One company even bid three moving men for this trip. I clearly understand when families move their entire home and all belongings, one may need more movers and time for this process. This furniture had no sentimental value and was not worth $1,200; I simply wanted to utilize something I already had as I do not like to shop. TJ's Services arrived for the pickup and delivered on time. They were very courteous and did a very nice job. I would not hesitate to contact them again if I had any other moving needs.

Most belongings were packed in boxes and containers. The boxes were clearly labeled where they should go in the new house (2nd floor bedroom, living room, 1st floor bedroom, kitchen, basement). The movers asked where to place the furniture. Unfortunately almost all of the boxes and containers were loaded into the basement and stacked 4-5 boxes high, completely filling up the basement leaving no access to the furniture in the basement. Then, to add insult to injury, the final price was almost $2,000 Higher than the original quote. CJ did finally adjust the price down by $1,000 because of the damage to our antique dining room table and other factors. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with CJ, he was defensive, denied any wrong doing and was insisting nothing was his fault. My son and daughter in law spent two months moving boxes and containers up the stairs so we could unpack where the items belonged. Additionally, most of the wood furniture was scratched and scraped during the move. Probably because none of the furniture was wrapped or protected properly. The initial estimate was done by having me take pictures of each room on my house, garage and patio. Obviously not a very reliable method. Overall this is a nonprofessional, start up company trying to cut corners at the expense of the client. Do yourself a favor and go with a more seasoned, professional moving company like Two Men and a Truck!

I used Lane's for unloading/loading and storage for 10 months. During the unloading, they complained the entire time, were not careful or cautious with our items, and sat in our antique chairs to "take breaks" in the warehouse. Our mattresses were not stored correctly --they should have been laid flat-- and the springs are now ruined after ten months in storage due to the way they stored them. When they loaded our truck, our items were not secure, most importantly our solid cherry Thomasville dining table, that was just "set" in the back of the truck without being secured. When we arrived to our new home, we discovered that one of the table legs had snapped. We also discovered that they had neglected to load our sofa-- and our move was a 4 hour trip. Nothing was compensated, no apologies were made, and there was a complete and utter lack of care or concern for customer service-- including from the owner of the company. When they brought the couch to us nearly a week later, they decided it wouldn't fit down the stairs without measuring anything or truly attempting it. By that point, I was fed up with their service and had them put it in the living room and leave. It's truly a shame that this company is no longer what it was built to be. They aren't trustworthy, or dependable, and their prices are FAR too high to be putting up with this sort of nonsense. Save yourself grief and do not use Lane's Moving.

After the move, he requested I pay him $1495. 3 and a half hours of work would have been $525. He told me he was charging me for 7 hours. How is it my fault that they were 2 and a half hours late? Why would I be charged for that? I understand paying for travel time but where did an extra $1000 charge come from? They are now unresponsive and I am working with my bank to dispute this payment.
