Fresh, crispy catfish with homemade tarter sauce, beans and hand cut fries.

We stopped in Murn's for lunch and it was Catfish Friday. The most delicious, fresh, crispy catfish with yummy beans and hand cut fries. My husband had the small chicken fried steak and it was wonderful too. The atmosphere was fun and the waitstaff very attentive and friendly.

Great local diner with very nice service and pretty good Chicken Fried Steak lunch. Seems to be the hot spot in town.

I've never seen an El Diablo any where else (chicken fried steak with pico, jalapeños, and covered in queso) and it is by far my favorite.

As…read moresomeone who appreciates attention to detail, I was thoroughly impressed by how pristine the entire establishment is--everything from the dining area to the restrooms is maintained to an incredibly high standard. Beyond the cleanliness, the atmosphere is warm and exceptionally welcoming. The staff is genuinely friendly, and the owners go out of their way to ensure every guest feels truly taken care of. It is rare to find a place that balances such professional upkeep with a personal, "home-away-from-home" feel. Highly recommended for anyone in the area looking for a quality experience. The food is great. The plates are small ( which is fine ) but it would have been nice to have a bit of room to cut up my food , and I'd add a second side to anything that's not a sandwich, but even with just one side ( steaks get two ) you don't leave hungry. ( extra sides are 4 a piece) The only other suggestion is a basket of homemade bread would be perfect for this establishment . It's a southern food , steaks and gravy type place. A basket of bread would make it perfect . Great place though . We would go out of our way to stop again.

Our drinks arrived fairly quickly, but then we waited 15-20 minutes before our server came back to take our order, even though the restaurant didn't seem very busy. The biggest disappointment was the salad. There was an upcharge for it, but it was mostly lettuce with a few shredded carrots. It definitely didn't feel worth the extra cost. I ordered the chopped brisket. The portion size was generous, and the brisket itself had great flavor. The only issue was that there was quite a bit of fat mixed in with the meat, more than I would have preferred. Overall, the food had some good qualities, but the slow service and disappointing salad made the experience less enjoyable than it should have been.

She had our sweet teas (which we actually nice and sweet) at the table fast. I ordered the fried mushrooms which were nice and hot, but needed seasoning. The house salad had onions, garden salad and 1 tomato. I ordered the four piece fried catfish. It was small pieces, not overcooked, light and needed seasoning. They had tobacco sauce, but Texas Pete would have made it better. The hush puppies were okay. Food came out pretty quickly as well. It has been a while since I have been here, but it was good considering needing seasoning. We are glad we came. They have military discount with a valid ID card as well.

Last time our group came we realized that the menu prices didn't match the tickets that we received. Wayne gave only 1 of us a $5 coupon. We received our dollar back, so it was not a problem. Our group came back today, saw our favorite waiter Juan who already knows what drinks we like who needs a military discount and what we will order normally. When it was time to go, one of my lady said that her bill was wrong, because it didn't match the menu. I looked at it and realized we just had that issue last month which meant for a month people paying an extra dollar on their meals. Last time we came Wayne said he going to be fixed. So we had four bills that did not match the prices on the menu. I asked Juan to let the manager know since we had already done this dance the last time we got food here, but wasn't worried or agitated, because I was heading out to work. When the manager Wayne comes he hugs and greets one of my friends who he gave the coupon to last time. I was about to leave, but said that the menus don't match the prices again and we already talked about it last time. Even though Wayne has tons of attitude on a regular day, he said that I needed to be Kind like I was a kid!?!? I looked at him I said this is his kind with no loud voices, no frown. If somebody tells you that you need to be nicer to them when they made a mistake and didn't correct it the first time, while people are paying extra per ticket. He was hostile, but made it seem as if i disrespected him. I picked this place for lunch, now I am being mistreated by the manager for pointing out an error. Then he asked me my name, I was paying the bill and was over the altercation. He would not let up and kept telling me that he's having a busy day and how I need to Be KIND.... It wasn't a big deal to me, but he made it one being loud in the Restruant standing over me. I don't really speak to Wayne, because we don't joke the same I am here to eat and leave, but he is a bit extra. I was just telling some friends how I liked the vibe of the restaurant this weekend, I have given some good reviews. Wayne was beyond rude and unprofessional, we all agreed. It came out of no where, we thought he was joking at first as he does a lot, until he kept taking down to me. My group will no longer come here, since you never know how you will be treated. I come in order pay and leave there's not much conversation as I've written in a previous post. My crew and I agreed and informed Wayne after each of us felt he was avoiding the Brown skinned patrons, he would go around the restaurant speaking to everyone except our table multiple times. It has been better, with playful banter the last few months. The salad bar price is rising it started off at $10 w/a big and small plate, but is now $13, but you pay $14 on the receipt and they want to take your tiny plate away, unless you request it. I understand things cost more, so it's fine. Since it's close to where we work and most of us are trying to have healthy options, grabbing a salad for lunch makes good sense. The salad bar is usually clean and fresh. Like I said Juan has amazing customer service and is always super kind and nice to us no matter how busy or crazy it might be in the location. FYI, there is a store at the bottom that is extremely political and can make many people uncomfortable to walk through, if that is not your party. The way that I was treated today was overboard and unacceptable instead of squashing it the manager kept wanting to speak to me as if I was a child when I wasn't speaking to him at all! The only brown table in the room and he kept belittling me saying that I need to be Kind when I wasn't even talking to him and he doesn't know me at all. I have a friend that comes with me that literally yells and screams, but it seems as if he only has an issue with those he chooses to have an issue with. I have spent quite a bit of money in this restaurant, but I will no longer come again, but will miss Juan. It is unacceptable to be treated in this manner because a customer had to say more than one time that there's an error on the menu and you don't like to take accountability. A dollar isn't much, but they add up. Whatever the price is that you were telling people to pay that's how much the price should be. It may take a moment, but staff should adjust the price at the register to prevent confusion. I was told by 3 of my ladies on Saturday that during the nighttime they get a smaller plate than the daytime for the same price, which would be not worth $14, it if that's the case. I don't eat anything else on the menu, because I I have not found anything else appetizing and fulfilling for the price at this restaurant. I hope and pray no one else has to be treated like this again. I will drive a little further to Jason's Deli for the best salad bar in town. Full story: bit.ly/3QjpYlb

Bonus--the 2nd floor has a bar, so it's a whole experience getting up there. The food overall was really good with a few standouts. The deviled eggs were so good--definitely a must-order. My son loved his burger, and my meatloaf was solid comfort food. The mac and cheese was delicious and probably one of my favorites on the table. A few sides were a little hit or miss--the sweet potato casserole was good, the dill potato salad was just okay, and the okra was a bit over fried for my taste. Overall, it's a fun, unique spot with good food and a cool atmosphere. Worth checking out if you're in the area!

We had made arrangements with our brother, mother, and auntie to go here for lunch. They've been open just under three months now. Technically this a fusion restaurant as within these very walls is also The Scoop Shack and its owner Kyle. Leslie is the propreitor of Pecan Street Cafe. I had the #3 Hoagie with substituted sourdough bread instead of the all-white brioche bun, which consisted of a wagyu 100% beef patty topped with locally smoked and sourced all-beef brisket. A specially paired side of BBQ sauce was provided. I didn't find it necessary to use as I had ate most of the meat already before realizing the sauce was on my dish. I also had a salad with ranch dressing. For beverage I had fresh brewed coffee with half n half. Definitely will be back, would order again! My mother had #4 Burger on homemade Brioche Bun with a side of fries and for a drink Dublin Cream Soda. She said it was Delicious. My brother had the #8 Sandwich which is Sliced Ribeye Steak with sauteed onions, mushrooms, and jack cheese on a bun. We were talking about Phillies and this what they suggested from their menu. For his side he took a small salad and ranch dressing. He also enjoyed a very refreshing unsweet tea. My brother tried to describe it as good and I said use another word, he then said it was savory. My sister had the #6 Burger with sauteed onion and mushrooms, and jack cheese. She also had a side salad with Ranch, and a Sweet Tea. You can't break some people of their habits and upon pressuring my sister for an alternative to good she went with "really good". My auntie had a hamburger with no modifications, except for all the vegetables which she had delivered on the side. She enjoyed mac and cheese for her side option, and for the cold drink she went with a Diet Coke. Good is a good word but over-used so when my auntie tried to describe it as good, I asked for another word and I got scrumptous. They decorum is very clean, and I want to say "old cottage" feeling. I like it. There are plenty of icecreams, and baked good to be had and while I did not partake, my aunt bought a cheese cake for her and mom to share. I think they enjoyed as they were very chatting while consuming it. The walls of store are lined with various keto goods, and odd knick knacks all for sale that vibe with the restaurant but do not take away from it. For example Cowboy Candy caught my eye, as it was a type siracha based sugar treat of heat. Also catching my eye were the honey spoons. My mothers eye was caught on the Bob's Red Mill bread mixes.
