DO NOT BUY! I bought a Paul Skenes rookie card in a mag case and it came damaged. I bought from whatnot. I've spend hundreds on their streams. I repeatedly messaged them asking to look at my message and they said they would "hook me up". Apparently they looked at my message 3 weeks later and they decided to block me because they knew they make a mistake and didn't want to own up. Actually thinking about it this whole store is trying to rip you off. I buy "mystery packs" from them and they put on "good card" on top and the rest are duplicates or garbage. Maybe donate them to a school or a children's hospital. Do better read more

I had a strange experience at the Hot Corner. An older guy and 2 younger guys were working and one of them was pretty responsive to questions about selling cards and buying specific cards. The younger guy asked the older guy about where to find these cards. He told the younger guy, then nothing happened. I stood around for 15 minutes and left when it was clear none of them were interested in my business. They have a ton of very cool autographed bats, balls and other memorabilia that seem to be priced really fairly. This would probably be my first stop if I was looking for a specific players autograph. There aren't a lot of card shops to consider these days, but I will not likely revisit these guys. It seems the bust in card value has hurt the morale as much as the actual business. Coming here felt like a giant waste of time, despite trying to go local instead of online. read more

Went in to check out their comics for sale and came away unimpressed with their overall service due to owner trying to be a know it all, where in fact, hes out of his league in that particular genre. The other workers were helpful. read more

I've been coming here for years and have probably spent over $10,000 in this store since my teens and I have to say I was pretty disappointed with the owner, Matt's attitude the other night when I came in. I came in asking for a few hobby boxes of some of the newer products he has on his shelf. As I was planning to buy a larger quantity; (4-6 boxes depending on the product) I asked him if there was anything he could do on the price. He then goes on to tell me; "not just is there nothing he could do on the price, but he can only guarantee that price for 1 box, and the next box might be more". He literally had me dumbfounded there standing in his store when he said that. He then proceeded to tell me that he's been there for 28 years and has never lowered his prices from what's on the shelf (he's done it for me numerous times in the past) and some other nonsense after that which I had already tuned out by that point. Every other LCS I've ever been in has done a deal for multiple boxes if I've asked in the past. I literally asked if I could give him $1,000 in cash, right then for 4 boxes he had marked at $270 or so on shelf and he said no way, he paid almost $200 each for them. I guess making $200+ or a 25%+ margin isn't enough for him? He also told me I could save time and just go on blowoutcards.com because he will have the same prices they do. Oh yea, and then I asked about another box he had on the shelf which he said he thought was $62, but then he said "let me check" and went on his computer to tell me blowout had it at $69, so that would be his price. Within 2 days of me leaving his store I have since purchased every single box I tried to get from him (and more) for 25-30% lower than I was willing to spend in his store that day, meaning he surely could have cut a deal if he'd liked. Unfortunately, he's the only store in the area, so I won't say I'll never come back, but if possible I would just take the 30 minute trip to Queens and deal with the much friendlier owner at Royal Sports & Entertainment who in my limited experiences has either cut a deal or been honest and candid about not being able to do so. read more

Came in yesterday to the store for the second time to sell some of my cards. Couldn't have had a more positive experience. I dealt with the same guy both times who actually let me come into the store a bit early because I was in the area. He gave me very fair prices and was super nice to deal with. One of the last card shops still alive in Brooklyn! They do a good job these days of selling boxes and packs at fair market value. They mostly compare prices on eBay and go from there, which is better than the markups they used to have. They could get you anything you want for a price, but mostly have boxes of the 4 major sports from the past few years. They also have a nice selection of bobbleheads and autographed memorabilia, especially of local heroes from the past. I love making an occasional visit to the Hot Corner to hold on to that last drop of youth that was obsessed with collecting cards. I don't see the owner Matt there too often these days, but the kids who he has working there seem capable ans fair so it really doesn't matter. Bring cash and they won't charge tax... read more

there just aren't that many card shops around anymore, so going to this place is like going back into a time machine. they sell the latest and greatest packs and boxes. However, they don't have extensive cards of specific players per se, eg, I am looking for cards of Stephen Curry or want to build a collection of the current Yankees team. What they have on display is what they have, which feature a nice selection of autograph, insert, and relic cards. Friendly customer service. A cool place to reminisce and enjoy card collecting. I guess the other reason is that you want to avoid pack searchers at retail stories :) Only negative is that it is not the most accessible place as it is located in a residential neighborhood. The local bus (Q44) will get you there in any event. read more

The last card store in Brooklyn WOW! They have a great selection of jersey and bat cards as well as old cards from the 1960s and earlier. Store has recently been renovated and has a great selection of autographed memorabilia from Steiner, upper deck, JSA and PSA. read more

If you have questions related to sports cards, this is the place to go. Prices are competitive for packs and boxes. They don't have a warehouse full of boxes and cases though, its just your typical hobby shop, one of the last few real ones remaining in Brooklyn. Let me tell you about Mat, owner of Hot Corner, and what a Christmas jerk he is since I think it shows his true character. Mat purchased a $12 Jim Morrison poster from me on ebay a few weeks ago that he was going to resell in his shop for much more. It was a 1969 used poster that had some slight damage. A mistake was made during shipping, two labels were swapped and the wrong poster was sent to him. I got contacted by the frantic customer who received his poster, and not the one she had purchased for a Christmas present for her son. I tried to reassure her and immediately contacted Mat to let him know that the wrong poster was coming to him. He agreed to forward the package on to the correct owner if I would send him the $7 postage, I sent him $10 for good measure. I also reassured Mat that I had the same Jim Morrison poster in Mint condition, that he had purchased. I had this more expensive version listed for $25 and pulled it off to give to Mat. I also thanked him profusely and told him that I was going to include some extra goodies (vintage posters for him to resell) since he was helping me out. 5 days go by. I contact Mat to check on the status of the reshipment I paid him for. He then proclaimed that he goes to the post office twice a day, but is not going to mail the package to the rightful owner until he receives the others posters I promised. Essentially, holding this poor woman's Christmas present hostage. Now mind you, it is the first week in December, holiday mail has started and I would have to pay $40 to ship the package Express so that he would get before weeks end, that way he could forward the wrong package he had on to the correct owner. Easily making it a 15 day, expensive process for this woman to receive her Christmas present. Not to mention, ebay (just like Amazon, Etsy, etc) requires the buyer to return the wrong item before the correct item or refund is given. Well Mat refused and has now ruined a few different Christmas'. He now has a $100 autographed My Chemical Romance poster that he paid less than $10 for (since I already refunded $10 of his purchase so he could use to ship the poster) so keep your eye out. You are probably purchasing someone else's Christmas gift at his store this holiday season. Total jerk! read more

Matt was very kind and patient with my family. He made our shopping experience at the store fun. He is very knowledgeable about sports and takes his time to discuss his merchandise with you. He helped us tremendously with questions in regards to baseball cards. This is the store to go to for sports memorabilia and collectibles. Highly recommended the store.
