I recently took a pair of brand new leather boots and a pair of lightly used, clean and conditioned leather dress shoes that have satin laces to get a rubber half-sole applied. Not only was the work done extremely unprofessionally, but my boots and shoes were returned dirty and stained. The half soles on the boots are uneven. The bottom surface of the shoes was excessively and unnecessarily removed behind the half-soles on both pairs, but especially the boots. The brand new heel on one boot was even damaged on the corner! The cherry on top were the black stains left on the satin laces of the dress shoes. I can't buy replacement satin laces in the correct shade of green anywhere to match these shoes in case the stains do not come out. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for a refund, I was met with denial, refusal, and responses of, "I don't give refunds, that's how I do everyone's shoes." He took no accountability. He charged me $130. I would not bring anything that you care about here, unless you want to pay to have your possessions mistreated. If he can't respect your shoes, he can't respect others or even himself. Sad.
