I've only had one smoothie here but my wife has had 2, each of my kids had 2, and my mother-in-law had one. They were all delicious. Prices were pretty reasonable. Staff was friendly. Store looked clean. And the speed was pretty fast considering. They were busy both times we went. I don't know why the scores are low, but I feel like a place this busy must be doing something right. I have lived in Chicagoland for nine years and wouldn't change it. I love the culture, the history, even the weather! But there are occasional things I miss about my past homes, and one of them is Smoothie King! I have been known to drive 40 minutes when visiting my grandmother in Florida to the nearest Smoothie King to get my fix while there's one in the vicinity! So a few months back I emailed the company (when I realized that there was a Smoothie King in O'Hare, but nowhere else in IL!) to see if they were ever going to expand in our great state! And yes, they said my dream was coming true! Starting with this location in Bloomingdale. Or is it Glendale Heights? The internet can't seem to decide (Even their own Facebook page is unclear), and my Garmin got confused when I put in the actual address (I was still about half a mile away when it told me I was at my "destination"), so I will give you these landmarks: it's the intersection of George Bell Drive and E. Army Trail Road, near Home Depot and Buona Beef. Anyway, the important thing is that I made it there after making the odyssey from my home in Naperville, and was warmly welcomed by a cheery crew. :) Things are somewhat different even from my last visit in Florida: for example, my old favorite the Immune Builder now has two versions, and neither is the original anymore. The Orange iteration I had was still tasty, though.Next time I will try the Mixed Berry to see if it's more like the other one (which did have a strawberry base.) Rather than a loyalty stamp card as in the past there is apparently now an app; welcome to the modern world! I'm so glad that Smoothie King is making inroads in Illinois (they said more locations will be opening in the coming years, so hopefully some will be closer to me!) Only two employees working, one with no urgency, and the other running around like a chicken missing it's head. There is no manager, however, the one employee actually working was very apologetic and was trying to pick up the slack of her coworker. They have been open for four days now. I found the service very slow. With only two other customers in the store it was over a 15 minutes process to get out. There was only one employee working. Please do not ask me, "Do you want energy in your drink?" Are you serious? Do you know what energy even is! It is already a cup full of energy (calories). I found the whole halfhearted theme of health and nutrition to be ridiculous. For the price of these expensive smoothies, I wanted more. Better favors, better consistency, better overall experience. Let me start by saying I LOVE smoothies. The menu is a little overwhelming, so I have always gone with Acai Adventure. It is delicious, but I realized it has no fresh fruit in it. I would love if they had options with fresh fruit. I've also gone in where there are multiple employees, and only one ends up taking the orders for multiple people and making the smoothies. It is quite a bit more expensive than Jamba Juice, but equally delicious. My husband likes it better. Five dollar Friday's are great, and they do have an app, but I still feel I save more with Jamba Juice and their app, where I frequently earn buy one get one free. I am hoping to switch things up next time, but again, the menu can be overwhelming. Still totally recommend, if you are okay with spending more for a smoothie. read more

This Smoothie King location needs improvement. I moved up here from Jacksonville and there were two I would go to almost every other day. They are super slow with making a smoothie and I have yet to come across staff that is up beat. It seriously takes them like 15 min to make two smoothies. The smoothies are ok here, I definitely noticed a difference. I assume they use different products or something. Anyways I get the greek yogurt strawberry and blueberry smoothie, I'll get a banana added if I've just finished up with the gym. Walked in and the kid working said my manager says I can close at 8:30 so I can leave at 9:00. I've gone to Smoothie King 3 times now and each smoothie has been really good. I'll honestly say I'm not a big fan of the super healthy smoothie. If it tastes like spinach, I'm not drinking it. So yes these are sweet and taste like dessert. My only complaint is the pricing, the 20oz is $5 and when I added raspberry to my smoothie it went to $7. Won't do that again, just order off the menu and don't "make your own". If you need a healthier option ask for those items, they do have a selection under 300 calories. read more

The wait was long and if you buy a groupon for $20 your order cant be over $20, they will not just charge cash for the difference like every other business on groupon does. If you enjoy buying a groupon and not being able to use all of it, driving around to get in the tiny parking lot, getting out and waiting 1/2 hr to get your over priced beverage then this is the place you've been looking for. Soooo the only reason I came here recently is because T-mobile had theyre T-mobile tuesday and it was a special for Smootie King, where you can get a smoothie for $2, now for me, I loveee Smoothies! Strawberry banana fan here! And I do try a lot of different smoothies places, every chance I get to actually, like everytime Im near one. I like trying different smoothies, and smoothies place. Theres a really good one near this place, one location in the stratford mall. So i receive this $2 smoothie deal, its a no brainer that this was a good deal for me. And I believe i went to this place 1 time before and never came back because of the prices. i knew it was pricey. and even as I go in and check the menu, the prices scare me again, and wouldve left if I didnt have that coupon. They do have a lot of custom options that you can choose from, but a lot of them have high calories. The biggest con for me was the customer service, it was horrible. A friend and I walked in, and 3 people were talking towards the register, 1 looked like management because He was talking pictures of the menu and walked towards the back room. and only 1 person greeted us only after walking up. Thats not good, management did not acknowlege us, plus does not have theyre employees greet customers... not cool. DESERVES ZERO STARS. I went in today at around 11:30am. There was two employees (the usual) but I couldn't believe what I witnessed. There was a guy in front of me and the girl called him up to take his order, but she was literally having a whole conversation on her phone and the guy was just standing there not knowing what to do. She was giggling and saying bye to whoever was on the phone. This was literally her: "Okay bye ahaha okay okay I said bye omg!" I CANNOT MAKE THIS UP.
