2019 Yelp 120 Challenge - #48 I was a huge fan of Smoothie King but I am now no longer a fan. I wanted a smoothie before work and decided to give smoothie king another chance. I should have just made my own smoothie because what I received was the most blandest strawberry banana smoothie in my life. I just don't understand how you can ruin a strawberry banana smoothie and you're a smoothie shop. I also order a medium size and it was so horrible that once I arrived to work I simply threw it in the trash. I don' know what was added to it to make it taste so bad but I will not be returning to this location to waste my money ever again. This review pertains only to the location at Marsh lane and Frankford in Carrollton Texas. The location is in a Wal-Mart parking lot. I usually LOVE Smoothie King and get their Angel Food smoothie. Any where else i order this is consistently excellent. This is NOT the case at this Frankford/Marsh location. Twice i have been there and twice i have thrown away money on a drink that tasted either tasteless or awful. And unfortunately, i was introducing a friend to them and had purchased their drink for them, only to be embarrassed by the product. Idk who runs this location but they need to get better employees and ensure theyre following the recipe. I will not return to this location ever again. read more

I couldn't believe it and they both laughing at me as if i made the smoothie. This location is by far the worst in the DFW area. The service is slow all around. I am in there at least 15 minutes each time at a minimum and that's when I am the only one waiting. My most recent visit....I stood at the register at least 30 seconds after saying hello, while the worker finished her text message. She then looked at me as if I inconvenienced her for trying to order a smoothie. Before that, the lady taking my order answered her cell phone while I was ordering. I have witnessed the staff arguing at each other. One time I sat there while my drink was not getting made because the person making the smoothies was mad at the person putting in the orders. Usually the customers that order after me get their smoothie before I do. The only good thing about this place is the location. All workers should change their attitudes and be grateful for the job or be replaced. read more

This location is horrible with making drinks. They taste nowhere as good as the one in Midway. My husband and I got our usual from there and this is the first time visiting this location. Omg! It went straight in the trash and since I just had surgery I couldn't go up there and just do a refund. I don't know what they did wrong but it was disgusting. Clean brand new location with a nice staff. I visited for the first time during their opening week and have been back about 12 times since. It sucks that the Smoothie King app doesn't recognize this location. They do, however, participate the app as far as scanning for points when you purchase smoothies and other items there. I like that this location constantly had sample out. I tried the yogurt covered almonds, the banana nut bread, some veggie chips and other things and they were all yummy. The store is clean and well stocked and I hope it stays this way! Parking is awful in this strip mall but what strip mall parking isn't? read more

Wanted to try Smoothy King this morning as I like to replace a healthy smoothy for lunch. As I had never been in there I was looking at the board one I'd seen online. Girl asked if I was ready and I told her I was looking for the one with peanut butter.....she walked away as I was telling her what I was looking for. Another came out and I was telling her and she too just walked away. A guy walked right up behind me and placed his order and both females rushed to his order. Rude. I left as obviously my business wasn't wanted.... for whatever reason...... I did not want to give any star but Yelp requied it but they don't deserve even half a star from my experience. I love Smoothie King and have been to SEVERAL locations however the cashier at this location I went to today was just rude. She looked irritated or bothered or maybe just had resting B face either way if it wasn't for the other young lady that was making the smoothies I wouldn't have given this one any stars. She was busting her butt making everyone's drinks while the cashier just stood there and at that point didn't have anyone else's order to take. So thank you to the young woman making everyone's smoothies and then apologized for the wait when she really didn't need to (I was only waiting like 5-7 minutes.) W.T.F. Absolutely horrible service. Felt so belittled over a $5 smoothie! Walked in, and asked for the $5 special on my smoothie (you get a 32oz smoothie for $5 on Fridays). I asked the girl on cash to scan my app, and she said the scanner isn't working and I can't use my rewards and get the $5 special. I said I'm not trying to use my reward, I'm trying to scan the app. She went and got the manager who scanned it. My name was called and my smoothie was ready and when it was handed to me, it was 20oz and it was VERY watery. I said this is a 20oz, I got the $5 special. The girl on cash argued that I said I wanted a SMALL and they are all $5. Why would I asked for a small for $5 when the small costs less than $5 for my smoothie! The cashier kept insisting that I used the word SMALL when I had never uttered that word. I said $5 special. The manager came out and said he can hear me in the back and I said small. I didn't. He said I DID say small but he will have it remade. So they were remaking it and I told the girl it was very watery last time, please blend it less. She said uh huh and kept blending and it was just as watery. She poured it into a 32oz and it was filled less about 2-3 inches from the top. AND WATERY AS HELL. I decided to drop it and just fill up the new one with the old one and I topped it up. The girl asked if I want to keep the old one, I said I can give it to the panhandler outside and she said okay. I walked out and both the drinks were at the top of my car while I unlocked my car and the manager RUNS OUT asking if I want to pay for both my drinks! WTF!!! I said well, she filled my drink this much less so I used it to fill it up! And I told her I am giving the rest away to a panhandler! Do you want it back? The manager said no it's okay and went back in. It was really humiliating. I saw him then furiously gesturing towards me and speaking to his employees. Maybe he was training them, maybe he was telling them I'm a scammer. ‍ I've never had such an experience over a $5 item and I won't be going to this location again. I love smoothie king but this place is unorganized. Never consistent with the smoothies and staff. That says a lot about this place. 1 Star is for actually staying opened after all this time. One time I came last year to this location and the doors were locked with the lights off. This was on a random day not a holiday. The next time I came all new employees. My complaint is with the owner. He makes it obvious that he/she is only trying to make money and not run a great company. I am very disappointed. read more

This location has gone down hill. Each time I come in they only have one person working. Poor girl is always trying to get it all done on her own and move as fast as she can. That being said, makes for a sucky smoothie. They have been really watery, not taste, to much much taste. I like to put orders in early in the morning, but no one ever answers the phone. I use to rave about this locations. Ever since the manager went to the new location off lovers it sucks here now. :-/ Update: 7/15/16 I am sick with a very sore throat and can't eat. I went in today to get a drink and was serviced by an employee who I believe is named John. This employee was beyond rude. When trying to pay I inserted my card too fast and was told by the employee John "that's why you don't talk on the phone when trying to pay." I did have my phone in my ear but was not actually talking at the time. I had the other person on hold while I ordered and payed. I even was apologetic when placing my order for taking a while since I couldn't figure out what drink I wanted. His comment was completely unnecessary and even if he felt that way, you don't speak that way in the customer service world. I didn't mention anything until I brought up the issue of my last purchase. I was there a week ago and purchased two bags that were on the shelves that were a year old. No joke! I was in complete disbelief over his lack of care and total disregard when I mentioned the purchase. He started yelling and telling me how I was wrong for thinking the way I did and I was the one being rude for telling him that his lack of care really showed. The guy wasn't even apologetic about anything but instead was very argumentative. When I proceed to ask him what his name was he stated he didn't have to give me his name and that he was the manager so basically that's how far it would go. He even mentioned how I didn't know anything about customer service and he had a degree in customer service/hospitality. All this is happening while another customer is in the store. I've lived in the Addison area for years now and this has been my go to location despite the drinks being a hit or miss. I can tell you after this experience I will definitely NOT be returning at all to this location or any of other Smoothie King locations. I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

My first time at Smoothie King was visiting this location, and I was not disappointed. I forgot to bring lunch, so on a break I ran over to grab a smoothie. I chose the Pep Upper(make it skinny!) because it has a lot of caffeine, and everyone knows I can't get enough of that! It has a blend of strawberry, passion fruit, and papaya that in numerous visits has continued to please my sophisticated palate. It has a little protein, fiber, and it's just 361 calories! On Fridays they have a great special- $3 small, $4 medium, and $5 large smoothies. A word of advice- size down. The medium is the size of a large anywhere else, I've yet to finish anything but a size small. The management is great, always helpful and informative about ingredients. It doesn't hurt that the girls know me by name :) Makes me feel like a winner...until I look down and see I'm wearing my name tag. read more

Great experience every time I come to this location. WiFi is available upon request typically takes about 2-3 minutes to make a smoothie with no rush. When there is a rush and people order 2-3 a person a barrage wait is about 5-10 minutes and that's if you want a great quality smoothie. This is one of the nicer locations. This Beltline location always shows its customer great service e whether it's early in the morning or at closing time in the evening. The store is always well kept and we'll stocked. The smoothies can get a bit pricier than I like but they are great smoothies and definitely accommodate my busy lifestyle as I try to make healthy choices. Definitely sign up for their Smoothie King app where you can stack points for future goodies like free smoothies and snacks. Takes a minute to get there but every little bit helps. To reduce the fat in my peanut butter chocolate gladiator, I purchase the reduced fat supplement at the store and spend an extra two bucks. For every other franchise, they cheerily mix it in and everybody's happy. But, NO, for this CORPORATE store, they were prohibited from taking anything from the customer and mixing it in. They sold me the supplement in a packet, then refused to produce it as part of my smoothie. I hate mindless BS rules and was reduced to stirring in this packet of powder into my brimming smoothie, making a tremendous mess on the counter. Very inconsistent product. Anytime the manager is present, my smoothie tastes terrible. Smoothie king is a life saver when you are on the go. If I run errands and want to stay healthy I always come here because their smoothies can easily be a meal replacement. All of the employees are very helpful with making suggestions. My favorite has to be the gladiator smoothie and I get it with chocolate protein, peanut butter and banana which usually comes out to over 40 grams of protein. This smoothie king has the worst service ever. There's usually two girls running the night shift and they're always on their phone and assist me with their phone in the other hand with that person on hold to take my order and don't say "how can I help you?" Or give me some kind of hint that they're ready to take my order. The only kind of customer service you get is "angel food slim" and you get your smoothie then you leave. The guy today, cleaning up and getting the garbage bags asked how I was.. he was nicer than anyone I've seen in the last 5+ visits (I come here often and have the same exact experience but I like to give multiple chances before leaving a review). The only reason they get 2 stars is because the smoothies are decent. Someone really needs to show these employees how we work in the service industry. read more
