Today I l it really waited 20+ minutes for my shake and the man who came in like 3 minutes after me got his shake before I did. idk what it is with this smoothie king but the teenagers working are always soooooo slow. I'm a bit of a s.oothie king-a-holic. Been to tons of them. This one was by far one of the slowest I've been to. I think they're new, so perhaps it will get better eventually. But man, it was painful waiting for a smoothie. Their shelves were stocked and laser lined. When I went to pay they were trying to trade out the tills and looked like they were going to make me wait while they counted one. The cashier said "let's wait until he's done". That was nice. But should be an automatic thing. I'll be honest, they could have counted the till and more while I was waiting for the drink. They have some reserved parking spots, which was nice. This has always been my go to smoothie king for years but not anymore because of one employee who is always just flat out rude and annoyed with me for no reason. Always has an annoyed face when I come in and gets mad because I come at closing time but I always make sure I'm inside before their closing time and I always call ahead of time to place a order. Plus I left a good tip before he told me "be more considerate next time" I'm not gonna mention a name cause I'd rather him learn to be more respectful to his customers. Since going on the health food kick, I have been coming here about once a week to have the Gladiator. I sometimes add the pre workout enhancer. These protein drinks are like something like 40:1 protein to carb rate so they are wonderful before going to the health club to kill yourself. I get a kick out of the manager. I was put on a soft food diet a couple of months ago (no chewing) due to an injury i sustained, and while i love making smoothies at home it wasnt really convenient for me to go home from work for a meal. So i started going to Smoothie King in Allen and Plano (by my office and house) fairly regularly. It was only a week and a half ago when i visited this location in Richardson for the first time, and let me tell you, i am very sorry i waited that long. Linda runs the place and she is amazing! She offers top notch customer service. So personable and you can tell she really cares about what she is doing. She is what made the difference between my trip here and my trips to the other Smoothie Kings. As far as the smoothies go, the three i've had there (choc Gladiator, choc Activator, and the yogurt Peach Papaya) have all been excellent, not watered down at all IMO, which is a common theme of some of the negative reviews here. I've noticed that my smoothies here have been consistently thicker than the locations in Plano and Allen, but I like that so no complaints here. So go see Linda! I've only been to this location once, as I travel from Allen to Addison every morning for work and randomly try to find a Smoothie King on my many routes to work. The woman behind the counter was an absolute doll who was so nice. I ordered what I always order and she asked me to taste it to make sure she made it right! Now that is some serious quality control! I was so surprised, she had to ask me again to taste it to make sure it tasted right. Also, this is the first Smoothie King that has an email list sign up on their counter. Since I frequent Smoothie King at least once a week, I thought this was nice. This place has the worst customer service I've experienced in life... When I walked in I was told to wait so that the cashier could mop the floor for about 10 minutes. Then he comes to the register only to have me wait again for another five minutes. By this time I'm irritated to say the least. Then another guy comes from the back and finally makes my drink. The wait is absolutely ridiculous, there was nobody their and it still took awhile. The workers did nothing but talk, and figure out plans on what to do after work. Only one of the women was actually do her job, and she was the one making the smoothies. Finally when they handed me the smoothie, it was a different women than the one had made it, she saw it was leaking but yet still gave it to me. You could tell their was work to be done but no one of the workers wanted to actually do anything but, again besides that one women. Overall the smoothie is actually pretty good. I got "The activator" on the strawberry "Blueberry strawberry" it was too strong in flavor, was very foam like. I give it 3 stars on management and 4 on the smoothie. read more

Although I don't buy a smoothie often, I have been collecting stamps on my Smoothie King card for each smoothie I purchased, in hopes of earning a free product some day. Today, I took three partly filled cards in only to be told that a new method of tracking customer loyalty had been put in place and that my cards were now expired. I was surprised that there was no way to get future credit for my past loyalty. I will not register for the new loyalty program as I expect that it will expose me to unwanted texts and other marketing on my mobile phone. In fact, given the lack of consideration for my past patronage, I will probably find another smoothie vendor to frequent when I want a smoothie. read more

[I'm a 2 or 3 times a week visitor to this DFW location w/ 35$ minimum spent at each transaction.] I have to say that I'm fascinated by the ability of the Campbell Rd location to be so consistently inconsistent. I've never heard the morning manager utter more than 3 words and she seems determined to keep the words unhelpful as well as sparse. If asked if something might be a good substitute? OR what the lowest calorie substitute is? OR what enhancer might be added to thicken the often watery smoothies? the reply is almost invariably "I don't know" or sometimes she'll spice mornings up by just shrugging her shoulders. Occasionally, Guadalupe subs at the register and she's always a refreshing change but she is usually at work elsewhere. A word of warning: this is a clean but not overly friendly shop, especially on Fridays when the hordes come in for 5$ days. Extra help (3 instead of 2) is usually behind the mixers on Fridays and they always have a backlog -- but they always have time for a "thank you" when I pick up my multi-order at the counter. I've read and heard complaints that they aren't very social but, for the most part, the blender folks are legitimately too busy studying the formulas and requested order changes to be very outgoing. As for the counter minders, when not also busy elsewhere receiving shipments or taking phone orders, I have no idea why they are usually so resentful that a customer is interrupting their day by ordering in person or walking into the store - but, then, once in a while, I have been received by a staff member who is really quite helpful - ?? Finally, the Smoothies themselves: (the part you wanted to read about): I pick up 3 to 5 different formulas on the menu for my employers any given day and often get one myself . But I always have to listen to the complaints so I feel very much the expert : CONS: ++Always too runny. No matter what formulation is ordered; no matter if it is a fruit, nut, vegetable, butter pecan base -- it is always too liquidy. 1 of my employers actually adds cornstarch to thicken hers and re-blends it in a shaker complaining the whole time (but won't order from the closer Smoothie Factory b/c they don't offer as many fruits or any coffee mixes). The coffee and matcha (d-lite and green tea tangos) smoothies are consistently very runny and separate quickly but ALL the SK formulations tend to have too much ice or water as well; ++"Skinny" requests: The order taker will never automatically add a stevia replacement to formulas with turbinado, like the pamphlet and menu says ("S" next to the smoothie name). To order a Skinny( to reduce the grams of sugars and calories, but not the sweet) specify hold turbinado sub stevia or those formulations will often taste like an 10$ 32 ounce glass of chunky, chalky water for some reason. OR be prepared to add your own like my employers; ++Healthy Rewards and Purpose Points: There is no longer a card for multiple purchase rewards. It is all Points added onto mobile apps. If you don't want info loaded into your mobile (or you don't carry one to one of the nearby yoga studios and gyms) you don't get discounts. PROS: ++ALLERGENS: One of my employers has a horrible strawberry allergy. Several SK formulations have strawberries listed but I have never had an instance with someone screwing up and leaving them into the smoothie when told to leave it out. This is especially nice since it also indicates that the blenders are rinsed in between mixes; ++ CLEAN: This is a very clean location. I've never encountered so much as a cup on the table or an employee wearing a stained shirt (esp. impressive considering the amount of fruit and vegetable juices they work with!); ++OTHER ITEMS: There are less expensive drinks in cans and bottles available in a separate refrigerator. Also, some (but not all) of the health stuff is priced to taste in smaller bags and individual servings if you want to try a product first before buying it in bulk online or at Whole Foods. read more

I love the fact that they have meal replacement vegan shakes. Not only do they have vegan shakes but there's a variety. They also carry the vegan protein cookies that are super delicious. This location was quick and made my vegan shake swiftly without any hiccups. It was smooth, flavorful, not too sweet, and the perfect consistency. So far I've only tried the kale and mango shake. I love smoothie king smoothies, I get at least 1 to 2 a week. The other day I went in there with a friend and the manager was so rude to her employee I dont wanna go back (but I am sure I will) He was trying to help us and instead of her just letting him help or just helping us herself she yelled at him and asked him if he knew what his job was. Meanwhile my friend and I are just waiting to be helped. Finally, after about 3 minutes of lecturing him she finally came and took our order. Then while she was making our smoothies she began to yell at him some more and let one of the smoothies sit on the blender to long and it was watery and juice on the bottom and ice on the top.
