We had heard mixed reviews so had never ate here until a couple of months ago and finally gave them a try; we were pleasantly surprised that even during their lunch rush the service was outstanding and the food delicious. We had the 8oz sirloin special on a Wednesday with the salad and fried okra and everything was cooked to perfection. And super affordable! Even their coffee was amazing. We look forward to eating there next week when I have a drs appt down there. We live a hour and a half away and it's totally worth the drive. read more

The broccoli was, just broccoli. T had the shrimp trifecta, shrimp three ways, with some tasty onion rings and a baked sweet potato. K had the bacon wrapped fila with Mac and cheese and broccoli salad, all of which she really enjoyed. The service was quick, friendly, and the waitress refilled our drinks several times. First I'll speak to the negative review left by Brent M. on 6/10, my wife and I witnessed the entire exchange and it was a huge misunderstanding on his part. No reason to treat staff how he treated them! Hate that he felt that way, he had clearly had a long day. The staff handled things great! I came back in March 2025 with a group of ladies, a few wanting to try this business. The young lady who sat us Madeline, was nice. It did take the waitress about 10 minutes to come back with 5 waters to the table, we still had not ordered. We ordered our food and it took over 45 minutes for me to get a chopped meat patty and potato. People who arrived after us, had their food which is always agitating. I had to wait soo long that I had already requested my food to go and the bill before I ever saw my meal. My crew were in the Restruant almost 2 hours, getting basic lunch food, no big steaks and it took forever. Frankly I was not impressed, yet again. This is a great place to go if you literally have no other planes or job to return to after the meal. The goal was to allow my out of town friends to try a local Restruant with many options. Weekday lunch visit, light on customers in the dining room. Our waitress was awesome, attentive, friendly and there when we needed her. The steaks were great, cooked as ordered, and the rest of the food (baked potato, asparagus, salad, etc.) was all good and fresh. The host at the front.... well, he looked like he just drug out of bed and was as interested in being there as the saddles hanging from the rafters. This place probably served the best-tasting steaks I've ever eaten...EVER! The menu was simple yet incredible with a tasty variety of surf and turf items. Our Server, J.C., was super friendly and knowledgeable of the entire menu. He made suggestions for appetizers as well as sides which made our meal very enjoyable. Everything was amazing and the decor was very homey and warm. There was live music that wasn't too loud for the restaurant. Possibly the best steak I've had in a restaurant. A traditional Texas rancher steakhouse. The restaurant itself is decorated with saddles and horseshoes, and looks like a repurposed barn. The menu had plenty of cuts to choose from as well as seafood and chicken options (but the move is beef). I got the NY strip with broccoli salad and loaded mashed potatoes. The broccoli salad was light on the Mayo and fixings which I appreciated. The loaded mashed potatoes came with sour cream topping, which I would have opted out for. BUT THE STEAK! This place is fantastic! It opens at 5:00 & it is packed by 5:30. You can tell by the smell outside that this restaurant is legit. Bacon wrapped scallops were smokey but not at all dry. All 3 types of shrimp rocked! Ribs were just hanging on to the bone so tender & delicious & they can be served with smoked sausage. The German potatoes reminded me of my Grandmothers. The pinto beans have the perfect balance of flavors. The fried mushrooms are huge. I'm not a big steak person so you'll have to try that yourself. The ONLY reason I didn't put 5 stars is that they use purple onions in the soup & sides & they are just too overpowering. You lose the sweet flavor onions can have. I like to research YELP when seeking a restaurant that's not a chain. McBride's opened at 5pm and we arrived at 5:10pm. The parking lot was filling up which is a very good sign. We had barely been seated when Derrick, our waiter, brought warm bread and menus. He then offered to take our beverage order. Jennifer and I each ordered margaritas with Patron Silver. The drinks were perfect. We started with a full order of fried mushrooms. These were the best I'd ever had. My BFF ordered the sirloin steak, loaded baked potato, and dinner salad. You could taste the hickory. It was well seasoned and well cooked. The menu said they won't do anything above medium and they hand carve all their steaks in house. It wasn't the best steak but it was very good. The scallops were cooked perfect and I love scallops. Most of the time the only place that cooks scallops right is a Japanese hibachi grill.
