Fried green tomatoes! Enough said! Fried shrimp and fish was amazing also. I chose seasoned French fries and cucumber tomato salad for my sides. Mac and cheese loaded with brisket? Fabulous! The loaded queso was awesome!

Are you kidding me? Hey, Texas Monthly, come try this place ASAP. No nevermind, I want to continue eating here without a wait. Seriously, this place is truly a hidden gem. Food is 100 stars. Chicken Fried Steak is cooked to order. Batter and gravy are better than Grandma's. Steak cut isn't fatty like most restaurants. They don't skimp on quality here. Mashed potatoes and collard greens are just the icing on the cake. Burger? Shut the front door. Could easily win ANY burger contest. I'm sold. My new favorite spot. I'd drive hours just to dine here. Chef is super talented and delivers dishes with some flavor now. And service is top notch in this cozy restaurant.

Snookie's craft kitchen chicken fried steak

This place has absolutely the best chicken fried steak in the state of Texas. It is huge fresh made absolutely fantastic chicken fried steak. You better be hungry when you order this cause there's a lot there to eat everything. The chef cooks is fantastic. It's all scratch made fresh made none of that. Processed frozen crap like you get everywhere else if you're ever driving up 281 in North Texas you better check and see if Snookie is open, he won't go wrong eating here and you'll ask yourself. Why the heck haven't you been here sooner?

This is the cutest little restaurant ever! With the sweetest owners and staff who make you feel very welcome the moment you walk through the door! The food is 10/10, everything is incredibly fresh and the presentation on each dish is perfection! They offered complimentary mimosas for our Sunday brunch! We will be back weekly!! New favorite spot!

3.5 This location is about 20 minutes away from Wichita Falls, small and very clean. Love the artwork of fun animals throughout the building. The wage is very high and tentative. The head chef D came to check on us have conversation and let us know about all the items he like the most on the menu. The catfish it was good but could use a little bit more seasoning. Macaroni cheese with a little bit of watery from my taste, but many people really enjoyed it. The egg rolls were good. Then the chicken wings were super crispy but the lemon pepper I wasn't very pro and couldn't taste it all really. The meatloaf was OK. The black and catfish also looked really nice. They did have Military discount and also sales pictures, cowboy hat, seasonings, and I like their hot sauce. All in all will definitely come back here again and try something different. The hospitality is amazing. You should definitely give it a try. This is not necessarily in a location that I would come to at night, but great to try for brunch or lunchtime.

Scotland TX (pop. 400) is a proverbial wide place in the road about 20 miles south of Wichita Falls TX on US281. We likely would not have stopped here if Snookies Craft Kitchen was not a Harvest Host site. We were traveling across north Texas and needed an overnight stay in the vicinity of Wichita Falls. Snookies stood out on the Harvest Host app. What a stroke of good fortune! They have a dedicated RV parking space along the fence at the far right hand end of their parking lot. The large gravel parking lot had plenty of room to unhook our Jeep and maneuver into the level parking space. The cream at the top of our stay, however, was dinner at the restaurant! They have an extensive selection of "big city" menu items with excellent quality food at small town prices in a comfortable casual setting with superb service. The deep fried jalapeño bacon pimento cheese balls were amazing and the Almond Joy cake dessert was absolutely decadent. This seems to be a destination dining site for folks from all the surrounding towns as well as the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. If you are in the area Snookies definitely should be on your bucket list!

STOP ... JUST STOP! You'll be glad you did! Don't blink or you'll miss this gem.  Located in the middle of nowhere, Snookie's is a food haven for hungry travelers that have a big city palate. It was the perfect mid way stop for us between Amarillo and Granbury TX.  And I have yelpers to thank for helping me find it!   It has an upgraded rustic vibe with ample seating.  Its light filled, clean, and open concept with fun animal themed artwork made this place feel young, fresh, and inviting.  So much better than those dusty old roadside dinners you find in these itty bitty ghost towns.  And using "craft kitchen" instead of "cafe" intrigued me as well.  Could it really be??   There's a great story behind their name and should you find yourself there on a Sunday - just ask the owner's mum to tell you.  I knew there was a story there.  Cute little local family business.  Staff all looked genuinely happy to be there too and were cheerful and helpful.  The Sunday brunch menu was filled with a nice variety of options from sweet, to savory, to spicy.  Sunday brunch also comes with a free mimosa (or poinsettia) which was a really nice touch. We opted for the Chicken & Waffles and the Breakfast Enchilada.  I'm telling you - these dishes were right up there with the best I had in all the big cities I've lived in.  The waffle was for sure 'Texas sized" and came with a generous amount of chicken.  The chicken was seasoned spot on with a light breading that didn't overwhelm the moist large chunks of chicken and it complimented the crispy and very fluffy maple waffle so very well.  A dynamite pairing of sweet and salty.  Truly was one the the best C/W's I've had in a very long time!  My mum got the enchiladas and the bite I had was a spicy and creamy dream.  My mom was raving about it as well.  I wish this place was near my house, cause I'd be there all the time!  Just so good! I've bookmarked this place and should I ever find myself on 281 driving through Scotland, TX I will for sure hold out from stopping anywhere else and give this place my business.  Bravo - I wish them the best of luck for the future of their amazing craft kitchen.

As…read moresomeone who appreciates attention to detail, I was thoroughly impressed by how pristine the entire establishment is--everything from the dining area to the restrooms is maintained to an incredibly high standard. Beyond the cleanliness, the atmosphere is warm and exceptionally welcoming. The staff is genuinely friendly, and the owners go out of their way to ensure every guest feels truly taken care of. It is rare to find a place that balances such professional upkeep with a personal, "home-away-from-home" feel. Highly recommended for anyone in the area looking for a quality experience. The food is great. The plates are small ( which is fine ) but it would have been nice to have a bit of room to cut up my food , and I'd add a second side to anything that's not a sandwich, but even with just one side ( steaks get two ) you don't leave hungry. ( extra sides are 4 a piece) The only other suggestion is a basket of homemade bread would be perfect for this establishment . It's a southern food , steaks and gravy type place. A basket of bread would make it perfect . Great place though . We would go out of our way to stop again.

We had made arrangements with our brother, mother, and auntie to go here for lunch. They've been open just under three months now. Technically this a fusion restaurant as within these very walls is also The Scoop Shack and its owner Kyle. Leslie is the propreitor of Pecan Street Cafe. I had the #3 Hoagie with substituted sourdough bread instead of the all-white brioche bun, which consisted of a wagyu 100% beef patty topped with locally smoked and sourced all-beef brisket. A specially paired side of BBQ sauce was provided. I didn't find it necessary to use as I had ate most of the meat already before realizing the sauce was on my dish. I also had a salad with ranch dressing. For beverage I had fresh brewed coffee with half n half. Definitely will be back, would order again! My mother had #4 Burger on homemade Brioche Bun with a side of fries and for a drink Dublin Cream Soda. She said it was Delicious. My brother had the #8 Sandwich which is Sliced Ribeye Steak with sauteed onions, mushrooms, and jack cheese on a bun. We were talking about Phillies and this what they suggested from their menu. For his side he took a small salad and ranch dressing. He also enjoyed a very refreshing unsweet tea. My brother tried to describe it as good and I said use another word, he then said it was savory. My sister had the #6 Burger with sauteed onion and mushrooms, and jack cheese. She also had a side salad with Ranch, and a Sweet Tea. You can't break some people of their habits and upon pressuring my sister for an alternative to good she went with "really good". My auntie had a hamburger with no modifications, except for all the vegetables which she had delivered on the side. She enjoyed mac and cheese for her side option, and for the cold drink she went with a Diet Coke. Good is a good word but over-used so when my auntie tried to describe it as good, I asked for another word and I got scrumptous. They decorum is very clean, and I want to say "old cottage" feeling. I like it. There are plenty of icecreams, and baked good to be had and while I did not partake, my aunt bought a cheese cake for her and mom to share. I think they enjoyed as they were very chatting while consuming it. The walls of store are lined with various keto goods, and odd knick knacks all for sale that vibe with the restaurant but do not take away from it. For example Cowboy Candy caught my eye, as it was a type siracha based sugar treat of heat. Also catching my eye were the honey spoons. My mothers eye was caught on the Bob's Red Mill bread mixes.
