He took the time to go over the work with us and made sure everything was handled properly. The crew worked efficiently, took good care around the property, and cleaned up well afterward. I also appreciated that Victor pointed out some concerns with a couple of our trees that may need further attention instead of simply trimming them and moving on. Overall, we had a very good experience with Victor and his team and would definitely recommend Family Tree Service for tree trimming and tree care.

On the other hand Victor was super easy to work with, and was available next day. You don't feel like he's trying to rip you off as many of the tree trimmers I had come over gave outrageous numbers.

Cesar is the real deal…read more What started as a straightforward quick fix turned into a 3+ odyssey into why my drip irrigation wasn't working. Cesar and his team managed to find and fix everything wrong with the system: - Rewired my entire Rachio controller. The original installers had left behind what can only be described as a rat's nest of wiring. Caesar sorted it into something clean and actually traceable. - Replaced a failing valve that had been quietly wasting water, sputtering instead of shutting off properly. - Ran an entirely new line under the house to restore power to the back valve, since the old wire was not only broken but buried three feet down under turf and tarp aka basically unreachable for any future repair. He's a genuine jack of all trades and what impressed me most was that he didn't stop at the easy fix. He treated the whole system like it needed to actually work long-term vs. limping along until the next breakdown. Thanks to his work, if anything goes wrong down the line, it'll actually be possible to find and fix it - which, after seeing how the system was originally installed, feels like a minor miracle. Highly recommend Caesar for anyone whose irrigation system was "installed" rather than engineered. Worth every minute of that 3-hour odyssey.

My wife and I recently chose Joel to complete a long overdue landscaping project for our front and…read moreback yard and we are beyond happy with the result. Our project consisted of pouring 2 concrete slabs (1 along the side of the house and a second in the backyard), planting a boarder trim, and installing sprinkler systems in our back and front yard. Joel and crew completed all parts of this project with attention to detail and communicated effectively throughout. First and foremost, I have to give a huge shout out to the team lead managing the concrete part of our project. His attention to detail in recommending ideal drain setups in the sections where water had pooled in the past are exactly why we went Joel - we want to do things right the first time. After chatting with Joel, we installed the recommended drains, preventing a potentially expensive fix down the road. The rest of the project was completed with professionalism and Joel was great in communicating and working with our needs. Our one constructive feedback is that we did not receive a mock-up of the project before work was underway. We had a few last minute changes (the width of the trim around the backyard and the size of the mulch area in the front yard), but Joel & team communicated effectively and worked with us to make sure our needs were taken care of. All in all, we are so happy with our completed project. The level of professionalism, attention to detail, and our new back/front yard makes us confident that we made the correct choice in choosing Joel for our project. Thank you!

BRING ON THE SUPER EL NINO!…read more Joel and Sons recently completed a much overdue project at our home. For years, our outside drains were clogged, and I found myself setting up pumps during the storms to get the pools of water away from our home. Every year, I would tell myself that I would get the drains cleared. Before the rains came this past winter, I hired a company to hydro jet the pipes. They tried to clear the drains, but because they were so clogged, their equipment failed. Again, I was setting up the pumps during the rain storm. So, I researched and found Joel and Sons. I met Joel and he examined our front/back yards. He gave an excellent and fair estimate that would fix the drainage problems. Throughought the entire project, Joel sent videos of the work being performed. He and the crew went above and beyond to make sure we wouldn't have any future issues. I am so impressed by Joel and Sons, and I will call them again for future projects. More importantly, I will make referrals to my family and friends.

On a project of this scale, finding a contractor you can genuinely trust to deliver top-tier build quality without cutting corners is rare, but Edgar and his team delivered on every front. They managed to execute the job efficiently and move fast without ever making the work feel rushed. Edgar approaches every aspect of the build with a true "measure twice, cut once" mentality, ensuring every detail was carefully thought out well before the concrete was poured. What truly sets Edgar apart from other contractors is his transparency and client-first mindset. Rather than making unilateral calls or pushing options that benefit his own bottom line, he presented every decision with clear options and thoughtful pros and cons. He never nickel-and-dimed small adjustments or weaponized formal change orders just to inflate the bill. Additionally, his crew was exceptionally professional, courteous, and respectful. As a landlord managing a property with tenants on-site, this was invaluable. While many contractors disregard tenants because they aren't the paying client, Edgar's crew treated everyone on the property with complete respect and care. Platinum Paving offers remarkably competitive pricing, but more importantly, the value and quality of their craftsmanship far exceed the rate they charge. If you have a large-scale project, especially on a rental or multi-unit property, do yourself a favor and get a quote from Platinum Paving before making a final decision. I highly recommend them!

From the beginning, he made us feel comfortable and confident, and we never felt the need to look elsewhere. Edgar was professional, consistent, patient, and extremely knowledgeable throughout the entire process. This was a big investment for us, and he took the time to answer questions, work within our budget, offer alternatives, and give thoughtful recommendations when we were unsure about certain decisions. His communication and customer service were excellent from start to finish. His crew was also wonderful to work with, respectful, hardworking, professional, and genuinely nice people. We truly enjoyed having them around during the project. Most importantly, the quality of the work exceeded our expectations. We are so happy with the final result and highly recommend Edgar and his team to anyone looking for backyard renovations. He clearly knows what he's doing and runs a great business. All the positive reviews are absolutely deserved.
