My husband's aged over cooked birthday steak :(
Teisha V.

Came here with some friends after a event. The service was slow, but the waitress was nice. The room and dinning areas is dark. We asked to move to another table, cleaned it ourselves and had dinner. I ordered fried fish, it was crispy, but it was salty. The loaded back potato was alright, but the cheese never really cold, so never melted. I don't come here too often, but i had good conversation with some awesome ladies for dinner while we were in the restaurant.

We visit pelicans at least once every other week. The food is just that good! My favorite is the scampi, but the salmon is good too. And talk about portions! You receive bread (although I wish they'd choose another bread) with garlic and butter, a soup or salad (the gumbo is DIVINE), and your entree which usually includes a side plus you get to select a second side. It's absolutely phenomenal. Service can be a little iffy, especially when calling in for reservations, but I will chalk that up to how busy the place is. I also know it must be hard to pleasant all the time, although it is important in a customer facing business. I wish they were open on Sundays, but I'm sure they have their reasons - perhaps to give staff a day off, but I can imagine they wouldn't be just as busy that day. Inside gives off ship vibes, which I'm sure is what they're aiming for. Definitely not fine dining in terms of ambiance, but fine dining in terms of food? Absolutely Oh and GET THE CALAMARI. It is delicious when hot

Grilled Shrimp, Hawaiian Chicken, Loaded Baked Idaho Potato, Rice Pilaf

We went to Pelican's for our anniversary. We were not disappointed. The food is always delicious and it's always cooked perfectly. I had the filet with a baked potato and my wife had the Hawaiian chicken with grilled shrimp and baked potato. I wish my grilled shrimp was as delicious as theirs Highly recommend and we will definitely return

Made a reservation for Thursday evening for my birthday! Arrived a bit before the time checked in and waited about 10mims for a table to clear. The service from Gilberto was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the food and palate's and recommended some great appetizers. We tried the smoked salmon dip and fried mushrooms My dinner was flavorful and seasoned well and the beef kabobs was tender. I enjoyed my French martini and it paired well with my meal!

I came here for a work dinner on a weekday evening. The place is quaint and nice environment. The drinks were okay/standard quality. The appetizers were mid grade. We had seared ahi tuna appetizer that was worth mentioning. The entree was just okay as well. I had ribeye. It was very disappointing especially for the price point. The flavor was sub par. I tried my coworkers catfish and it was also just okay. Nothing worth coming back for. The service was great, our waitress was helpful and accommodating. She seemed like she knew a lot of the regulars there. Overall it's a great place to gather in a small town, but u probably won't be back unless it's a work funded event.

The most elite restaurant for seafood, but there's choices they give you for steak is better than Texas roadhouse fresh choice steaks.

Some reviews complain about service...makes me laugh because it's a testament to the food, cocktails, and ambiance that it's busy, but the service, in my experience, is always impeccable. It is a busy bar that is efficiently managed. The bar and restaurant are catering to an entire hotel: expect to wait a sec for a quality cocktail and a very nice meal. It's all worth it. This ain't McDonald's, y'all. Be cool. As for me, This place makes our long drive from Louisiana to Colorado something to look forward to. Tell Will and Wyatt hi from the AA Louisianians ...reluctant to post my truthful glowing review bc I don't want you to take my spot at the bar...but...CHEERS YALL

First, they were out of the lowest…read morepriced glassed wine ($8) which isn't cheap (that's the price of a decent chardonnay at a grocer - not a good first impression). Then I ordered the 10 oz. prime rib, medium rare, which comes with two sides for $35. I had the grilled asparagus and steak fries. I was surprised there was no mashed potato option. There is a baked potato, but I chose the steak fries instead. The server brought me a $13 chardonnay -- I expected it to be $8, since they were out of what I wanted and that was not my fault. The prime rib was well to well done throughout, not what I ordered. And there was at least 5 oz. of white thick fat. That said, the flavor of the meat was good, but it was chewy. The winners were the creamy horseradish and jus sides, the fried potatoes were that, fried potatoes. The winner of the meal was the grilled asparagus. It was exquisite! It was thick and perfectly cooked to still firm before being grilled. It was bedded on a sweet balsamic. I could eat an entire pound of just that asparagus and be happy! There was no bread, no salad offered. The prime rib was disappointing (medium well to well done when I ordered medium rare!) for an expensive steak place. The server, Selena, was nice and attentive, the expensive glass of chardonnay was good, and the asparagus kicked A!!!! Note that the plate was presented with an entire fat raw jalepeno pepper on top of the meat. I know the dish should not be served with anything the guest can't eat. I suggest NOT doing that. Manager/owner: I see a pattern in the reviews: you are overcooking the meat in general! That's really unforgivable for an expensive steak place. Your staff's cooking 101 should be to know how to cook to rare, medium rare, medium, well, etc. Your kitchen staff are commendable - I see them working so hard! They are dedicated, so do them justice and get them the right coaching. And please, no raw fat jalapenos. How about a modest side of fresh bread?

We waited maybe 15 minutes after we logged in. We got seated and then our bad experience started. Our server -Jaytee didn't show up at our table for almost 10 minutes. We ordered drinks and they didn't come for another 10. The restaurant was full and there was one bartender making drinks!! Finally got our drinks and the server would disappear. We ordered our food and I ordered the Road Kill (Medium) - no mushrooms, mashed potatoes and a cup of chili. I did ask for brown gravy for the meat and potatoes. I also asked for the chili to come out hot because my experience has been it comes out lukewarm warm at best, every time. So the results: - My chili was like warm again. Had to send it back. - My meat and potatoes came out without gravy. Had to ask for it again. - My meat was over cooked. Hard as a shingle. - Our friends had a Critter Salad she said was good. Her husband had a ribeye with steak fries. He never got his fries until he was almost done with his meal. He asked about them twice. I have this place two stars but that is generous. We probably will not be back.
