The first time I tried to come here, it was around 4:15p, and they had closed at 4p. Second time, I wanted to come by for a drink, but someone didn't show up on time. Since they were open though, I browsed the shop which had some cool local items. Normally I'm not too into jewelry at gift shops but they actually had some really pretty earrings by the register. I had narrowed it down to three pairs, then finally chose a winner. These have been on my ears daily. Third times the charm, as the final day I came, the shop AND coffee counter was open! While waiting, I wandered around the wall of history and the audio that went along with it in the back area. This is actually a fascinating space, and if you have time to, check it out. Note: There is a Tribal LPT fee/tax that is added to your purchase within this building, regardless if it's at the cafe or shop.

What an absolutely adorable gift store in Snoqualmie. Multiple types of gifts to choose from. From wine, champagne, sauces, cards, gift items and more. I do think that there is a lot of value in this place. The different items available to purchase varied in price. I didn't look at the prices of the Christmas decorations but they were so cute and I think I might go back for the holidays and purchase some. Plenty of parking in the area. Come here and see for yourself! As always, SYOY.

The gift shop at the Salish Lodge & Spa is a destination unto itself. Of particular interest to me…read morewas the availability of the Salish honey for purchase, the very same organic honey that is produced by the apiary on the Salish grounds for their restaurants and honey-based spa treatments. If you know anything about the plight of honeybees and the fraud in the honey distribution business, you'll appreciate that the folks at Salish Lodge have tripled their original number of hives, planted wildflowers and berry plants that not only help sustain the bees but also are used in creating the Lodge's special jams, and plan to continue maintaining the apiary as a protected habitat for the bees. I purchased some honey (real 100% honey!) to bring home, and a tin of honey vanilla black tea that smells just heavenly. If you're into it, they also have Honey Ale and honey-flavored vodka, and chocolates made with their honey. While I've been going on and on about honey, The Country Store has much more. You'll find gifts and arts and crafts for everyone on your list here. I recommend stopping in even if you're not staying at the Lodge.

WHAT'S UP, BIRCHES?!…read more This surprisingly spacious boutique specializing in home décor, apparel and accessories, like the Tardis, is much bigger on the inside than it appears. Unfortunately, the prices are also larger than other, similar shops in the area (Carousel in Snoqualmie, for example). There's more stock here, as a result of its size, and it's collection is arguably better curated and more stylish than most, depending on your taste. It's the kind of place my wife and I would love to shop, if things were a bit more affordable, but YMMV. Still, Birches Habitat is definitely worth checking out for the style-conscious consumer, and absolutely the best boutique in North Bend! You may find better deals at the outlet mall, but you're not likely to find anything as swanky!

We're Hispanic and definitely got the vibe that one of the staff members was nervous we were going to steal something! The woman asked if my husband needed help 4x in the span of 20 minutes. He stepped outside to get reception and when he returned, she says "back again, I see". He met up with me towards the back wanting to leave and then she came up to ask if she could hold our items up at the front, I guess because she thought we were in cahoots. The whole thing is extra hilarious because we could easily afford to buy the entire store 4x over. My one regret is that my husband didn't share his experience beforehand so that I wouldn't have given them my money. Lesson learned.

Every time I go in, there's always something new and interesting. And, invariably, there's at least one "I gotta have that." The owner, Shelly, is a jewel as well. She's funny and engaging. She clearly loves what she does and has unquestionable knack for selecting the right merchandise and presenting it well. She has an excellent eye for the unique without going over the top into 'weird'. I think she's as much curator as she is proprietor. I also appreciate the fact that much of merchandise comes from local & domestic artists and other small businesses. Even the stuff that is made overseas comes through small suppliers rather than the big distribution channels that bring in the same old stuff. If you've driven or walked by without stopping in, do yourself a favor and check it out. It won't cost a dime. Well, until you see that "I gotta have that" thing. But don't worry, she'll go easy on you.
