Great little stop in mall side Wichita Falls. Greeted once you enter the door and usually promptly seated. Went here on a real busy day. The place was packed from back to front. Ordered the trailblazer dish with sauteed mushrooms and corn. Was quite surprised at their expedition of getting orders out to their customers. The amount of comradery and teamwork in the place was very exceptional. Was sitting at the bar and no one's drink ever went empty. My specific order from the time I ordered it until it was in front of me was 7 minutes. And the meal was on the money. Fabulous eating environment. Place was very clean and everybody was quite friendly and helpful. Definitely going back. read more

I walked in just after 6pm on a Tuesday and the only seat left was at the bar, which was fine with me. There was live music playing in the center of the restaurant and a lot of families were enjoying their meals. I drank club soda and ordered a ribeye with German potatoes, which my server recommended. The atmosphere was great. A lot goes on at the bar so it was very entertaining. I was chatting with the people around me as if I'd known them. That's refreshing while on a business trip alone. My food came out pretty quickly. Yum. Steak was seasoned well and cooked just right, medium rare. The potatoes were delicious and reminded me of the vegetables that are often served with a Sunday roast in Germany (I actually lived there for 25 years). A restaurant does not have to be 'upscale' to receive a high rating. I did take away a star for the salad. It was just ok, pre-made and kept in the fridge until time to serve it. The romaine edges were dry, as were the carrots. The dressing was fine and I did eat the whole salad. As a matter of fact, I cleaned my plate. The guy to the left of me asked me if I was gonna post the empty plate on YELP with my review. Great idea. It turns out that the man was Ford Swanson Jr., the owner. I had no idea and I told him that. His response was, "I didn't want you to know." I guess he wanted to see if I really liked my food. Anyway, I don't even know if he looks at his YELP reviews or not but if he does, "Thanks McBride Steakhouse for treating me to a delightful evening!"
