My wife and I had met a couple friends here for dinner before heading to the theatre around 5:30. When we got there the place was packed, and people were lining up at the door to be seated, luckily for us we had a reservation (highly recommend doing it if attending on the weekend). While waiting for the others to arrive, we ordered drinks which were quick to arrive. Once we were all there, the service was quick and friendly, and everyone enjoyed the food. I had ordered the chicken nachos, which I would have to say are some of the best nachos I've ever had. My wife and a couple others had ordered the maple curry chicken pasta and salad and man was it good. In closing I recommend trying it out, my only real complaint, is that it is VERY loud in there. I believe this is due to the smaller size, and the way the restaurant is designed with lower ceilings in the back, besides that no other issues. read more

Very Impressed with the food. Me and my boyfriend went to the Snooty Fox for Valentines day Dinner. This was our first visit to the restaurant. The place was busy, but the staff very attentive. They even had a fun extra Valentine days menu. Off of which I ordered there Stuffed Mushrooms. They were stuffed with a onion cream sauce, and wrapped in bacon. They were to die for! I wanted more. But the waitress said there were a one time special. Maybe it will sneak on the menu someday :). We also had the chicken BBQ nachos, Which were a nice surprise. I never thought pickles on nachos would taste so good. For dinner we shared a Lamb Stew. Very good! I've never had lamb before, But I was very happy with the whole dish. Stopped in here for dinner one evening on the road during a 16 hour cross-country drive. Wasn't super busy (8:00 on a Tuesday night) and were greeted with menus promptly. I had the veggie quesadilla with an upgrade of sweet potato fries. The quesadilla was neither here nor there. Jarred salsa (was hoping for a pico de gallo), cheese and some peppers and bbq sauce (tasted weird in a quesadilla). The sweet potato fries and curry mayo however were very good! My friend had the Wyatt Earp sandwich (steak and a bunch of other stuff on a ciabatta) and he was in love. We split a carrot cake for dessert (yummy, though for $6.50 I would have expected a larger slice). Came here the other day and as always had to wait for a table because the food and atmosphere is so good and I promise you is always worth the wait! We ordered the nachos but got them on cactus cut chips instead and I'm still dreaming about them! We also shared the Steak and Goat Cheese salad and as always was perfect! Went to snooty fox on a recommendation from our B&b hosts. The outside and decor are a bit deceiving. It looks like a fox and the fiddle but the food and local brew was really phenomenal. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back. read more

I stopped in here with my friend based on other Yelp reviews and got the bbq chicken nachos also based on those reviews and let me tell you it changed the way I see Nachos. I never thought I would like pickles on Nachos (and neither did my friend) but it was wonderful. Definitely worth going to and trying and also the Pulled Pork rolls are wonderful! OMG this place was fantastic! I was in town on business and a group of us went there after work.... it's a hard life of eating on the go every day and when it comes down to it, you really crave some much needed vegetables before the scurvy kicks in..... I felt that way until I saw the BBQ Chicken Nachoes... the key to the success of these are the pickles - whoever came up with the idea of a bed of nachoes hosting dill pickles was a genius. Thankfully my brain overpowered my desire for cheese and grease and I got the Chicken Basil sandwich with a side greek salad (which was quite possibly one of the best side greek salads I've had in my life) but I did indulge in the guy's next to me nachoes to get my bbq chicken/nacho/pickle fix. Their beer selection was great. The servers were so knowledgeable about the food and drinks. The service was superb in general. I would say this has been one of my most faved food memories on the road thus far.... Mega thanks to the Snooty Fox and to my friends at UNB and St. Thomas for recommending it! Having only been a few times, when in town visiting family, I enjoyed it. A little crowded and loud (in true tavern style), but with a nice warm atmosphere- not the typical dirty floor, spilled beer feeling. The nachos were great and the beer selection was nice too. I came here because it was the highest rated restaurant in Fredericton. I had read multiple reviews that raved about the BBQ chicken nachos. I was pleasantly surprised to hear on arrival that they had an upstairs patio. Being here alone on business, I was excited to soak up nice weather and beer. Once I picked a spot, I ordered a local beer and asked the server for recommendations. She recommended several things including the chicken basil sandwich and the veggie sandwich (which I was considering). But I ultimately went with the chicken nachos because she said they were her favorite (and because I'd read so much about them). Don't get me wrong, the nachos were good. I enjoyed them. But they weren't great. To be fair, I ordered them without pickles (not a fan) which appears to be many people's favorite part. In the end, I was certainly full (large portion), but I won't say I was stoked about my nachos like some others that have reviewed them. However, the patio was busy and fun and would have been a great time if I would have branched out and socialized vs. indulging in my nachos and reading my phone. read more

My favourite downtown Fredericton restaurant. I've been there about 8 times in the past month (June 2016). Great local beer, good food, very good value, good service. Highlights: lambstew is large and comes with large and very good green salad and garlic bread; and it's only $15. Pastas are large and yummy, w garlic bread and only about $13. Good shepherd's pie, burgers, wings, and ribs. I'd pass on '1/2 price appetizers' night as many app's are not offered. The decent & huge nachos are though and would feed two for $6 (that's 1/2 the usual price)- hard to beat for people on a low budget. Also had the salmon w pesto and goat cheese on my last night in town and it turned out to be my favourite thing I'd had. Excellent place, deservedly snooty (which it decidedly is not). read more

Great lunch specials, though it would be nice to have their wonderful fish n' chips as an option. Server made the mistake of not initially putting in my request for sweet potato fries, but without a single begrudging complaint from me rectified the situation and rectified the bill so I would not be charged for the item. And sweet potato fries were delicious and worth the wait. The restaurant has the option of deck seating during the nicer weather. Also be on the lookout for the Fredericton tourism book, which usually includes a coupon that can be used during peak season. read more

Not bad, but nothing that left a real impression. One time, whilst on a date, I was there while the staff was having a party and, among other things, I saw two (female) workers make out, the waitress serving myself and the missus literally fell down at another point, and then she proceeded to interrupt another table by saying "enough with the chit-chat, let's talk booze" (they were noticeably uncomfortable about this). Other than that experience, though, the staff has left me with nothing to complain about, necessarily, though I wouldn't say they're particularly good. Just the average Fredericton service attitude - take that how you will. The booth seating toward the front is horribly uncomfortable, particularly if you have a little meat on your bones. Beer selection is what it is, I suppose. Not the best I've seen, but not the worst. I'll still darken their hallways once or twice a summer, if only because it leads to the rooftop patio. read more

I used to love Snooty fox when I was a non-vegan, but now as a vegan it holds very little excitement for me. There is minimal option, pretty much salad, fries, and nachos without the cheese. If they added more vegan options my review would hop up to four stars instantly. The atmosphere is pretty good, typical pub feel. God mixed drinks, I recommend the Electric Popsicle. Having started my trip in Portland, Maine to see George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic play a great show, and celebrate my friends birthday, stopping for two nights in Denver and Boulder, and then driving another 1200 miles to South Lake Tahoe, California to go skiing for the first time and celebrate two more birthdays, the last place I pictured myself to be eating ribs was 5 hours north of Maine in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. However, life had other plans for me. I had never really heard of Fredericton, let alone much about New Brunswick, Canada, I have to say that it is way cooler then I thought it could ever be. Getting there took leaving from Reno, Nevada at 7:30am, flying to Denver, Toronto, Montreal and finally arriving a little after midnight at the smallest airport I've ever seen. On the way, I was told of the great beer and local seafood that lay in store for me by Canadians. My first day in Fredrickton, I asked the locals for the best local bar food. They told me about a place called the Snooty Fox. It was raining torrential rains and actually flooded, but I asked my hotel for an umbrella and walked until I eventually found the bar and immediately asked for the darkest beer they had. After being offered a Guiness, and shaking my head in disgust I was poured a Picaroon's Winter Ale by the bartender. This beer was truly amazing. It is my favorite microbrew of they ear by far. I am looking forward to bringing some back to Boston and will insist that Marty's has someone drive it 5 hours down south. It's better then Bar Harbor beers (which are really good) and is the same distance. Next was of course food. Being starved after my long journey, I looked at the menu and the obvious choice was Ribs and Wings. Now, earlier you may have read about the Memphis, TN ribs. Those were good. But, this my friends, was truly magical. I will go as far as to say epic. In fact, I refrained from writing this last night to make sure that I didn't overstate things and woke up feeling the same way. The Snooty Fox, in Fredericton, NB, Canada, has THE Best BBQ Ribs I have had in North America. They were so good I ate a large chunk of all three rib bones, and I have never eaten any of a rib bone before. Even the bone was exquisite although I was dissuaded by the bartender, and surely suffered some damage. It was that good. They must have cooked these things for many many hours if I could chew away at the bone and yet they were not in the slightest overcooked. I returned to my hotel entirely satisfied and submerged myself in a steam, jacuzzi and pool until I felt one with the universe, no joke. Yet all I could think about until I fell asleep was how freaking amazing those ribs were. Oh yes, the wings were alright and the fries were awesome. I've eaten there several times over the years. I usually order the nachos and beer. I've had their calamari and ordered their deep fried cheese sticks. It's all pretty delicious. There is always cheap beer to be had- some days have pitchers of local draft going for 9.50! Wings are good but I have to tell you- the nachos are just fantastic. It is usually packed with university students from mid week on. During the day, it has a good mix of locals as well as tourists. I've eaten here a number of times and I find it hit or miss. I get the impression that its standards have slipped a bit but they're trying to get it back on track. The things they do well, they do really well. The last time I was there I had a pulled pork sandwich called The Duke of Charleton, which was delicious. The time before that, however, was a lunch order of the butter chicken. The curry itself was ok but tasted like the curry sauce was probably from a jar. It was served with pita points (wat?) and I'm sad to say the rice, which looked to be some sort of converted rice like Uncle Ben's, was so bad it was embarassing. Owners, managers, if you're reading this: if you can't be bothered to serve proper naan and basmati rice, axe this dish from the menu. It's gross. read more

The only drawback is that sometimes if something happens with staffing or if it gets really busy they have a tendency to go a very long time without coming to your table (I once waited a whole hour.) The Snooty Fox, perhaps one of the only places you'll be able to find the" Fox Tail" Picaroons beer. Which I might add is quite satisfying. The place is a pub no question about it, it is often very busy and the TV's are perhaps to loud during the evening. If your looking for a good conversation over drinks perhaps not the best place. But if you want to watch the game and have a cold one there are few places better. The food is great but a bit pricy. The outside of the building looks a little seedy for my taste but once your inside its nice and cozy. Over all its a good hang out, one that trumps most of the competition in town. read more
