This is a review for the Snap Kitchen off 183. Kaitlin was welcoming, attentive and kind. Business goes where good people can be found! I will definitely be back not only for the healthy, yummy food but for the fantastic customer service. read more

Hello All, I have recently started purchasing my meals from Snap Kitchen, since MyFitFoods randomly closed down? I use the very convenient app to place my orders and pay for my meals ahead of time, thus making it quick and easy to pick my meals up when my work schedule allows. I have never had any problems with this method until today. I ordered/paid for my meals on the app and then picked them up on my lunch break. When I got back to work I noticed all the meals packaged in the bag were mediums when I ordered/paid for larges as well. I immediately call the location (Research) and explain what happened. The employee I spoke with remembered me and understood the inconvenience this was. He told me he would comp the incorrect meal and have a large waiting for pickup at the store whenever I could drop by. I went by after work to pick them up and there was a new shift of employees working. Of course they had no idea what I was talking about. Long story short, one of the two employees working accused me of trying to take free meals, cursed at me, refused to give me corporates number and his name, suggested I was at the wrong Snap location, and insisted on me just purchasing more meals ( all in front of the other employee and customers ). He even had me describe the employees and what they looked like because he was trying to convince me I was at the wrong place... I am EXTREMELY offended and shocked that this even happened and in front of other customers and his co-worker. I have had good experiences there and now I have had an awful experience there. Extremely unfortunate. read more

Yes yes yes! Paleo friendly pre made fresh meals and affordable. I just got breakfast and lunch for under $7. Thank you. Please open a location in Richmond or Mechanicsville Virginia! :) And the gentleman who rang me up was so super helpful and able to answer all my questions. Great business, wishing you all the success ahead. read more

Hours need to be updated everywhere. Not just on your door. Wasted my time driving out to y'all for my fiancé just to find out you're actually closed. read more

Healthy and delicious meals in a Snap! Small store, but enough selection to frequent them weekly. Took off a star for the eat there experience. They have just a few tables and a microwave. Better to just take your food and eat at home/the office. Otherwise, food is great and prices are reasonable. read more

When hubby was staring down elective surgery and several months of decreased activity, he thought he'd try to lose weight a bit first. While I know these places offer 28 day meal plans (3 meals and 2 snacks a day), I knew us (and our social calendar) better than that and opted to supplement our diets with the occasional low calorie meal. I'd tried the other Fit ready made meals and just assumed that ALL low calorie meals of this type would be a bit on the nasty side. It's diet food right? So, when I walked in Snap the first time and explained my plan to the helpful lady, she immediately offered me to try a meal for free. Very nice! I ended up trying the goat cheese eggs breakfast dish and thought it was really very good. So I went back for several more meals. So far we've tried a bunch and I'd have to say I like most and love a few, incl the grilled kale and rice bowl thanks to Ashley S' recommendation. The veggies in the meals, unlike the other place, cook perfectly for each meal (love the cauliflower and snap peas in the Naked Chicken and Beef dishes). I haven't come across anything nasty yet! Also, I've discovered that, for a healthy eater like myself, the medium bowls are plenty to fill me up and most are around 350 calories. The only downside is the meals are a bit pricey (even compared to the other place), ranging from $7-12, depending on size and protein involved, but most use organic and locally sourced ingredients and quality foods like bison meat. I look at it as paying for someone to cook and do the dishes for me and it doesn't seem so bad in that cents. :) However, Snap meals alone aren't gonna take the pounds off if you can't keep your hands off the bourbon *raises eyebrow at hubby*. So, in the end, I don't think we've lost any weight (wine's my vice) but we haven't GAINED any either :) If I can just say that at the end of the holiday season, I"ll be happy. If we continue to balance our gluttony with these meals maybe we stand a fighting chance. My wallet will be thinner for sure! read more

Wow! Great food, great price, so many fantastic healthy options for Vegans. We got a great first time discount ($15 off!!) and the employee was very helpful and kind. 10/10 would recommend. We were able to select very easily from a large variety of Vegan options and I also noticed they had a ton of Keto options as well. The whole store is gluten free I believe as well. Fabulous!!! read more

I frequent here often. They are friend;y and I get in and out super fast. When I forget my lunch, they are perfect to grab and go.... AND THEY OFFER WHOLE30 COMPLIANT MEALS! My current favorite of which is the Chicken Pad Thai or the Brisket Hash. read more

I'm consistently happy with the quality of the meals here. Unlike My Fit Foods, Snap Kitchen is aware of the fact that Austin has a lot of vegetarians who also want healthy prepared meals. It has quickly become my go-to lunch when I don't have time to pack something homemade. In addition to being vegetarian, I have quite a few allergies that limit what I can try but the meals are all clearly labeled with a short ingredient list and nutrition facts. They're a bit pricey but I'm willing to pay more to know exactly what I'm eating and see the nutrition facts. I usually spend about $10 for an entree and soup or $13 if I give in and get the amazing cookies too (not healthy but healthier than many cookies.) If they ever stop selling the Miso Glazed Tofu I might cry. read more

Everything here I've had is AWESOME. Whereas I usually have to add something to My Fit Foods (extra veggies, sauces, salt, etc), I find I rarely need to with Snap Kitchen. My favorites have been: meatballs, onions, peppers dish, ginger chicken stir fry, veggie thai curry, beef stroganoff on a bed of greens, bison quinoa hash... yeah, basically, everything they make that I just don't inherently not like period. We even tried the tofu pudding, which sounds super health nutty and gross, but it was AMAZING. They made magic with tofu and whipped it into a rich and creamy desert. They're always friendly, and they have a rewards program to eventually get free meals. EDIT: I had to add a star because I had a complaint of the meals really jumping up in price from medium to large, but Martin B. let me know that is really IS that much bigger and they weigh everything to be sure and price it by weight. So, I can't really complain about fair prices, I suppose not everything is as it seems. Being that I go for the medium sizes mostly anyway, I don't really have anything to complain about and thoroughly enjoy when we're just a little too busy to cook and we "have" to go to snap. :) read more

Talk about "fast food". This isn't your typical food on-the-go. They have a plethora of healthy but tasty choices. They offer Grass-fed, pasture raised and wholesome items. Pre-cooked meals ready in under 2 minutes. That's right, if you're in need of a quick meal and don't want to loosen that belt. This is the place. All the food is pre-packaged and freshly cooked, ready to be warmed up and devoured. They also have several healthy drink choices such as Juice's, Kombucha's etc. Whether you're Paleo, Gluten free, or Vegetarian, SNAP will have you covered..... Stop in and you won't be disappointed. read more

New to Austin and moving to the Arboretum area. Was looking for a healthy place to get breakfast and saw the reviews of Snap Kitchen on Yelp. What would I do without Yelp? I would be lost wondering around town hungry.. sorry, I got sidetracked. I wasn't clear on what Snap was but a few moments from the friendly employee and I had a wealth of information. There are pre-made meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a few snacks and deserts. They are portioned in small, medium, and large sizes and set up to meet almost every food plan around. They had GF, low sodium, Paleo, and even printed me a chart showing what would work on the Whole 30 program I was currently following. Since I was hungry I picked a breakfast option and heated it at their store in the handy microwave. The meal was tasty and I enjoyed knowing I was eating well and staying on plan. They suggest getting 3 days worth of food to keep at home and you can have your entire days meals ready to go. I took home a few options to try out. Not sure I would do all my meals there, but see myself stopping in to fill in when I don't feel like cooking or need something quick and healthy. Looking forward to working my way through their choices. Evidently they change menus seasonally so they might not always have the same meals available. Kudos to the staff for taking the time to explain things and help me find foods that worked for me! read more

The best of the take-n-go food places - you almost forget about the health aspect because the food just tastes good. I've probably been a dozen times and despite all of the choices more often than not I get something I've tried before because it was just really tasty. I'm trying to eat healthier but at the end of the day, I love food, and will try anything good for me *as long as it tastes good*, and I've never had anything I didn't like here. Some favorites: -harvest kale snack - flavors work really well together and combining the cool/fresh salad with a warm entree makes it feel like a more complete meal -bison quinoa hash / turkey chili - healthy eating doesn't mean you can't be a carnivore, these are both on the "hearty" side -pork agrodolce - cranberry relish goes well with the pork and the white bean ragu makes it filling -any of the salmon dishes - I love salmon and am always pleasantly surprised how well-cooked these turn out even out of a microwave Also, I'm not looking to stay within any specific dietary guidelines but it's cool how their website lets you filter to whatever you're looking for (paleo, gluten-free, etc). Finally, yes it's more expensive than getting fast-food, but the difference is a fraction of a drink at Starbucks (that I shouldn't be getting) - I think I'm worth it... read more

While I think the quality and freshness of the food is wonderful, I have to agree with a few others here that the portions are small for the price. Not all of us are lean, mean Crossfit machines on paleo and vegan and gluten free diets that eat 5-6 small meals a day totaling 1800 calories or less. I've found that I most often have to buy two entrees or a snack and an entree to feel satiated for a good lunch (lunch is probably my biggest meal of the day) I enjoy the variety and thoughtfulness that goes into the recipes, but yes its tough to drop 18 dollars on 400-500 calorie lunchables portions and still be hungry an hour and a half later. read more

I had a bite of the spicy thai beef at a client's office and really liked it. My client told me that I can go to the place and get my first meal free to see if I like it and want to eat more of the dishes. I sent my Assistant to go and get me the free meal and also purchase one. The staff treated her horrible and said that the promotion she referenced didn't apply to a referral and that I had to come in to take a tour. She tried to explain to them that she would be the one always coming and that she can take the tour, etc. and that the real customer is me and that she is doing the legwork on my behalf. They still treated her condescendingly. I don't appreciate anyone treating my staff rudely when all they are trying to do is their job. I won't be going back to this place again for this reason regardless that I like the food and would have been a new customer for them. Customer service is lost and I am sad about that! read more

I went to snap kitchen last night for a quick healthy alternative for my husband and two daughters. We have eaten there once before and it was Good. Last night felt to be a complete waste of $50. The food was not fresh and although we all chose a different meal - every dish seemed to have the same "funky" taste to it. We ended up throwing it all out. Won't be trying that again read more

I went to Snap Kitchen for the first time as a suggestion from my nutritionist. She was right - they are amazing! They hands down beat My Fit Foods by a landslide. I got the veggie lasagna and it was so flavorful! The staff was friendly and informative every time I had a question. The store was clean and they had such a great selection. I will be back sooner than later! read more

I have had many dietary issues over the many years, and my sister had suggested to my Snap Kitchen because it caters to the dietary needs or NO Dairy or NO Gluten. So I pick out myself a lunch, snack and dinner for the weekend. I will say the food was pretty tasty, but did not agree at all with my own personal dietary issues. Not sure if whether it was solely based on my selections or my reheating skills. But absolutely nothing agreed with me, this was one of my worst experiences. Maybe my stomach worse than I may have thought, but honestly was not impressed with the selections or the fact I got sick due to my meals. Seriously if you have dietary issues go home and make it yourself. Save yourself the trouble of going into a over sized refrigerator to pickup reheated meals. If you uber lazy and don't mind, keep on going here. Just be sure to pick up some Charmin tissue on the way home for safe measures. read more

Tried the Butternut Squash and Goat Cheese Macaroni and it was delicious! Perfect combination and amount of walnuts, garlic, and local goat cheese. Tried their gluten-free brownie as well and that was SUPER good. Will definitely be back for those, and am interested in trying their juices. My big con is the price, but it is worth it. I also wish their rewards card had more immediate rewards (you have to spend $500 to get a gift card from them). read more

Great, no GREAT service. really is. 1) I walk in, and people greet you. What an idea! 2) They want to see what you are getting and give helpful suggestions. 3) Employees seem to have autonomy to give out a sample or dish, or do whatever it takes to make you happy. This happens all the time. Really great place. I always come here mondays to get my lunches for the week. read more

I'm not entirely sure the disconnect between negative reviewers and the reviewee (Snap Kitchen). I'll simply say, if you enjoy good food and care about what enters your body.. Snap is worth a shot. Upon studying their labels, I would imagine most dare not operate within the nutritional parameters they set forth. Quite the undertaking; creativity need apply. In any case, beautiful stores and menu. Of which, I for one, truly appreciate. read more

Two of my coworkers suggested snap kitchen to me and my husband over my fit foods. We were looking for healthy lunches and good prices. I know can say I am obsessed and it is part of our Sunday routine! We usually go Sunday afternoon and puck out our lunches for the week. We usually get 4-5 meals each and spend about $70. I think that is pretty good on budget! The staff is great and seem very knowledgeable and this location is super clean and well stocked with all the food! I am obsessed with the naked chicken and beef! The cauliflower is the bomb and I plan on getting an extra side of it this time!! If you are looking for a healthier/cheaper meal option I highly recommend trying snap kitchen!! I can not say enough great things about this place, see you on Sunday! Put some cauliflower aside for me!! read more

I'm definitely a fan of Snap Kitchen! I was hesitant to try it because I'm a very picky eater, but the food there is not only healthy, it's also delicious!! I've tried about four or five of their dishes and have been very pleased with them. The only reason I'm not giving them a five is because some of their things can be a bit pricey for the size of their portions. Other than that, it's a greta place to go grab a bite at!! read more

Why oh why did I not discover snap MONTHS ago!!! I have moved around a lot and been a workaholic, so, never learned to cook! Luckily, my friends and family did... I have been existing on frozen organic food, however, there is still a lot of sodium and preservatives. Since I am sorely in need of "portion control", SNAP supplied my lunches and dinners for the last two weeks (except one lunch foray to a favorite asian restaurant)!!! I can't wait to see new dishes but am sad the asian chicken salad and salmon salad are going away for now. Can't believe how fresh and TASTY everything is, and importantly, healthy! Also, all the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable!!! read more

This was my first time checking out this snap Kitchen and it didn't disappoint. The employee working the cashier was insanely helpful and even helped me sign up for their rewards program on the spot! Amazing place to be able to stay on track . All of their meals have a lot of flavor. That is the difference for me between snap and other competitors. Their breakfast tacos are awesome. The chili or quesadilla for lunch. I love the chicken and carrots dinner. read more

I really enjoyed my visit at Snap Kitchen in the Arboretum. This area is notorious for not so healthy food chains for grab and go food so having Snap kitchen here is a big relief. This was my first time here and the employee made me feel comfortable by giving me a swift tour of the store and what types of food they offer for different times of the day and for various dietary needs. Since it was my first time, I got my butternut squash chicken meal for free! I will be going here more often when it comes to easy, healthy food for those days I work long hours and have no time to cook food. read more

I'm on the road a lot for work, and I've really been trying to find a place to keep me on track with healthy eating. Snap Kitchen is the perfect place for that! They have different sized portions for any type of meal and great selections! I tried the breakfast with scrambled eggs, cauliflower, and turkey sausage and also the beef tenderloin dinner with veggies and cauliflower mash. They were tasty and just the right portions, plus I didn't have to leave my hotel room. They also offer a great variety of juices, kombucha, and snack bars. If you want to keep yourself from the guilt of fast food, you must try some of the meals from here! read more

I have never been one to eat healthy food due to the lack of taste. But I have been eating Snap Kitchen for weeks now. The food is amazingly good for being so healthy. I feel better and can tell that I'm losing weight in just a few weeks. I say the same thing after every meal......"how the &*^# is this healthy?!?!?". This is how much i vouch for this place. I live in San Antonio and drive to Austin twice a week to reload. They have different sizes and a small is filling. The containers are convenient to take in a cooler for lunch. read more

Far better than My Fit Foods, which has closed down. I decided to check them out since I'm moving and all my kitchen items are packed away. So tasty. Was very skeptical, however, no better plan to improve diet / health. They spent almost an hour with me going over goals, likes/dislikes . It was eye opening. I learned so much I had to take notes. The food is excellent and I feel fantastic! I am so grateful. read more

The food here is pretty dang good. They have a lot of variety of "home-made" kinds of stuff - their caveman granola stuff is to die for. I gave it four instead of five just for the price. This will sadly be a negative review. If I was just rating the food itself, 5 stars. But snap kitchen is supposed to serve as a healthy convenience, not just good food. When I first learned of Snap Kitchen I was thrilled. I was looking for a regular meal service that could accommodate my nearly vegan lifestyle (I eat pastured raised eggs, but no meat, dairy, fish). I carefully reviewed my needs and was delighted to learn they use healthy Omega 3 pasture raised chicken eggs. Great...so far. My first order was with a clerk in the store, very helpful and accommodating. Then the problem began, on my second order, 3 of my entrees were small, not the medium I ordered (small= 1200 calories; medium = 1500 calories). Then for a snack I found one of the snack bars contained whey (milk). When I placed my next ordered, I pointed this out very nicely and said I would return it for an exchange. On my third order and last, more mistakes: I got ricotta pancakes (dairy), some entrees were still the small size. Moreover, I don't think they listen very well. I said, "I really liked those deviled eggs, I could use two of those" Instead I got 2 packages of hard boiled eggs. I said, "I really do not want fruit for a snack, it just makes me hungry" So, in my next set of food I found applesauce (which last time I checked, is a fruit). And finally, I said I'd pick up my order about 1pm, arrived at 2pm and it was still not ready. This time it wasn't a problem b/c I still had more errands, but any other time, that would hardly fall in the "convenience" category. Their solution seems to be to ask me to recheck the entire order when I come in and pick it up. Doesn't that defeat the entire purpose? Why don't YOU recheck your work. For all that extra effort, I might as well pick it all out myself. At least there would not be mistakes. And, fyi, when I exchanged the whey bar for something else, the clerk actually said, I'm going to comp you. NO! Comp means free, exchanging something is not a comp! I will not use this service again which is a bummer b/c on paper, it sounded like a real good solution for me. Back to the drawing board, read more
