Sue. The owner, insisting that we apologize or leave. He acknowledges that it was a needless escalation, but will not solely apologize. Instead asks that it be forgotten. We are then told to pack and leave promptly. Which we do. What we've lost is not just the great memories of our wedding, but each successive anniversary's stay. All as a result of one employees attitude on a Friday night. Now one of the most important memories for me has been forever tarnished by the way sue handled that night's events. read more

Our second year here for my wife and I to get away from our 4 girls. Sue is amazing. Our in laws also stay here and have had the same amazing experiences! Get the 3 or 4 day massages and take advantage of the morning fire place and coffee sitting area! This is our annual go to get away place for us after 20 years together! read more

I recently had the pleasure of Staying at the Snowflake in Jackson and I have to say it was spectacular. Sue, the owner could not have been more accommodating. We arrived LATE on Friday evening (after 10 pm) and with no restaurants open she called upon her local network and got one kitchen to whip us up something. The rooms were generous in size, very clean and appointed nicely. The lobby and common areas were impeccable. We thoroughly enjoyed the spa area for and evening swim. I have been visiting the area for 30+ years and never stayed here. I can honestly say I will never stay anywhere else in Jackson after our great experience. We feel like we have made a friend in Sue and met some amazing guests as well. Can't wait for our next visit! Thank you for EVERYTHING Sue. read more

The facility is very calming and is great for a couple get away. The ambience is relaxing. They have a great pool table room over looking an incredible fireplace. My only complaint was that the pool had so much chlorine in it that when I put the jets on I had a hard time breathing. I couldn't stop coughing until the jets turned back off. Other than that I will defiantly be back for another stay. read more

I know that I told you several times that "you didn't miss a beat" with your beautifully decorated and immaculate resort. But we really meant it!! The rooms are so spacious and the gas fireplace was amazing, keeping our room so warm and toasty. The breakfast was yummy with all of your fresh baked pastries, so delicious. And the firepit in the evening with smores was so much fun. What a wonderful place to escape the craziness of our everyday lives. The only bad thing about the Snowflake Inn was...that we had to return to Florida after staying only 3 nights!! I am reading these bad reviews from other ppl and think they are absolutely delusional! This is one of the best places I have ever stayed at! The smell of the Inn first of all is like apples and cinnimon when u first walk inn the door! Then the beautiful fire place in the lobby is decorated so intricately and classy and beautiful! The Owner Sue is one of the nicest ppl I have ever met, very accomodating and knowledable of everything in the area and takes the time to make her guests feel at home and a priority that we enjoy our stay! The place is quiet, romatic and the food that she puts out every morning is absolutely delicious, home made by her and baked fresh every morning, fresh fruit, home made granola, that she offered the recipe for also! I can't say enough good things about this place! The packages are reasonable and I defintely will be coming back and reccomend this place to anyone who has enough class to know what a good place is! Apparently ppl who write bad reviews about this place have no class! They should stick to the Motel 8 and not ruin a review for one of the BEST INNS In NH. read more

This is a true "bed and breakfast" inn. You can literally walk around in your pajamas and feel at home. It comes with a great jacuzzi in each room as well as a fabulous indoors heated pool. I also love that they have round-the-clock tea, coffee, and cookies which are great for a light snack at any time. I believe only adults are allowed at the inn which makes it perfect for a romantic retreat, especially during winter. I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a private, quiet retreat. read more

My husband and I celebrated our 5th anniversary here and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the room wth fireplace and large jacuzzi tub. We are very particular about where we stay and liked everything about it. It was very clean and exactly what we were expecting. The also came in and cleaned the next morning while we were out. We had pleasant interactions with everyone that worked here. Room was ready on time and the 12 pm checkout is great for a relaxing morning. The breakfast was nice and they have coffee all day. Crackers, cheese and wine were out in the afternoons. The beds were comfy. We were close to the lobby but did not hear any noises at all. It was a very peaceful and relaxing anniversary weekend for us. We will definitely be back. read more

I absolutely loved this place! And i cannot wait to go back. I got a deal off Living Social and I highly recommend this place. It's very romantic, quiet and peaceful. The ONLY reason i give it 4 stars instead of 5 is our room was not cleaned during our two night stay, we informed the owner and she was very apologetic and gave us new towels but i was still a little bummed that our bed was not made, etc. but other than that, there was not one negative thing about this place! read more

The Snowflake Inn is amazing!! My husband and I had a wonderful three night stay. Gary and Sue are so nice and have created the most perfect place for couples to relax and rejuvenate. You can't help but feel welcome from the moment you walk through the front door. Their attention to detail is like none other. The Inn is very clean and beautifully decorated. The meticulously clean rooms give you a sense of pure comfort the second you open the door and hear the tranquil music playing to welcome you. Every morning there is fresh fruit, yogurt, the most delicious homemade granola and selection of fresh little pastries. Also, hot coffees and teas available all day and fresh baked cookies to snack on in the afternoon. Being the summertime, we did get to enjoy time out on the porches and the fire pit at night. They even provide the ingredients to make s'mores. We met some of their staff whom were all so friendly and happy. We are looking forward to our next visit!!! read more

We stayed at the Inn for a family party in town given the fact that my families house was full. We visit Jackson roughly 6 times a year & even got married in town. We were really excited to stay here & the hotel allowed dogs which was a plus. Our dog travels with us constantly as we travel each week. I asked the staff not to clean our room when the dog was in there (he's in a crate, super friendly little fluff ball), however most dogs don't like the vacuum not to mention a stranger vacuuming right next to him. I knew this would make him nervous which it did. Upon arriving back to the hotel some guy who failed to identify himself was extremely rude & told us we had to take him with us each time we left as he barked non stop which is not like him. He than proceeds to scream at me that he "tried to call me twice". Well, that's great. He's calling someone that gets 100+ calls a day from an out of state number on a holiday weekend. I don't pick up those calls & he didn't leave a message like a normal person. It was an hour before the huge party, and I didn't have time to deal with this. I took my dog with me & he sat in a crate in the basement of our family house all night. Thanks for the accommodation. When I told them I was going to check out a day early, the following day, I was told I wouldn't receive credit for the night I wouldn't be staying. Thanks alot! So instead of being able to golf & go out to eat, we were held hostage by these innkeepers. You can't take your dog golfing! So we cancelled our tee time for the following day. When we checked out, no apology, nothing. I think these people like to play house & don't really know what customer service is. Our room was dated, a light bulb was out, two dead flies on windowsill & it was very noisy. Room size was good & fireplace would be nice in winter. Breakfast was not really what I was expecting. Continental?? Some yogurt, granola & bite size Danish & coffee. I have never felt so unwelcome in my life. I will be sure to tell anyone that ever thinks it's a good idea to stay here to run the other way. All 70+ people at the party were pretty shocked to hear about our treatment & I'm sure won't be recommending them either. Very disappointed! read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! We had booked a weekend at the Snowflake Inn and were very excited to visit. We go away a few times a year for a weekend and decided to try somewhere new. I had called yesterday to talk with Sue the owner since we had this blizzard coming and asked if there was anything that she could do in case we were not able to get up there and try to schedule another weekend- she was very rude and said no you will lose your deposit of $350.00 She said we can come up early to beat the snow and I let her know we were not able to get out of work to do so which is why I was trying to call ahead of time. Massachusetts called a state of emergency and no one is allowed on the roads past 4pm. My fiance called and spoke with Lindsay and she said we could try to work something out but it is up to the owner. When he called back Sue was just as rude to him letting him know the same story about how people come to NH for the snow and try to get up here early and that other guests were able to make it. She put him on hold a few times and the last time never came back to the phone!! I was furious because it was physically impossible to leave MA under the conditions and per the governor. When I called again to speak with her she kept putting the phone down without saying hold on to talk with guests, she was incredibly rude again and said we knew the snow was coming and should have left earlier!! I once again had let her know we were not able to get out of work. I asked if we could move our weekend to any other weekend and she said she was not able to accommodate it . I have NEVER been treated so poorly and that fact that they are keeping our $350.00 is so unprofessional and such poor business. I have friends and family who have stayed here in the past who are no longer coming back and I can assure we will NEVER be here either. read more
