I hate myself for saying this, but, yes. I fancy a bloody Snog.
I was conducting some business today at Westfield (i.e., not having a job and bumming around the mall) and hadn't yet eaten lunch. I couldn't be bothered to wait in one of the long queues at all of the lunch-type places in Westfield's food court, and there Snog was, a mod white-and-fluorescent beacon all alone. No customers were at the counter at the time, so I wandered on over. I sampled the plain flavour, and it was appealing enough. I liked how the employee told me about its preparation, and I dig anything that's sweetened with agave nectar.
The £3.55 price tag for a small with one topping seemed a bit steep to me, but I soon realised that the 'little' was actually quite large in comparison to other London fro-yo establishments. I thought, 'Surely they're going to be stingy on the topping', but my assumption was completely unfounded. The employee scooped and scooped and scooped (and scooped and scooped... seriously, five scoops) chocolate chips on top of my yoghurt. I had more chocolate chips than I knew what to do with. Every bite was a chocolate-chip explosion. Also, I would never have been able to have finished that 'small' Snog if I had eaten lunch; that's how big it was.
The yoghurt itself was just a little tart and not too sweet. I would say that Snog has struck a good balance between straight-up plain in-your-face-healthy frozen yoghurt and the more ice-cream-inspired (and therefore not as healthy) fro-yo. But, apparently, it's still every bit as healthy as the more tart and less sweet varieties. If I had to object to anything about it, I would say that it was a bit whippy and had a few air bubbles, but this is just splitting hairs; it was excellent.
Why haven't I given it five stars, then?
Because I can't with good conscience whole-heartedly endorse a company that has so plagued Yelp with its spurious self-endorsement and blatant defamation of its competitors.
Yeah, I'm talking to you, Snog business owner(s). I love your product. I'd say it's better than the other fro-yo I've tasted in London. But please let your product speak for itself and stop posting fake Yelp reviews. read more
