This is one of the small-format Targets that have been popping up all over NYC, so selection is more limited. I don't really browse at these smaller stores, but instead check the inventory online first and then go there to get specific things, which helps manage expectations. We came here because, despite the smaller size, they were the only one in South Brooklyn that had all of the school supplies we were looking for. We were able to order almost everything online in advance, and order pickup was straightforward. For the one item that was too limited in inventory to be available for pickup, I was never able to find it in the store, and searching for it was a bit frustrating, which is how I usually feel just "shopping" at the small-format stores (and why I stopped). The store is two floors with entrances on both 13th and 14th. No parking though, and not an easy area to find street parking. Employees were fine, even if not the most friendly. Not a lot of mask wearing here, unlike some other stores. I think if we return here, it will just be for order pickup. read more

I placed a pick up order today and because only one cashier was serving at a time and nobody was serving on the other end where usually pick up orders are checked I went ahead and bought a couple of items instead of waiting somebody to come, while paying for the items I bought in-store I saw that 3 people gathered on the other end and I approached them saying that I was here before but nobody came,one of the ladies distrespectfully pointed 4 fingers at me asking which line I waited and I responded that initially I was there but didn't stay as I didn't see anybody. I decided to take a new turn however when finally target team female representative came instead of paying attention to me she started taking care of another customer who came right after I took a new turn on a new line. I expressed my disappointment and called target phone number, feeling that it was too much, I had nothing to do with customers, It was about that there was only one target team representative there as a cashier... Female team member called another team member whose name was Mr Nelson.Mr Nelson instead of looking into my order accused me saying that I pointed at the customer which was "disrespectful", instead of acknowledging that I pointed at the customer showing that this young customer came after me and while I was ahead of him he was served first , I didn't know his name. Instead Mr Nelson, target team member told me that I should wait 2 hours after I placed order online, he didn't look at my order to see that it was already over 2 hours since order was placed online. instead immediately chose to reject me, accusing me in disrespecting somebody else who went ahead of me. I felt extremely disrespected because It was my turn. He ping ponged me to Mr Jeffrey who found out that my order was not ready because items were out of stock and he offered me to buy alternative( 6 bottles in a pack , price of which was more than 12 bottles on my order which cost me more , I bought 2 ) , but I needed, so I bought. This Target location is by far the worst! They have poor customer service and pick up is always a nightmare! The one slim cashier who wears glasses and Hispanic boy with stink breath annoys me. They never want to do pick up properly. There was no one at pick up and I had to scream for someone to help me after waiting for 15 minutes while the cashiers looked at me. In fact I did pick up 2 days ago and the little girl had the nerve to tell me to come over to her so she can scan my bar code and then proceeds to throw my groceries in my cart including throwing my eggs! Little girl you're lucky my patience is top tier. Corporate will hear about this! I've had enough of letting all these passive aggressive behaviors slide! I will not tolerate being treated like a random customer and not a valued one of over 5 years of shopping here. Do your job or leave if you don't like it! read more

The workers in the checkout area seem both confused and somewhere between rude and only barely civil. They need some mix of better hires, training, and working conditions to fix it. Today this location did not have a single human being working to ring up purchases. Even if a store prefers to encourage self-scan purchases, it also needs to provide an option to pay with a worker - and continue to provide at least some of those jobs. read more

This is a smaller target. It has all the basics and some produce. It has whatever I usually need! This is a busy store because of its location. I do like it because it's convenient and it's smaller so I don't need to browse through whole store to find the 1 thing I needed. The self checkout usually moves very fast too. Why do people even shop at Target? There is literally not one single item I've ever purchased at this over priced, zero customer service, all about cost cutting chain. Cashiers have been replaced by self check out stations. No deals for anything at anytime whatsoever--no idea why people overpay for something that can be found cheaper on the next block. This huge store has been open at this location for a year, and not once did I have a pleasant experience here. The two staff members wondering the floor are grim, menacing, and unwelcoming. Every time I've asked for assistance, I've received curt responses without even a glance. I've cringed witnessing other customers interacting with staff, who look and sound bored and pissed with the crappy lot that destiny have dealt them by providing Target employment. Customer service training is definitely not a priority at this location. Hence, why this store is usually nearly devoid of customers. Never supporting this business that does not take customer satisfaction seriously. read more

I discovered this store recently after I made a purchase at the Marshall's store next door. This Target, like others, is very clean and very neat. I was in need of two items and I found both. Target store's stock Papyrus greeting cards and I found the particular card that I wanted. I like Godiva chocolates, and I found several types that I like. Target's prices are fair, but not as fair as Marshall's. I paid at the self checkout and I purchased a Target tote bag for a Nickel. Target tote bag's are stylish and very durable. read more

I love Target. I was super excited when they opened this location but, honestly, they shouldn't have bothered. The location lacks inventory, friendly people, and has a wonky layout. Upon entry, there are two escalators which don't have a certain area to load carts. If you want to bring your cart, you will need to use the elevator. Also, make sure to bring a basket because there is absolutely nowhere to get one upstairs. Instead, you have to carry all your items downstairs. A few times, I tried getting someone to help instead of asking, "how can they assist", they were standoffish. One person tried running me over with a cart instead of just saying "Excuse me". Good luck finding anyone to actually help with finding an item. Which brings me to inventory, I get that this a smaller location but, the shelves are barely stock or in order. Upon checking out, they have a four self-checkout but, no one actually on the registers. Which, I guess is fine but, when I had an issue with the bar code, I requested "help" and no one came for more than 15 minutes. I was eventually able to get the issue sorted but, it would have been nice if someone was actually there to help. I always enjoyed going to Target but, this experience definitely fell short. read more

Good luck getting any product that's behind a locked shelf. No one ever comes. If someone does, then you're forced to communicate with them when you only want to shop in peace. I used to buy stuff at this Target but I stopped because I'm tired of waiting for an employee to open the locked shelf. Also, you can't read the product ingredients, instructions or anything else for the locked items so you better prepare and check on your phone using their unsecured, spotty WiFi connection. You have to note that this is one of the smallest target stores in you can't judge it as if it's 1 of the larger locations. But what they do have is fairly decent. They have a sizeable Starbucks in the front and miniature versions of every department throughout the two-story space. The few employees we interacted with seem nice enough, focused on making sure their work was done. Everyone wore masks and Were mindful about social distancing. We had in order to pick up and it didn't take a long time to do so. I'm sure we'll check it out again in the future. read more

I wish I could respond to some of the people making stupid reviews on here. Yes I'm looking at you! The store is fine, its a nice mix of everything. A jack of all trades but not a master of one. Its set up with more self service machines, than cashiers with assistance. So expecting more than that is kind of lazy. There have been really nice workers here, and a few with an attitude but no worse than any retail store out there. Most of all its the many options you have here, and a great return policy. I live right across from Target. We buy something there almost every day, although the choice of products and goods is very limited. But I would like to write about the service in this store. Yesterday I bought $ 28.94 worth of groceries and wanted to pay with a gift card. But I did something wrong instead of paying with this card, I got it in purchases. As a result, the amount was $ 53.94. Then I called a worker for help. When she came up and did something, the amount still remained the same: $ 53.94. I told her that there should be $ 28.94 left, and after I use my gift card I will have to pay $ 3.94. And then she started yelling at me, repeating that I have to pay $ 53.94.I suggested that she cancel all my purchases and recount again. But she continues to yell with bulging eyes that she will not do this. Then I said that I want to talk to the manager. She went and came back with security guard.Explaining the situation took a very long time, as she screamed all the time and interrupted me, not letting me calmly describe the problem. She fought with such anger and hatred, as if I were her personal enemy. Then the security guard told her to leave us.He spoke to me like a madman too. But then We finally solve my problem is. Of course, I understand that the salaries in the store are not high, but it's impossible to hire just anyone who doesn't even have human communication skills. read more

I love target, when this store first opened I was so excited. It has turned out to be a huge disappointment. My main issue that I have consistently had is being forced to use the self checkout, as time had progressed this location has gone from having a few registers open to non. There is absolutely no sense of customer service they bark orders at customers like they are herding cattle to the self check out. I personally prefer not to use self service as it encourages employers to hire fewer workers, which is clearly evident at this location. Not only had the customer service dwindled here, but they have stopped offering some of the most attractive service originally available such as home delivery. I'm sad to say I no longer have the same regard in target I once did. read more

I was so excited to get a Target where I normally shop and I nearly cried when I walked through the first time 2 weeks ago. Not out of joy, but out of pure disappointment. You know that sinking feeling you get after anticipating something good for a long time? Or the time you sank your teeth into something and it tasted totally different than what it looked like? I came here this afternoon to buy a product that was locked up in the health and beauty department. I looked around to see if there was a sales associate available. I noticed a person with a walkie talkie clipped to her hip. She was probably one of the floor supervisors. She looked the other way and totally ignored me. She doesn't act like a supervisor to me. However I saw a young man opening up boxes in the next aisle. He was nice enough to open up the glass case for me. At least I didn't have to wait long. The Target is smaller than others and never has any good sales. The self checkout is the only checkout and the line is always long, so be forewarned! The Starbucks at this Target is an atrocity. There are flies EVERYWHERE (I literally had to examine my drink before I left) and the baristas look like they would rather be getting a root canal. I have had countless horrible service from multiple people in this section. They either jump down your throat OR greet you as if they are not working in a professional setting. The tea is not brewed correctly and they always give less beverage than they should. They also never quite understand what you are ordering and it makes me, as a customer, question myself. "Did I ask for a strange beverage?" No its a simple lack of human to human relations and common sense. Time to take my business elsewhere. read more

The newly opened Target location is a little smaller than I expected, but it's bright and clean and well-stocked in terms of groceries and home goods. There are self-checkout registers available near both entrances which come in handy because the checkout line is always slow. I'm not complaining though because lines at TJ Maxx one block over genuinely move at a glacial pace. read more

I wish I can give this Target no stars... this is the second time I came here and the second time I had a horrible experience. This time was with like three of the employees... EMPLOYEES! People who are supposed to be nice and helpful. Their main elevator was down and I had my baby and stroller with me, I was with my mother as well (who was pushing the stroller for me). Two of the employees came over and said "elevator is down follow me" (mind you a few of us were there) so my mom said "oh is there another elevator for us because I have a stroller" .. the woman rudely responding "yes, follow me" (rolled her eyes) but my mom didn't see it.. I did but she did it when she turned (not knowing I'm her daughter)... ok so we follow... as if they were annoyed with us that the elevator was down... then we get on the elevator with two people (one being a MANAGER) one person got off at one elevator and then the manager got off another floor (looked like the garage of the store) so one of the other people got off the elevator and said "is this where we go" and the MANAGER rudely responded "yes I said follow me" but no she didn't, not when she got off the elevator & either way WHY ARE YOU BEING RUDE.... The other lady had her baby and a stroller and is pregnant... When my mom went to the front she asked for the manager (that's when we realized one of these rude woman is a manager) so she came down RUDE like "May I help you" and my mom was like "yeah you can not be rude" and just the whole energy and everything was just not right.. I'm a customer.. leave your shit at the door when you get to work don't bring your negative energy to work.. my mother and I were just trying to have a nice day out together and these people were just so unwelcoming.. then the worker behind the counter (that my mom asked "can I speak to a manager") like patted her on the back like having her back... but like why? I just came from target and it was unbelievable confusing for me. They displayed salads that had false expiration dates. As well as i waited for a supervisor "Josh" more than i should have. The store is full of workers some floating around, how is it that no supervisor is available? Or only have one within the store out of 10-15 ppl. That's crazy. Due to me starving and just wanting to eat i still would have purchased one only at a reasonable price. Why am i paying full price if something isn't timely fresh? If something expires in 3 days why was there more brown than the one that actually did expire? The ending result instead of making a smart business offer i was told my a guy in the market area that they will just throw it away. So i waited all that time, and continued to starve, due to foolishness. You guys need to look at your things before placing them no reason for it to be two expiration dates on an item and then instead of using common sense and trying to let a customer leave at least satisfied, "just don't buy" and "we are going to throw it away". Do better customer service because the one on Flatbush junction is way better. read more

It is a dream come true for every soccer mom that a Target opens up in this what will soon to be a commercial neighborhood. Well, I'm not a mother but I remember a few years ago, Kings Highway was more of a residential area. With the opening of Modell, TJ Maxx and now Target, there is a great shift but that will be a whole another review in itself. Back to Target. My first impression: I would have to honestly say that this Target has way less selection than the one in Atlantic Avenue. I understand that this Target is much smaller but it has a less variety than Rite Aid which is a only few blocks down and Rite Aid is only a fraction of the size of Target. It's nice that Target is well-lit and spacious but they could've filled the empty space with more food items, clothing etc. to enhance the shopping experience. The clothing selection is the biggest disappointment. Only a few racks of clothes to choose from and they really should get rid of the electronics isle. These days very few people buy video games or electronics in a store as it is the internet era. They do have a Starbucks on the first floor for those who care. My greatest disappointment about Target is not the lack of selection but the lack of discounts. It's not a good sign when pharmacies have better deals than a big store such as Target. As for the positive things I noticed: The lines are short and there are self check out machines. The store is very clean and spacious as I said before. It's well-organized. I have hopes for this store. I hope things will improve with time and they can provide more items to customers. read more

I really want to like this Target but there is absolutely no reason to. Nothing is ever in stock from baby bottles, to shampoo, to even half & half. The shelves are constantly empty no matter which day and time you go. Even the smaller 1 level Bensonhurst Target has more things in stock. Your staff member in Electronics at the Midwood location around 1:30pm on Saturday, April 18th is rude and lacks any sort of customer service experience. He basically shooed me off the phone when he denied having anything in stock and hung up on me after I asked him a follow up question. The same man was also in the store yesterday when I came in, he cut off a fellow team member when I asked her (previous to checking store inventory) if they had the product I was looking for in stock and told me to call ahead of time. The same man also gave some wicked attitude to a customer before me when he asked if he worked there. Saw the other guys face when he walked away, could tell that conversation went just as well as mine did today. Why tell me to call after interjecting on a conversation that wasn't your own and then hang up on me after I ask you about your instructions the day before? This leads me to believe that you're either unhappy with your job and just want to make your coworkers and customers miserable, or you're withholding product. I also work in retail, I know how inventory works. Real nice. read more

New addition to the neighborhood serves its purpose. This store is smaller in size compared to other Target stores but you can get your basic essential items. Also a nice grocery store upstairs as this is a 2 level store which also includes self-check out. Store never too crowded and there is a Starbucks as soon as you walk in. So you can sip your coffee and shop. Go visit. read more

An employee said excuse me and then bumped passed me so hard (I'm pregnant) I talked to the manager Jon who basically said well did she say excuse me and I said yes and then proceeded to push past me. I've had to come to this store about 3 times and EVERY SINGLE TIME a supervisor will stop me (I'm a Muslim in a very distinctive niqab ) and get an attitude about how "we aren't sure if your wearing a mask under that headgear you wear". I videoed it the last time she did it. My daughter cried the first time and asked the supervisor why she was making fun of her mommy. The supervisor rolled her eyes at her and told me I'm lucky she doesn't call ICE to come get me. read more

I frequent this Target quite often. I arrived at 9:49pm to be told by the LP agent on duty that the second floor was closed. I explained to the agent that I needed Milk, OJ, and a piece of fruit for my 3 and 11 year old. I was told that there's nothing he or anyone Target could do to help me. I ran up an escalator to get to the second level, as there were customers walking around and coming down from the second floor. I was then followed by the LP agent and told not to come back here. I explained to the agent that I needed 3 items for the evening and the next morning, and that I spend approximately $700 a month at this Midwood location, which is true and not exaggerated. He told me I don't care in a high pitched voice, and then told me you'll see, I'll void your transaction. This is a byproduct of hiring 20 year old agents with minimal work experience, on a power trip. Instead of having someone assist me, I was threatened and told not to come back here. I purchased my items and then left the store, to be followed to the registers at 9:52pm. I was done with my transaction at this time, and then mentioned to the agent, who stood 20 feet behind me, that he's not a bad person, but is on a power trip, and doesn't understand the premise of customer service. I have to wear a mask to come inside for a quick purchase, or they won't let me in, but employees who are working there for hours-long shifts can blatantly walk around without a mask? Not to mention they come in contact with customers ALL DAY because they are on the floor. Without fail, every time I go there the same employees are not wearing masks, half the time I don't even see them have one, the other half it is pulled down under their chin. How are you going to not enforce your own policy and put the community at risk? Ridiculous. Every time I call to speak to the manager on duty the phone rings and hangs up on me. I honestly think this Target isn't being given enough credit for what it's worth. When i came in this saturday i had a decent shopping experience. When you first walk into your left you see starbucks, and then as you continue to walk through the store you find the self checkout and return section followed by hair makeup and hygiene products which was well organized per designer, they even had awesome sales on travel size masks and hair sprays The clothes on the first floor were also neatly laid out and even though I didn't recognize some of the brands I cant say the items were damaged or of poor quality. The main things I loved about this location was how great the grocery section was. They had tons of fruits, vegetables snacks salad kits, meat , dairy, cereals, juices and sodas, ice creams, desserts, cold cuts, appetizers, spritzers ( amazing beer and cider selection)! And margarita mixes and even tonic, this place is perfect for all your party needs. I was also impressed with the pet isle, they had lots of supplies to choose from and the cleaning supplies were at great prices. The home goods section was great too because they had both gym/ workout gear followed by storage units ( found amazing shoe and wardrobe organizers, hampers, hangers) kitchen supplies, hardware and tools. The birthday cards, gift wrapping and holiday decorations were super cute, i was definitely loving the valentines day stuff. The school and art supplies were really great to choose from too, tons of crayola stuff. They have really good home decor to choose from like super absorbent bath rugs and towel sets, shower linens that are mildew resistant , the only down side is i found the bathroom and bedroom selection didnt have too many colors to choose from. However the candles are to die for, yankee candle and soy candle lovers can find tons of options here. The mirrors and clocks are gorgeous here too, they didnt have much pillows or furniture though. The baby isle / maternity items could use some improvement, I saw lots of stuff such as toys being scattered but its honestly an easy fix. The best part about my shopping experience here was that the self checkout and cashier lines moved really fast, and when i dropped one of my items a manager ran over to me quickly to help pick it up. Now thats a store that cares! Another great option offered here is that you can order online and pick up from the store. For those who are driving here, you can find street parking or use the garage nearby but thats pretty limited, i hope to see more parking there some day. What holds me back from giving 5 stars is the elevator being out of service, the fact that only one worked is a great disadvantage to disabled or customers with children. read more

I shop at this location at most twice a month and me nor my fiancé have had issues. We personally prefer the self service option versus the assistance from cashiers because we're not trying to be in there all day.
