I repeatedly messaged them asking to look at my message and they said they would "hook me up". Apparently they looked at my message 3 weeks later and they decided to block me because they knew they make a mistake and didn't want to own up. Actually thinking about it this whole store is trying to rip you off. I buy "mystery packs" from them and they put on "good card" on top and the rest are duplicates or garbage. Maybe donate them to a school or a children's hospital. Do better

I had a strange experience at the Hot Corner. An older guy and 2 younger guys were working and one…read moreof them was pretty responsive to questions about selling cards and buying specific cards. The younger guy asked the older guy about where to find these cards. He told the younger guy, then nothing happened. I stood around for 15 minutes and left when it was clear none of them were interested in my business. They have a ton of very cool autographed bats, balls and other memorabilia that seem to be priced really fairly. This would probably be my first stop if I was looking for a specific players autograph. There aren't a lot of card shops to consider these days, but I will not likely revisit these guys. It seems the bust in card value has hurt the morale as much as the actual business. Coming here felt like a giant waste of time, despite trying to go local instead of online.

It's such a fun setup. I will say don't expect to get anything near retail price on packs -- you're obviously paying market price here -- but if you have some money to spend and just want to test your luck, this is such a fun place to do it. I also bought a promo Snorlax card and they sold it to me literally at market price, so I was super happy about that too. No crazy markup! The staff is super nice as well. The guy who helped me out even recommended a few packs, and I ended up pulling an SIR Squirtle out of Scarlet and Violet! I think it's one of the top chase cards, so I left the store on such a high. Highly recommend if you're into Pokémon at all!

Select the packs you want and they'll get you those packs. What is pretty cool too is they give you a few sleeves and top loaders incase you get any hits, which we didn't. Some of the packs are kind of decently priced, but the thing that sucks for me is that the packs were priced pretty higher than market price. If the prices were a little cheaper then I feel like it would make this place a little more enjoyable. If you're expecting to rip some of the newer stuff, you can get a decent deal but anything older is way more expensive. Overall this was fun to come to as this aesthetic isn't something you come across too often. Definitely worth a trip even if you don't plan to buy anything. But I'm pretty sure you'll buy a pack or two.

New York Comics has just opened their doors in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and it's just what this section…read moreof the neighborhood needed. Truth be told there are not many comics and collectible shops in Bay Ridge so a brand-new one is a welcome addition. They're located off of the main avenue thoroughfare on 79th and while the store itself is small, they are very well-stocked. As you walk in you see plenty of different lines of action figures and both recent and older back issue boxes of comic books from numerous companies. They also have some racks of cars, and higher priced books and slabbed editions are up on higher shelves. As it was opening day, there was candy everywhere to give you a sugar rush. They also had a wheel that you could spin with every purchase and there were some truly amazing prizes to be had. On the wheel I saw discounts on next purchase, back issues from assorted boxes and more. My purchase was a "Marvel Legends" action figure that I had been looking for and when I got to spin the wheel I won a slabbed "Batman" Annual #2. Oh yeah and for those who don't know the term, a "slabbed" edition means that the comic is in a sealed and graded plastic container and no longer readable. Having never owned one before I thought this was rather cool. My visit was shortly after lunch so it was rather crowded based on their doing opening day stuff and I was happy to see this being the case since I've known one of the owners for a couple of years. They are not even two minutes away from Skinflints which is another favorite of mine and if you're heading there you can pop into New York Comics afterwards. It's important to know that there are no new comics being sold at the store at this time but who knows if they change that practice at some point going forward. They wouldn't need to stock everything but with the recent relaunch of "Batman" selling a half million copies that's not a bad idea. I know I'll be popping in from time to time to see what's new and exciting and I hope that they will begin stocking some of the collected editions as well since I like those every once in awhile. Wishing New York Comics a thriving future. Get your geek on my friends.

I came here with my daughter and we ended up buying Barbie stickers so I was really happy that they were in stock. Service was really friendly! It was rainy when I came in and they helped me with my stroller. I would definitely recommend peruse through their comic books selection. They even had a manga section with really funny tidbits about what the manga was about.
