Woma granite pastel ball python, purchased in March 2022

Alright, so based on the reviews here, I can tell online shopping with Snakes at Sunset is a nightmare. BUT, I have only ever gone in person and everyone has been helpful and professional. A little bit rushed, but overall a good experience. If you're looking to purchase an animal that is healthy or buy terrarium supplies or food for your animal, this is the place to do it! Just go in person. They don't answer texts or calls (at least in my experience).

    Store & employee

Went in today 11-08-202 @ around 2:30 trying to buy a male leopard gecko with my girl and the guy at the front was awful with a straight bad attitude you can tel that he didn't wanna be there. I proceeded to tell him that I wanted to see all the male leopard geckos, just to see which one I liked the most, you can tell he was aggravated by my question and wasn't being helpful at all. I kept asking him to see the other and he kept replying that they where all almost the same with different color patterns........ well that's the point of me wanting to see them! If you don't like your job then quite and don't ruin it for the rest of us his other co-worker on they other hand was must more friendly and a little bit better and was able to pick a nice blizzard. I believe his name was Chris thank you Chris ! But the other guy was horrible

A super mojave BEL ball python. Gorgeous. Was active and ate heartily within 48 hours of delivery.

I have ordered 5 animals from this business's online store thus far and have had excellent experiences. Not everything was perfect every go around, but when I had issues, the employees and owner were very quick to answer emails, phone calls, and all my questions. I am extremely happy to have the option of shopping a quality store rather than have to hunt around for a variety of hobbyists and breeders. Here are the Pros and Cons of Snakes at Sunset- PROS: -relatively low prices for quality animals -reasonably priced and reliable shipping -safe and humane packaging -knowledgeable and helpful staff -large variety of animals and availability -all animals healthy, happy, and well cared for CONS: -purchasing sight unseen -their shipping department can be a little unpredictable. Twice I've had shipments sent on dates I did not request. Overall this seems like a large supplier that truly cares about their animals. I love my purchases and will continue to shop at this business. A+

Two Great Plains toads and ONE HEATING PAD
    Thai L.

I bought two Great Plains toads on the 3rd of Oct online! On snakes at sunset website. I read many sketchy reviews and thought why not? I placed my order and they shipped it Wednesday Oct 13th to have it arrive Thursday Oct 14th at fedex. And to my surprise when I arrived home, and opened the package there was ONLY ONE HEATING PAD FOR TWO GREAT PLAINS TOADS! ONE! ONE! For Two Great Plains toad.... Wow and In their containers that they were in were only 4 tiny breathing holes.... 4?!?!?! For a great point toad. And the box didn't contain any holes whatsoever but one heating pad, shipped from Miami to California. What a $#*!ing joke! Oh best part, the website online and the shop are two different places and they both have different guidelines in handling the animals. The staff at the shop notice all the bad reviews but don't do anything about it, you wanna know why? Cause they don't CARE THEY JUST COLLECT THEIR PAYCHECK AND GO HOME HAPPY, while ppl who order online are getting scammed and they're just making bank! Another thing they have two different numbers to chat for those of you who ordered online :) here's the #to call *******953 text # is *******183. The person I spoke to just kept saying sorry, and that they've mentioned the bad reviews/packaging to their boss but still nothing is done about it, save your god damn money and don't waste time buying crap from here, chances are you receive a dead animal and no refund back! They don't give a damn, they're just here to collect your money and give you dead/sick animals. Go spend your money at Josh's frogs, they at least care about their animals and contacts you whenever there's a mix up or change. Don't waste your money on this pathetic site. It's a SCAM!!!!!!!!

I placed an order of three turtles from these guys- an albino red ear slider, a pink belly side neck turtle, and lastly a spotted turtle. I got charged immediately, but never sent a confirmation email. I placed the order on Thursday11/19/2020 and sent them a message Monday 11/23/2020 asking what happened to my order. Never got a reply, so today Tuesday, 11/24/2020 I texted the number they advertise animals with. They said they had sent me an email that they didn't have the spotted turtles in stock at the moment (unlike what the website stated) and would ship out next week. Firstly, I received no such email. I checked every folder including spam, and there was none. I told them I wouldn't be able to receive them next week (I'm a delivery driver and work an average of 50-60 hours a week) and that I'd need to cancel. They said sure, but it would be a $10 cancellation fee. Give you $10 because you were incompetent and couldn't update your website, or actually send me an email? According to your website anything placed before 2 will be shipped out same day, anything after the next. Not a week or two later. I shouldn't have to pay the price for YOUR mistake.

At Breeder Luis Gonzalez's location a puppy was found "lethargic and cold to the touch," another dog was underweight with his ribs and spine showing; the facility had over 500 dogs." I am beyond outraged by the inhumane and negligent treatment of these animals at Forever Love Puppies in Pembroke Park. We purchased two puppies: a 3-month-old Chihuahua and a 2-month-old Pomeranian. They came home sick. No family should ever experience the fear and financial burden of bringing home a puppy only to find out it is already ill. The so-called "complimentary" veterinary visit that this store "gifts" buyers to use is completely misleading. Our puppies were never examined by a veterinarian, yet we were assured by a staff assistant that they were "perfect" without any tests or physical examination. Side note on this fraud of a clinic: When I walked out of the examination room, there was a dead dog on the bench next to a lady in the waiting room. Such a level of unprofessionalism or disrespect is unbelievable. The attendant called someone to "come get the body". Didn't offer a room for the lady to grieve and choose the urn made her pay and choose in front of everyone with her dead dog on the bench behind her. Days later, our Chihuahua puppy ended up in the emergency room severely dehydrated with signs of Ataxia, a neurological symptom. The result? Over $1,200 in emergency veterinary bills and weeks of emotional distress, all of which could have been avoided with proper care and honest medical screening. We were told that a simple fecal test would have immediately detected Giardia. That basic test was never performed, even though the paperwork states otherwise. We took our boys to our private veterinarian, and both were diagnosed with Giardia. Even more disturbing is the breeder listed on our paperwork. A quick search reveals serious public concerns tied to this breeder. When we looked up the address ourselves using publicly available satellite imagery, the location appears to be a barn-like structure with no visible evidence of adequate shelter or proper housing facilities. At the time, temperatures were around 32 degrees. The thought of vulnerable puppies being housed and possibly transported in those conditions is horrifying. The fact that this store continues to source from breeders surrounded by red flags demonstrates either a shocking lack of due diligence or a complete disregard for animal welfare and consumer protection. There is also a publicly available news report involving the owner's son, Larry Master, which every potential buyer should watch before considering a purchase. Reports and documentation show that puppies are transported in freezing temperatures, with hundreds crammed into trucks and distributed to pet stores across the country. These are living, breathing animals, not merchandise, not inventory, not commodities. This entire experience was irresponsible, unethical, and deeply disturbing. If you care about animal welfare, please do your research. Seek out truly reputable, transparent breeders or consider adoption. No puppy deserves to suffer for the sake of profit, and no family deserves to bring home heartbreak instead of joy. https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/lawsuits-forever-love-puppies-accused-of-selling-sick-dogs-11711531/

When we arrived, we went to the register to ask where the chicks were. We were the only customers in the store at the time, while all three employees were on phone calls. A gentleman walked in after us and stood to the side. When one employee got off the phone and asked "who's next," we stepped forward--only to be told we were not next and that there was a "line." There was no visible line, no clear signage, and we had been standing directly in front of the register the entire time. This is not a large store--it's a small space where basic awareness should make the order obvious. The man who arrived after us then attempted to move ahead, and I had to clarify that we had been waiting. Instead of handling it professionally, the employee responded dismissively. When I finally asked where the chicks were, I was told "outside," with no effort to assist further. Outside, no one initially helped us. Eventually, a young employee approached and was polite, helpful, and allowed us to select a chick ourselves. As first-time customers in this type of setting, we relied on the guidance we were given. Then an older employee, identified as "Tete," approached in an aggressive and confrontational manner, raising her voice at both the employee and myself. She escalated the situation unnecessarily and even placed her hands on my shoulder, which is completely inappropriate. She also began speaking to me in broken Spanish despite me speaking English the entire time, which felt like an unfounded assumption. If there are rules about not touching the chicks, that needs to be clearly communicated and consistently enforced--not handled through public confrontation. What made this worse is that the employee assisting me--and even a supervisor--appeared confused by her reaction, stating that this was how they normally handle things. That inconsistency reflects a clear lack of training and management oversight. I also couldn't ignore the condition of many of the chicks, with a noticeable number appearing to have pasty vent issues, which raises concerns about their care. I ultimately chose not to make a purchase. I will not spend money in a place where customers are treated this way. This was not a product issue--it was a failure in professionalism, training, and management. If you're considering a feed store, I would strongly recommend looking in Broward instead. The difference in atmosphere and customer service is worth the drive.
