Our experience was good, but seemed a little more low-frills than in past visits. We were served water once and then not again- sat without refills for most of the meal. We ordered quickly and the food came out fast! Our server came back to ask "had anyone taken payment yet?" And did so with a card reader right at the table, which felt a little clunkier but no big deal. The wonderful part of the food is the local sourcing. Everything is really high quality! The taste was just okay, I was a little underwhelmed but I enjoyed the lunch enough! I ordered the avocado toast. The bread was thin and a little soggy from what I think was the ember sauce, although I am not sure what that is as I didn't get a lot of flavor through! The egg and avocado were perfect with a yummy hemp heart topping. The salad took up most of the plate but was plain greens with a little dressing and celery pieces. A little bitter for most of the bites! I guess my expectations were a little higher for one of cincy's premier brunch places and I just found the meal "okay". Lastly, parking can be a challenge here! It's only paid street parking on the surrounding streets, but it's such a nice pretty area that parking and walking is often a lovely part of the experience.

Rune has potential, but needs to change locations…read more Love that Rune is so focused on healthy ingredients! Because of that, I was excited to try them as an afternoon pick me up. The store is sparse, and does not feel welcoming. Inquired about their GF desserts that look amazing on their website, they were already out for the day. :( This process of the girl asking (what I assume is) the owner about the GF brownie felt like it took a lot longer than it should, for a store with only 1 customer, me. I ordered a matcha latte with almond milk, and though it is listed it contains vanilla and maple syrup, I really couldn't detect them. Awesome it is organic matcha though! There was an interaction I observed that makes 2 things apparent: 1. Rune is known for moving at a slow/snail's/unacceptable pace when it comes to fulfilling food orders in particular, maybe even orders in general. 2. The people that work at Rune do not match/fit in with the people of Mariemont. The best part of this trip to Rune was discovering they carry a bevy of St. Steve's drinks! I am familiar with the company from Holland Farmers Market, in Holland, MI. I would recommend trying it! So, would I return to Rune? Hmm. The service was disappointing, at home I make a better matcha. If I was in the area again, I'd pick up a St. Steve's drink though! :)

I love it so much that my friends literally make fun of me because I randomly love Currito, but the customer service both times I've been to this location since moving back has been bizarrely bad. Tonight, I ordered a bowl and realized it was missing several of the ingredients that were supposed to come on it. I showed the employee and explained what was missing, and instead of just fixing it, she told me, "No, they're there, you just can't see them." I told her again that they weren't, and she doubled down and then just walked away and refused to fix the bowl. And, shockingly, when I actually ate it -- they were not there. The previous time I came in, I ordered a bowl with a couple modifications and the employee literally rolled her eyes at me like I was inconveniencing her by placing an order. I know this is a fast-casual job and I'm not expecting over-the-top service, but I do expect employees to be basically polite and to fix an order when it's made incorrectly instead of arguing with the customer and walking away. It's especially disappointing because Currito was genuinely one of my favorite spots for a quick lunch or dinner, and this location is ruining it for me.
